  1. I'll most likely be at loveland both tuesday and wednesday.
  2. I'm in for the cole slaw. I may need to borrow some sort of container to bring it up in, unless you want it in the cardboard box my last Amazon book order came in.
  3. Jen, Between the 6th and the 22nd, I should be able to do loveland almost any day. Let me know when you want to use your lovey tickets, and I can be there. The only 2 bad days are going to be for 2 final exams at school, but I don't remember which two those are off the top of my head.
  4. Trying to finish up the quarter at school right now... next week is finals, but I'm only worried about one of them. Starting this Friday, I'm going to try to get at least 10 days in over the next 2 weeks, maybe more. So, with that said, if anyone wants to carpool any time between the 6th and the 22nd, I'm definitely in. Hoping a lot of days of practice in a short period of time will let me put everything together.
  5. Ha! Just started rereading that book this week.
  6. It was great riding with everyone today. I'm definitely getting a better feel for where I need to be on the board, and how to get myself there. I think getting a week of practice over spring break will help me get a lot of things together.
  7. I'm in for Monday, Friday, and Sunday at Lovey.
  8. Cool... Other option is Tommyknocker, also in Idaho Springs. They might have some CCP stashed away somewhere...
  9. So, with Monday being my birthday, would anyone have time to grab some lunch after hitting the slopes? I was thinking Beau Jo's in Idaho Springs, if anyone's not busy the rest of the day.
  10. Saturday looks good for me.
  11. I'm pretty sure I've got finals that week.... which means I'm definitely going to be on the hill before them. I've got a couple of softbooter friends from school who have shown some interest. We'll see if they actually abandon their studying and head up. Any chance of having a few demo setups there for potential carvers to check out?
  12. I can do Monday or Wednesday, and probably Friday too. Lovey for me, too broke to buy a ticket anywhere else.
  13. This week I'm enjoying Tommyknocker's Imperial Nut Brown Ale. Good stuff.
  14. So it's starting to look like I've got a decent chance to go abroad fall semester, and due to my lack of decent foreign language skills, I'm probably limited to English speaking countries. New Zealand seems to be at the top of the list. My school has arrangements with 3 universities in NZ: University of Auckland University of Otago University of Canterbury, in Christchurch If it all works out, I'll be there from July to November, so I'd like to be able to get to the slopes pretty regularly, but I also want to experience as much of the country as I can. I'm not hugely concerned with the differences in course offerings between the schools, since if I get to go, I won't need anything there for my major or minors. Any suggestions or advice?
  15. Never been on a board that didn't make me smile, even the crappy rental on day 1.
  16. Man, I should have gone today... hours and hours of studying did absolutely no good for this midterm. Of course, at least 1/3 of the class didn't even get to the back side of the exam, so at least I wasn't the only one suffering. Can't wait for the weekend... been practicing my carpet surfing, and Mario's advice on tweaking my stance seems to have helped.
  17. Wednesday is looking doubtful... got a midterm that night, and I'm not quite sure how much I need to study yet. I might make it up for a short day to put myself in a good mood before the exam.
  18. I tried to email you, but you've got it turned off. Give me a call sometime today, preferably not between 2 and 6. seven two oh three six five thirty fifty-nine
  19. First chair til noon is the plan, depending on crowds and conditions. Gotta save some strength for Saturday, too.
  20. I'm planning on Loveland both Friday and Saturday. No spare cash for lift tickets anywhere else right now, or I'd try to make it to Copper. As always, I'm up for carpooling.
  21. I70 wasn't too bad today. It was backed up about 5 miles from the tunnel when I was heading up, but moving 20-30mph. I don't know how bad it was on the other side of the tunnel.
  22. Felt like about 6" up there today... not normal CO powder though, wetter and heavier. As a powder day, it wasn't so great. As a practice day for carving, it was just what I needed. The snow was so choppy I had to bend my knees or get launched into the woods... Even on softies and the dupraz, I got a lot of good practice on body position. Trying to angulate on toeside hasn't worked well for me, but consciously driving my hips down into the turn comes naturally, and has some angulation as a side effect. Hopefully the heavier snow will pack down nicely for us tomorrow. I'm at the point where it has to be a truly epic powder day for me to prefer it over hardpack. 6" of chop just doesn't cut it.
  23. +2 on Jack's article. I had a heelside breakthrough this week, and it became much stronger than my toeside. Fortunately, by random chance, I'd read the linked article that morning, and luckily remembered enough of it to pull things together.
  24. Taking ova this thread, too, from the looks of things!
  25. I was thinking the same thing... pretty sure we've had double digits at Loveland the last two Saturdays.
