  1. Congratulations on the new site... it´s a charme... a 10 Years leap forward... I´ll be sharp and testing tomorrow:ices_ange Edit: what do you mean with: "No promise we'll publish, ...... " are posting rules changed?
  2. Here´s a Pic of today from a Friend who lives there in St.Anton. Seems he was more digging big style rather than boarding much:eek:
  3. Do not excuse yourselves too early, Max... I personally think you are right.. and so is Norm(an).... and Jack... How could you (and I admit... I... ) know there is a section around, currently updated somewhere, called Norm, but without a referral as spoken of it?? Paragraph 23, section 2 seems to give the answer... where the heck is it? As a wannabe-scientist... I would also state the term "Norm" directly as "the least it (you) must forfill /must-have-level" ... and that would be definitely crazy. After seeing Beckmanns post.... Why call it Norm?? just call it "inclination only" and we are all at the same level of thoughts again... It is an insider term, I guess............
  4. @ Jack... did some fast research.... probably it is a Japanese Rider, Manabu Kobayashi.
  5. pretty much the same here... Know I am in there, but none more... did Alexis put a photo of me naked on a table in Aspen or Sölden???? Scoring Beers or Chicks?? myselves I don´t know.... mag did not arrive yet... Happy NewYears, to all of you Edgecrazy Scumbags !!
  6. A little late but: YES , I know her.... Her name is Regi and she is from Zürich, CH Met Regi and her Boyfriend Dominic a few times in Soelden, Austria. Also at the time these shots were taken.
  7. Phil is pretty much right in the American / European thing. The best bang for your Buck you should seek in the Euro zone itselves. Hell, Phil even was at one of our closing sessions in Sölden Austria and shot some MAJOR pictures there (I´m still full of respect for yor photographing skills, Phil!!) Regarding your search, I can actually only offer you following procedure: - Buy boots first, and they must fit properly. It´s the most important. And the most individual. - Then, see to it that you connect with other hardbooters wherever on the planet. I would even invite you to an opening session in Sölden Austria for that. Most of us HB-ing geeks have a ton of hardware in our cars. And we are happy to lend you some for "sports-promotion-sake". You could have my Pogo Impact at any time, maybe even a Virus Cyborg if you´re up to the challenge. Bindings would be found too. As long as you have Intecs mounted, I can provide easily. I am not alone at such a session, so you can find all kinds of people, carvingstyles, material, and even the manufacturers there - Test boards as you can get them. Board choices are overrated at first. Work on proper technique. Do not buy expensive stuff untill you are sure what direction you want to go. The main point is: get together with other hardbooters. You can learn so much. Age is NOT a limiting factor here. Probably you´ll learn more in a weekend than you would do driving alone for a season. Or reading/talking in a forum. You would be able to eat from their knowledge and driving skills. Hell yes..even a one-to-one teaching session is possible. Nothing new! Don´t know about the hill situation around London (probably zero) but the Alps are not that far off.
  8. For you UK guys, you also might want to check the classifieds section in the German hardbooters forum www.frozen-backside.de . Although most is in German, there is also an english section, and all members do speak english if needed. Shipping to the UK from here is no big deal. CU there:biggthump
  9. here´s a nice one from Pokkis too from last season.....
  10. Due to the short sole, it might be that the boots are too far to the rear in the bindings. There is a small "center line" between heel and toe piece on the bottom of the boots, they should nearly match the binding middle. Raichle / Deeluxe have that center line too.
  11. Guys, Do NOT "bake" those Flow liners !!!! It has body temperature (steadily) adapting gel-material inside. Not the famous bake foam. They are not like Intuition or Thermoflex liners. you will ruin the flows them if you handle them like intuitions or deeluxes. 50-60°C for molding maxx is what I heard, said inofficially from a very official source I will countercheck asap and let you know on this channel.
  12. the new shells are T-nutted. so no big deal. The only thing you really must do is really crank them one time, because although they are T-nutted, those nuts are not driven all the way flat to where they should be. (check from the inside with a flashlight!!) A hint is to take a longer, metric m5 allen head bolt and some fitting washers not to damage the heel when cranking. No locktite there yet! Actually you will pull the nuts in place, nicely aligned with the heel holes, although some other people still prefer beating them the hell in place from above Apply locktite only with the final (shipped with heels) bolts (I assume they are M5 metric too) get mounted. If you dont directly jam them, the T-nuts will set while riding, the heel will loosen up, and locktite makes that you cannot fasten easily
  13. great so far. Reason for renewal is that I downsized half a size. I noticed a thermal isolation layer unerneath the standard insole in the liner. Better materials seem to be used. The perforated part is new. Some flexible carbonstuff around the top of the cuff too and outer heel inforcements. Still the great locked heel feeling as with the former liner. As it was -4°C I cannot tell more about how it behaves wenn it´s really cold.
  14. Last but not the least, new Flo Liner..... BTW. I just went from 09-10 RC10 to 10-11 RC10.....to early to really tell, but promising so far.... 4th Buckle seems repositioned, Inserts for heels are in already..... etc. First impression is great...
  15. Hi all, Wolfgang Aigner (Mr. UPZ) posted me the newest prospect a while ago, as is wasn´t online yet. Here´s some cuts from it: RC10 first
  16. +1 on the GoPro HD Allee, they´re not a pain at all, as long as your editing software can handle that MP4, and can export in AVI or Quicktime (10 times lesser data then AVI) formats. But one needs a lot of Ram/CPU for rendering. will send you and Dave a PM with a sample Eric
  17. Hi Arjen... just a comment from another Mountainless other dutch colleague:ices_ange UPZ MACH are ancient, and RSV are old and too stiff especially under lower temperatures. If you´re looking for modern stuff with proper inliners, then check for UPZ RC-10. The best on my feet; I´ve even banned the T700 by deeluxe to dust gatherers due to the RC-10:biggthump
  18. Ace, you got mail..... @all here is a low resolution movie online... http://freecarvers.com/shredders/video/gallery/CM20X working with Thomas to get a more detailed version online... but might take a while. and some here from my Helmetcam, a day before the event. also in low-res untill I can upload it to Vimeo in HD http://www.myvideo.de/watch/7536744/Carving_Masters_2010_a_day_before_the_event have fun watching:biggthump Eric
  19. there is some online.... and some waiting to get online Ace, I can only offer you following for now got an email address to send you a link?
  20. .... will be heard Here´s a small pic gallery... http://frozenbackside.jalbum.net/CM%20xx%20gepimpt/ probably more to follow as soon as we figure it out how to easily present them
  21. ....there is nothing better then approx 300 carving maniacs on a glacier...... It was definitely great. For firsttimers as well as for the Sölden-inhabitant-carvers. Definitely too much to go into all details, but it was a mighty event. Lots of manufacturers joined personally like Rabanser, Goltes, Pureboarding, F2, G-Force, Sense, SG, Apex, Plasma, Oxess and Virus. Also retailers offering tuning tools and bindings, as well as imported boards like Prior and Donek. What I personally think was the greatest, is that both Deeluxe and UPZ were there themselves, and brought the whole lineup in several sizes to try out. Weather was OK but Sunday foggy. Basically icy in the morning and slush shortly after. Ideal conditions Incredible event, with great parties, major high level carving onslope, and it sure was like a big family alltogether. What a spirit ! I might edit in some Pics later.
  22. Last call.....:) Next week the alps in Soelden, Austria will be rocked by approx 250-300 hardbooters:biggthump don´t miss it if you have the chance:ices_ange
  23. I can do that for you..... just send me a PN on the FB forum But you have to send the board to Austria since I will be there tomorrow:)
