  1. SALE PENDING! Dynastar 3800 163. Semi swallow tail, soft pointed nose. Very fun in powder but will still carve well on soft groom. Condition on top and bottom would rate around an 7-7.5. Has some scratches on the base and topsheet. Still has a lot of life left. Wasn't going to sell it buy my Dupraz is even better than this in powder. Price is $175 shipped in lower 48.
  2. I started out on pre-2000 gear. Learned a lot in 3 years and have gradualy been getting newer equipment. The newer board (2008) with titanal butterflys is a good bit easier to ride than the pre-2000 boards, but my Burner is still a fun ride. I am now convinced that new shapes and construction will take my riding up a notch. I've seen a rider that has switched from old school to a custom Kessler and how much his riding improved. Was an amazing transition. Made a good rider totally rip now. I'm ready to take this step into the new world of carving. I would equate the development in carving boards to be similar to what has happened with automobiles. Same basic concept that has been around for years but new technologies have made driving them faster much easier. Look at all the new electronic improvments in a performance automobile that have came out on production cars within the last 15 yrs. A lot of that tech was derived from F1 etc. Same thing has happened in carving boards from WC tech.
  3. Have decided to hold onto these and see if they might resolve the little bit of heel lift I have. Selling boots with Scarpa Intuition wrap around liners if you are looking for something though.
  4. Still for sale. Will sell these with Scarpa Intuition liners in 26.5. Molded 2 times and were fitted for these boots for $180 shipped. I think I will hold on to the Zipfit and see if it helps with my heel lift. Or will sell shells only for $80 shipped. I want a new metal board! Please buy them!
  5. G-Force Razor 164 softboot carver. Riden 3 days VG+ $325 shipped. Also have an old but never used Burton Alp 150 Asym with the red wood topsheet. Appears to never have had bindings mounted on it. Very pretty. Was going to hang it on the wall. $150 shipped OBO.
  6. I've gone from my AF700's to SB323s. Added yellow top and blue bottom BTS springs. Very comfy. I can ride my SG Cult about anywhere. Do tight trees, steep bumps, launch off stuff, ride powder, and carve groomers. All but the later were doable in the AF's but a lot less comfortable. I love softer flex in boots for AM/FC type riding. Use standard SnowPro Race and Nidecker FC bindings. Might be a better route than totally cutting up a stiff race boot.
  7. Check with Bomber. I got a pair of the AF tongues in black from them to soften up my AF700's. I think they were around $30-40 for the set of new ones. They might have the SB type too.
  8. Don't forget the SG Cult. It is a blast to ride all mountain, floats like a boat in pow, and is a great freecarve board. It will lay over for full carve turns on nice cord too. It is my go to board if I'm doing more riding than just carving in hardboots. For more of a freeride board look at Dupraz D1+ or D1++.
  9. Wouldn't it be good if they had runs designated for carving only Some perfectly groomed, wide and steep runs. No one allowed on unless you are riding hard boots or carving specific gear.
  10. Donek Incline is great at carving in softies. Can do about everything else too. Wouldn't be that great in the park but would work. Otherwise a freeride board could work. I used an Arbor A-frame a few years ago. Carves decent and I was doing 50-50s on handrails with it. A twin tip with soft flex would do much better in the park though. Most freeride or carving boards are directional and stiff. They will launch well but you better land straight.
  11. Lots of them everywhere you go. I wait for breaks in the crowds. If it is too crowded on blues, we have some nice black groomed runs that no one straight lines down. Can carve here but it is a lot harder since they are so steep. Only people going faster on these runs are skiers doing GS type turns. These skiers know what they are doing and won't crash into you from behind. Unfortunately in the Mid Atlantic region, you don't have many if any runs that would fit into this catagory. If someone does clobber you from behind report them to ski patrol as they are breaking the law. Hopefully they will at least pull their pass for the day.
  12. I saw a pair of 26m on e-bay. Not sure which model but they looked like they were in great shape. Do you have a narrow heel too? I just got some new 323's in 1/2 size small and still have problems with my narrow foot and heel. I would like to find something that works but I like a softer flex. Seems like most of the narrower boots are stiff race boots.
  13. I have 3 different alpine boards. All three have different waist widths raning from 18 cm - 23.5 cm. I have all set up so toe and heel are aligned on the edge. I can switch between the boards and have no problems carving any of them. A couple of turns and they feel comfy again. Go for optimum performance.
  14. I just swapped out my old AF700's for some NOS SB323s. I went down from a 26.5 to 26. I just have the stock liners in them that are not moldable. I wore them around the house for several hours just to kind of break them in. Tried them out for the 1st time today on some chopped up crud. Still have trouble with my heel raising up even though they felt nice and snug before riding. I have narrow feet and ankles. Are these shells going to work out for me? I have a set of Scarpa Intuition liners in 26.5 (feet measured 26.7). Had the same problem but not quite as substancial with the 26.5 shells. Would these maybe fill in the shells better? Should I try my ZipFit liners that I have forsale? I prefer the wrap around liners to the ones with tongues. I always get some pressure points from the nonwrap one.
  15. I did have a Bailey's with hot cocoa when I had to take a break. Temps were zero at the lowest lift and it was overcast. I didn't get too uncomfortable. Just the ends of my big toes started to hurt after a few runs. Did some mogle runs on my SG Cult and that warmed me up a good bit. Overall not a bad day. Did have to buy my son some new glove liners as he was miserable after about 1 hour. After that and some hot cocoa he was good for the rest of the day.
  16. My 160 Proton has been a ton of fun too. Wish we could get some carving conditions again but I'll take the powder. Will be good for my Durpaz that is in the mail
  17. Got the full beard in effect. Once it ices up seems to provide good insulation. Might have to skip the helmet so I can use my hood or I might see if I can wear it under the helmet. Got silk undies. Will be trying some new hardboots with a very snug fit and ultra thin socks. That might be my downfall. The antipersperant might do the trick. Thanks for all the advice Will see how it goes. Worried about my son the most. I guess he could quit practice early if it gets to bad for him. I'll just go to the little cabin with the wood stove and fully stocked bar to get out of the cold. It's right down from the run with the mogles course. He knows where to find me :p
  18. I don't have real heavy gear for riding in super cold. Any tips? I was thinking 2 pairs of thermals, fleece jacket, with shell over that and lined pants. I have super warm mits. How can I keep my face from freezing up? Expectin high of 10 with wind chill around -20. Too much powder to not go riding and my son has practice for mogles comp on Sun. Just don't want to get frost bite or anything.
  19. Very interested. Please send board specs. Thanks!
  20. Been a few years since I've been to SLC. Good to know that some of those quirks are fixed. I do remember a good local porter. I need to take another road trip up that way soon.
  21. Solitude is a nice quite mountain. Just down the road from Brighton. Very nice terrain to boot. I think you can take a shuttle bus and get on the train to go to any of the other resorts. Beer is only 3.2 unless you get a temp membership to a bar. Then 5.0 is the limit. If I remember correctly, you have to buy food to get beer. Weird laws there.
  22. sold! Here is a set of like new ZipFit liners in 26.5M. Non moldable. See post below. Will take $25 shipped to lower 48 for them.
  23. BOOTS HAVE BEEN SOLD! These have a softer tongue than stock. I have the race tongues somewhere. I'll just have to dig them up. The lower shell is marked with a 26.5M only. These have been modified with ski boot buckles and a power strap. They have new heel and toe pads. No forward lean adjustment. Just walk/ride mode. I have a beat up RAB spring set that would work on them that I can throw in. Want $100 for them shipped in the lower 48. Also have a set of ZipFit Espresso liners that are like new for $100. See my other add. If you wanted both the liners and boots I'll package them together for $180.
  24. Pic of one minor scratch. Has some very slight scratchs that run down the length of the board where I ran over some small gravel on a cat walk. Will coat board with shipping wax.
  25. Here are pics of the board. Bindings are not included in the sale. Will include them for $50. They are link lithium size M. I think they will fit a size 6-9. They have an adjustable base plate for length of boot. Very stiff.
