I'm 5' 3", 140 lbs., but have always loved the stability of longer boards (except for a couple of Burner 197s that I sold to Bola and Doug years ago.. were waaay too long & stiff for this ewok). Want something fairly forgiving but will lock in when you really hammer down. The pawnshop price on this still virgin FP 178 I couldn't turn down. -CK

Associated Press news report: Vermont: Burton Snowboards founder Jake Burton Carpenter was rushed to Burlington Medical Center for mild heart failure today. His comments: "I was sitting at home eating breakfast and all of a sudden, I get this pain like hot steel ripping through my chest.....It was weird, man!" Mr. Burton's condition is listed as stable and expects to resume day to day operations of Burton Snowboards.

NEW '02/'03? 172 Donek Axxess - w/BOL logo Never been mounted or ridden. Has the BOL logo screened into the topsheet behind the rear inserts. Only "blems" are a topsheet bubble across the tail transition and a light, discolored spot on topsheet from a Burton stomp pad that came with it (I pulled it off... I mean ...a STOMP PAD on a Donek?) See pics. I adopted it from a previous owner who had plans to turn it into a monoski. (No it wasn't Monoski Don..lol) Was told it was from Sean's 02-03 stable. Is this accurate? Is it for a special run for BOL? I am just CONSIDERING selling it at this point, so would like some feedback on what a fair price would be. Maybe I can be nudged to let her go. Any clue as to what's fair? Thanks campers. -Charles

Why young lady....<i>(insert Yiddish accent of an 80 yr old guy from Long Guyland)</i><br>I learned to ski with some crappy no name 160cm skis with screwed in edges, cable bindings, long thong straps that would windmill and slice your jugular when you yard saled, plus some leather boots with elastic laces and I thought I was KING SH*T! :D<p>Until I bought a pair of used Head 190 metal sandwich GS skis, Marker Rotomats and Nordica Astral Slaloms (I challenge anyone here to remember those! lol) That setup instantly humbled me...but I got good (okay,....mediocre) real fast by buddying up to the guys on the Saranac Lake NY high school race team and following their ruts through the gates at 10 below zero. Such a yutz I was.<i>(End accent)</i> So far as my boys...<br>My 17 year old on a visit from GA was linking turns in 30 mins <br>My 15 year old sat down and cried on the bunny slope 'cause it was "too scary" ...Oy vey.<br>My 7 year old is going to have to wait 'til the 08-09 season to make tracks with Dad, but he's currently jumping off playground equipment, doing 360s in the air and sticking the landing perfectly! Ah, I remember the fancy free days being a single professional musician that just moved to Denver in the early 80s. Making turns (was still on skis back then) all day at Loveland, Keystone, Breck, even worked one whole season at the "Boat in 89-90 and playing drums at night. was even too busy making turns to chase chicks. THAT was the life!!!! Usually over 100 days on snow. But I digress..... This year, I got 2...count 'em ...2 days on snow in 07-08. Am married,.....with children....kill me, please kill me.

Can anybody clue me in on this board? Just picked it up and don't know a lot about it except it's about 170-172 depending how you measure it, tip is 27, waist is a bit over 21, tail a bit over 26. Obviously an all mtn carver? Can 't wait to ride her. Or,...in true Ebay fashion, we can start the bidding at $40,000. :D (That was a joke.....) It's got the BOL logo silk screened on it.
