  1. New Coiler 165 VSR All Mountain XTight - approx 10.5 m sidecut, 21 cm waist, with goofy asym core.:D
  2. I don't think I have ever seen, or heard of any issues with metal Coilers...
  3. This is not the kind of crap I come to see when I visit this forum. Some advice for the OP: think twice about what you say on a public forum, and how your words might be interpreted. I'm sorry to say, but you just made yourself look like a total *******. Grow up.
  4. http://gopro.com/hd-hero2-cameras/ This camera has really been updated. Improved lens, variable field of view, 11 megapixels, improved low light performance, and WIFI remote control and live streaming from your phone! The sample video reel really shows off the image quality improvements made with this model.
  5. I have not used a Basalt tripod, but it seems they are a budget (if that term even applies to Gitzo) offering from these manufacturers with performance between the low end aluminum tube models, and the 6X carbon weave tubes. Interesting to see this material being used in skis.
  6. Hi Brian, Another forum I frequent has a thread on SquareUp, http://www.flickr.com/groups/photographyforrealestate/discuss/72157626549634727/ Tony
  7. I remember the carving magazine we had years ago. I loved it. So looking forward to this new Hardboot porn. My bathroom is full of ski magazines now...
  8. Dan said these are a special order item, available in september. I have friends who ski using this type of liner, and they all say how great they are. My feet are wide, and flat. I seem to only have an issue along the outside edge of my foot, at the widest point. Mostly on my left foot. I do have custom orthotics too. I am pretty sure I will be ordering a pair of these in september. I really like the boots otherwise, and I think they are a good boot for wide feet. Thanks for the input!
  9. I have just done a quick search on UPZ foam injectable liners on the forum, and did not come up with much. Has anyone here bought the UPZ foam injectable liners? What do you think of them? I have a tailors bunion on both feet that got worse with my new UPZ's this season. I did get the boots punched out, which relieved the problem to a certain extent on my right foot, but my left foot continues to give me some pain. I suspect I need to punch out the boot a little more yet, but also suspect that my foot is moving around a bit inside the boot, making the problem worse. I am wondering if the foam liners would help with this problem by doing a better job of locking my foot down in the boot. Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated. Thanks.
  10. Awesome video. You just put a HUGE smile on my face. Packing up the kids right now do some night skiing and carving. It's year 22 for me, and I just love it more and more each year. :D
  11. Nice work on all the different camera angles. Who do the music credits belong to? I like that song...
  12. I bought a pair of these boots this season too. I have found that mine needed to be worn at home, while they were warm(room temp), to get them to conform to my feet(for about an hour each time). I also found, that when I removed the liners, and lifted the velcro tab that keeps the tongue of the liner in place, and moved it as far forward towards the toe as possible, that this got rid of the pinching I was experiencing at the top of my foot from the tongue of the liner. I also noticed, that when doing up the boots, if I grabbed the little loop at the top of the liner tongue, and pulled up on the loop, at the same time pushing the black plastic piece off to the side a bit, while doing up the buckles, that they were much more comfortable. That last thing that really made them comfortable, was placing my custom orthotics from my shoes into them just the other night. Funny thing though, when I first got these boots, and placed my orthotics into them, they were painful as hell. Pure torture. The liners really needed a few days to pack down a bit, and conform to my feet. Now they are great. Good luck. Foot pain sucks.
  13. Bruce built me this VSR 23cm wide. It's a wonderful ride. Worth every penny, and worth the wait.
  14. Hey Bobby, I just watched your video. I had to laugh when you talk about the G loading, and feeling it in your back. I have been riding longboards all summer long, so my legs are in great shape. But my back, oh boy! You can really feel it in your lower back the next day after pushing this board hard. It's way too much fun. :D p.s. I love that woody topsheet. I have seen a few in person, and they are even more impressive when seen first hand. One of my future boards will have that topsheet for sure.
  15. Bobby, its a 173 Tight(approx sidecut 11.5 M) VSR, 23cm wide.
  16. Turn it tight, or turn it long, ride it as fast as you want to go, this board is an awesome ride. Next year, I am going to get a shorter, and narrower one. This one is a 173. I luv this board.
  17. Valsam, are you trying to compare the costs of the new isolation plates to the cost of a skate board or longboard deck? There is a ton of development that went into the new isolation decks, not to mention, that there is far more hardware to be designed and manufactured for these plates systems, than there will ever be needed for a skateboard deck. Besides, there are plenty of longboard decks out there that cost between $200-$400 just for the deck alone. I think you are way out of line suggesting that alpine snowboard manufacturers are making huge profit margins on their product lines. You really think you can build a modern alpine deck for $100 worth of materials? I highly doubt it. You seem to have a long history here of constantly bitching about the price of new snowboards, particularly the metal ones(that you have not even ridden). The snowboard manufacturers that I am familiar with are certainly not living in the lap of luxury. They are decent people trying to make a living developing great new products, and trying to provide themselves, and their families with a decent way of life, just like any other honest business owner. You DO get what you pay for. $700-$1000 is not out of line for a new custom board. I paid $400 for my first snowboard in the late 80's. Is that what you expect to pay for a board today? If so, you are living in a dreamworld. Wake up, nothing good in life is cheap or easy.
  18. I get a huge kick out of some of your responses, murky as they may be. You most often clarify them in later posts anyway. It is often difficult to read a posters true intent initially in some threads, but that's what makes the interweb and these forums so entertaining, to me anyway. The Commissioner Gordon post in particular made me LOL...now let me get back to my lurking... :D
  19. Congratulations Scrapster! You made a great choice. That board is on my list of boards to add to my quiver. Here is a thread on Silverfish about Superglider set-ups: http://www.silverfishlongboarding.com/forum/longboarding-resources-q/80447-official-superglider-army-setup-thread.html you should find plenty of ideas there.
  20. I am anxiously awaiting these too. :D
  21. Anyone read Japanese or know anything about this new model?
  22. I'm going sunday, and coming back thursday night. Let me know what you need. We could meet at the border. Beer is good.:D
  23. It seems to me, that there are a few people here on BOL that have been giving T.Stoughton a hard time about his new product. It also seems to me that those people being the harshest, have not even tried the stuff. The above posting of his website has reviews by some prominent BOL members that have only good things to say about the product when they used it. So perhaps those that have anything negative to say, should hold off until they have tried it. I think that product announcements or "marketing" are sometimes the only way I might hear about products such as this. This IS the place for them. And no, I have not tried the wax, but I probably will after reading about it here on BOL.
  24. The Sole insoles do not get as soft an pliable as thermoflex liners when you heat them. In fact, I only noticed a gradual softening of the material when it was hot. They did change shape slightly however, and are very comfy indeed.
