  1. okay this is just unprofessional I mean come on and I am not even into FIS bashing and really never was ... so I checked out Gilles Jaquet's results page for a post about his retirement and noticed that they added equipment info to the rider profile pages ... ... cool feature only that they added it in what I guess is indeed their way of seeing things ... http://www.fis-ski.com/uk/604/613.html?sector=SB&listid=&competitorid=27693&type=result
  2. some data from today's printed issue of "Salzburger Nachrichten" only was a small article though (http://stoked.at/news)
  3. sounds good wondering what they end up doing as for alpine ... so far couldn't find any further info on austrian news sites
  4. damnit I just exploited the visa (prepaid) card I have so I need to upload funds again expect another customer then woohoo this is very cool I shall do a post about it on my site asap :)
  5. you mean something like this? http://stoked.at/pics/summer/Fire1.jpg
  6. ... and that's the way it is ... Go to http://freecarvers.com to sign up cheers and have a good time ...
  7. yeah thanks I might plug it out of stoked.at though cause I want to stay simple and clean as for the design and features of the site and there is no way of smoothly integrating this service since also the sign up is sort of bumpy as in not completely automated after you can automatically sign up for a username I still have to set up the email address for that username ... outsourcing the service to a dedicated email provider for a customizable solution would take care of all that but that costs a lot of money without any coming back since I want it to be a free service so could be that freecarvers.com stands on its own in the future without connection to the weblog at stoked.at in which case I would just set up email accounts for up to 3000 'friends' ;) so the option of getting an account and the service are to stay available of course and also the accounts work just fine and the domain name is pretty cool and my pleasure so only difference for the future could be that instead of the current sign up you send me an email so I can set up an address for you in an informal way
  8. ... and finally it is online ... after a nightmare of transfering that domain to another registrar email accounts @ freecarvers.com are available email client and webmail access ~ 500 MB server space per mailbox ~ anti-virus scanning of all emails and attachments ~ and NO promotional taglines on outgoing emails still there are no guarantees after all I am not the chairman of Yahoo and it is also up to the system of the hosting provider for freecarvers.com so you are free to enjoy at your own risk :) one username and email account per person even though 3000 available accounts should be enough for a while I guess go to http://stoked.at/email.html if you like to sign up cheers and good fun, Bernhard
  9. ... you should get that great pentium 1 game KKND (Krush Kill 'N' Destroy) where you can practise the fight against powerful insects ... as for the ants coming through the patio door each summer I have installed proactive countermeasures early and so far succeeded in keeping their numbers low <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cAwnhXmLJEg&hl=en"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cAwnhXmLJEg&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
  10. ... so this could work out let's hope so I just translated some further details from an austrian business newspaper article of yesterday ( http://stoked.at/news )
  11. or could any creator of high profile snowboard DVDs be interested in including the clip or some footage of it in one of their future releases? whatever could bring cash I guess on top of the exposure for alpine
  12. yeah right I guess some costs could be covered by selling the film to TV sports channels or general channels that cover sports too of course I am anything but an expert I was just thrilled about someone I know who got a couple of his windsurf adventure travel bits onto eurosport and the austrian general ORF channel for its sunday sports show (http://www.chrispressler.com) a lot of stations would air a clip even about a not so popular sport as long as the clip shows something that is spectacular enough also for a general audience ... occasional clips about surfing are shown on austrian TV only for their spectacular imagery about an exotic sport called surfing and surely not to only cater to a few that are actually into the sport around here ... guess you already thought about this and am wondering whether you see any sense in pursuing this? guess in case it worked out it could also cross finance a good price for other ways of distribution or maybe what I wrote was all babble and I should just wish you good luck ... (anyway thanks for your feedback gonna see about making a higher quality embed of your teaser happen) (edit - works on a link but seems to be ignored in embedded code I added it anyway)
  13. youtube is cool for embedding stuff :) http://stoked.at/news anyway this shortfilm seems to be awesome ... is it determined yet what bonus features are to be included on the DVD / Blue Ray? I think I read something about 40 minutes on the EC forum I mean with good bonus features on top of the 7 minute film it would DEFINITELY be a cool disc I would spend money on too also just to have it on the shelf a great alpine snowboarding disc I mean even in case anybody leaked it on the net somewhere ...
  14. oh thanks for that download link I wasn't aware of this
  15. sure although I will quit for good on my next birthday and there is no way around doing so - damnit only about 2 weeks left :)
  16. speaking from experience of 10 years ago I liked Universal way better than Disneyland near LA (was it called Anaheim to which we spent too many hours on the bus traveling to? a couple of hours in the other world were enough though seemed to be soooooooo only for kids except for this in the dark rollercoaster ride which was actually somewhat radical) anyway I just loved the Back to the future ride at Universal that one rocked :) did find the raise of general entrance fee every year a bit harsh though wouldn't be surprised if they were at 60 bucks or more by now
  17. I checked out some german articles and translated some of the details for a post at http://stoked.at/news - do hope they get over this since anyway F2 gone would be a loss for sure ...
  18. omg 2005? I got to riding a bit again this year at least after an achilles tendon injury and no riding in 2006 still you got the snow coming at your place so no compassion for you from me except of course all the best to your wife ...
  19. again thanks for the interview I got earlier from someone claiming to be the owner of the company so that post about it is <a href="http://stoked.at/news" target="_blank">here</a>
  20. which one would you recommend for me? I am 180 cm and about 80 kilos I have never carved in softboots since the nail system seems very versatile I could use that old pair of Burton bindings from the garage on this one ...
  21. since I hate Helly Hansen clothing I won't share any advice
