  1. This board was new in the Spring, but I was only able to get out on it once, so it's still new to me for the upcoming season.
  2. For that price you can get a couple of Coilers, a case of beer, and a hooker.
  3. They have the advantage of being down in a valley. They can make snow when others can't due to it being several degrees colder.
  4. Dez from KS95 did a nice write up: http://bit.ly/Vxgu7 Includes a photo of Bob's friend.
  5. The carpet brings you to the top of the Haunted Hollow, you get down on foot.
  6. A little sneak peek: http://twitpic.com/g1i6n
  7. I have not ridden at Granite Peak, but I've driven past numerous times and it looks like they have great terrain. Blackjack in the UP is closed (and not just because it is summer).
  8. Frightmares @ Buck Hill - Minnesota Haunted Houses Coming soon.
  9. Wouldn't be an issue if the ruts were caused by a skier. Thats how it works there. They complain about the ruts and dangerous damage to the hill, but they'll pull a slalom course and leave ruts big enough to swallow small children. If it continues to be an issue, I think we need to have an unannounced session here.

  11. I know someone that used to have a "street legal" XR650R supermoto. It was a seriously insane machine. Like 75mph stand up lane-splitting wheelies insane. Of course, the rider was a lunatic, but the bike helped.
  12. I'm nearly positive that the Husky in your pic is P-shopped. Sorry for the buzzkill. I've been very happy with my SM610, but if I were in the market for a street SM at the moment, I'd look into the Duke 690 for sure. For a more versatile (SM style) bike, the Aprilia Dorsoduro looks very nice as well. It all depends on what type of riding you are after. Supermotos are great fun, but not good for any long distance duty. My Husky was not happy with me after riding 250 miles in a day. The Ducati Monster models range from "girls bike" to super hooligan man-eaters. It all depends on which one you look at. I've ridden an S4RS and would not recommend it to anyone that did not have a ton of riding experience, it is a beast. Really, bikes are just like snowboards......you need a "quiver" of 'em.
  13. I got out and took a dozen runs or so on Saturday late morning. It was a combo of super soft and super hard. Not horrible, but I did not feel bad for not staying long. The snow turned to mashed potatoes by mid afternoon (60+ degrees!). I spent some time in the terrain park in the afternoon shooting photos. Some of those kids were going BIG. I don't know if it was because it was the last day, or just because the snow was soft and forgiving.
  14. Colorado is only 13 hours away. Go to Des Moines, take a right. ;)
  15. Nope, not me. I think he's a skier. :p
  16. The hill looked perfect as I drove past this morning. This is one of those days that I envy the unemployed. ;)
  17. It's almost over. Closing for the season Saturday at 6pm. :(
  18. Karl, this is very simple, follow these instructions. At 4pm jump up from your desk with a frightened expression on your face and sprint to the restroom (make some crazy noises while running). Stay in there for at least 20 minutes. Splash warm water on your face and return to your desk. Twenty minutes later, do it again. No one will think twice when you call in sick tomorrow.
  19. I'll be there all day on Friday. Skiing in the AM with my son, riding the new Schtub in the afternoon.
  20. Nope, not the Top Gear clip. I think it was an RS6 in that Top Gear episode.
  21. I might develop a 24 hour illness on Thursday or Friday, depending on the weather. I'm going to go skiing with my son in the morning, take him to school and come back to the hill to ride in the afternoon.
  22. The "liquid smoke/vortex street" was my creation - Photoshop.
