  1. The snow is not great, but the clear skies have been spectacular. The only other times I've been to Whistler it's been a total white out and I couldn't see a thing. The views of the last 3 days have been absolutely amazing. I have not seen any other hard booters. The guys in yellow jackets keep telling me to slow down even though kids are going strait down and passing me like I'm standing still. I guess I just look fast. Going to for the first tracks breakfast tomorrow.
  2. Hi BlueB, Thanks for the info. I would love to go Thursday night, I'm just not sure I can swing it with work. I'll get back to you on that one. I'm a fellow Level 2 who is hard boots only. :)
  3. I'm going on a last minute business trip to Vancouver. I've extended my trip so I'll be in Whistler Friday to Monday. I just learned that this weekend is Family Day for BC so the hills should be jammed, especially Monday. Can someone recommend some runs that are good for carving? Whistler or Blackcomb? Near the bottom where they've been snow making? Also maybe some runs where I can avoid the crowds? It's been years since I've been there so any help would be appreciated. I'm taking my Prior FLC. Thanks, Paul
  4. An attempt was made on one of my boards. It was leaning against the ski school meeting place sign. Apparently it was a combined effort by a couple of kids. First kid picked it up and threw it in the woods. Next kid picked it up and tried walking away with it. One of the other instructors recognized my board and stopped the kid. If he let him walk another 50 feet we could have changed him with theft. But he was still on property so we couldn't do anything.
  5. Just curious if letting the battery run down worked?
  6. Let the iPod completely drain. Charge it first, then connect to iTunes.
  7. From personal experience rear foot ejections are not that bad. I would hate to get a front foot ejection. I wear a leash every time I'm out. I've never really thought of riding without it.
  8. Weather it works or not it's kind of a cool top sheet.
  9. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/bWzU6Pk7O90" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe> Luckily no one was hurt. ;)
  10. I don't think any color can save us from our own turn shape. People just aren't ready when we come back that fast horizontal to the fall line. I look up the hill as often as possible but sometimes people are just going so damn fast. I've had a few minor collisions. Some near misses that could have been really bad. But ya, the white coat thing might be an issue. Maybe wear a safety vest over top. :)
  11. I think those are the mold-able ones. Infact, I have the same ones in my Suzukas. I'm looking for the newer style standard liners.
  12. This is a great option. I've had 4 days already this year that I skied with my 3 year old then switched to boarding. My wife might kill me though if I buy yet another pair of boots. Would these take a BTS? Would I really need special AT bindings?
  13. I'm looking for a pair of the standard liners. I have a pair of the 100% moldable liners. I've had them molded twice by a pro, and once by myself, and nothing feels as good as the semi-moldable liners out of my ski boots. I would like to try out a pair of the deeluxe standard liners if someone has a pair kickin around. Thanks, Paul
  14. It depends on board width for me. As my angles go down my stance gets wider. 45-50 degrees I'm at 19.5". 35-40 degrees I'm at 20.5". I'm 5'10" 160 lbs. 21cm is the most narrow board I ride.
  15. +1 We got it bad last year.
  16. I too feel your pain. With size 26 boots the bolts are buried under the toe blocks for me as well. Total PITA if your moving from one board width to another. I finally broken down and bought a pair of F2s which work really well on my wider all mountain. I'm curious to see if the bindings would stay set with the teeth removed. It would solve this issue for us small footed folks.
  17. Awesome! Lets hope this stays true. The ice coast is due for a decent winter. EDIT: Didn't catch that this was last years forecast. Did they ever get it wrong.
  18. 24 degrees C during March Break pretty much summed up our entire winter. The worst on record. I'll take anything better than that at this point. Some snow in the city would be nice as well (my kids LOVE snow).
  19. Every time I hop on my kids ripstick I jones for snowboarding. Feels allot like snowboarding if you take it down a hill and make complete turns.
