  1. Yep, CB = Crested Butte. It is a lot bigger than Monarch. It has a lot of steep extreem terrain. A lot of steep groomers. Very fun mountain. It is a big resort about the size of T-ride but a little less expensive and they have more deals out there. I like Monarch too. I got 2 free days there that I plan on using. Wolf Creek is pretty close to you. Have you been there? I haven't made it down there yet but wanted to check it out sometime. I've moved here 3 years ago from the East Coast so haven't got to hit all the mountains yet. Will probably be a while till I can upgrade. We are building a new house and money is tight. Not to mention that I had to buy new ski and board gear for my 7 yr old and new boot for the wife and I got myself a new softboot board and binding set up. I'm sure I'll get hooked on the carving and will find a way to buy new stuff at some point though.
  2. Don't know about the store. I actually live about 1.5 hours west of c/b. I usually go to T-ride but like c/b a lot. They have built a ton of new stuff in the village and expanded the terrain with some new lifts(mostly intermediate).
  3. Cold weather and chance of snow forcasted for the rest of this week. By Xmass you should be good.:)
  4. Stranton, VT is pretty nice. It is where they have had the US snowboarding championships forever.
  5. Getting the Burtons. MO on the way! Now we just need some snow over here:rolleyes:
  6. Thanks for the info. I'm purchasing some Burtons from a guy that are 26-26.5. I think these are going to work for me.
  7. http://cgi.ebay.com/Rossignol-HARD-ALPINE-RACE-Snowboard-Boots-size-26-NEW_W0QQitemZ160176118636QQihZ006QQcategoryZ21249QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem Will these boots work for me? I measured my foot at 25.56cm long. Are the going to last a while till I can get some experience and upgrade my equipment later? They look kind of dated, but if they would work I would buy them for this price.
  8. Foot came out to 25.56 cm long. So I need whatever size this comes out to. Thanks for the info.
  9. What angle are the edges cut to? Is it best to do a 89deg edge? What type of wax is best? Can you use standard snowboard wax? Never tuned a hardboot board before. Thanks.
  10. Need a pair of boots in decent condition on the cheap. Just getting started and trying to find some gear so I can ride. I measured my foot and I think I need a 25.5 mondo. I wear a size 8.5 US. Please e-mail me at jenintmk3@yahoo.com if you have any for sale.
  11. Looks like my Mondo size = 25.5. If anybody has a pair for cheap, please let me know.
  12. What is the link to the e-bay auction listing?
  13. So, would it be best to toss the binding and get some new ones? Are there any boots that fit these still around?
  14. I figured that this board will probably work out for me as I like a real stiff board anyhow. I love to go real fast with softboots so this seems like the best thing for me to get into. If we ever get any snow I hope to try it out soon.
  15. I'll see if I can find what Mondo size I am. Only kind of riding I have ever done is soft boot boarding so this is all new to me. I attached a pic of the board and a close up of the bindings. I'm not even sure if this is the step in type of binding or not? This board is very stiff feeling to me. It is a lot stiffer than my A-frame which is way stiff for a regular board.
  16. Thanks for the info. I don't really know anything about these boards. I will post pics soon. I wear a size 8.5-9. Our season is getting off pretty slow here as we have had very warm temps. C/B opened today with a couple of green runs.
  17. Hello. I just purchased an older Rossignal carving board with bindings. The bindings look like they may be step ins? They have 4x4 on the mounting disks and a "B" inside a 9 pronged claw looking design embosed on them. The board is a Dueltech and is 156cm long. I weigh 160 and I'm 5' 9" tall. Would this be a good size for me. I have never riden a carving board before. I have been riding an Arbor A-frame but found this for $35 in VG shape. Always wanted to try carving as it looks like a ton of fun. Another thing I need to find out is what type boot I need to fit these bindings? Would like to find some used ones in my size if posible. Thanks in advance. Live on the western slope of CO if anybody is interested in helping me get started.
