  1. Be sure and check out the Glenwood Hotsprings. A lot of times you can also get deals with lodging and free tics to Sunshine which is just outside of GWS. Haven't been there myself, but haven't heard anything bad about it.
  2. Addaware and Xsoft are good programs that find tracking cookies and stuff. Subscriptions are cheap too. Norton Anti virus has been pretty much useless for this kind of stuff.
  3. Never had that happen with paypal but have had a ton from e-bay. You can log into your account on e-bay and if you have the same mail in your ebay mailbox as you got with your standard mail it is legit otherwise it is bogus. If you have any question, always confirm it by going to your ebay account directly(not through the regular e-mail letter which tries to get your password). You can report phishing e-mail to e-bay safeharbor. I don't remember the address but you can forward your phony e-bay letter to something like spoof@ebay.com or something and the are supposed to investigate it. Also, once you find a scam mail add it to your spam list and it will filter out any more from this same IP address. Hope this helps.
  4. Here is a pic of my set up. This is with a 19" stance and 45 and 40 degree angles. Remember, this will be my first time hardbooting. The picture makes the boots stick out more than they look to in reality. I can lay the board over perpendicular to the floor without them touching. Appears that there may be about 1" of setback towards the rear? Doesn't say anything about it in the specs though. Just has a base stance of 46cm.
  5. Silverton rents all the gear you need. Right now, I think they only have guided skiing/boarding with a group. Haven't got up the nerve to ride there yet either. Would love to try it sometime when I get better legs under me. Only riden 1 day so far. Don't forget that Crested Butte is free right now and they have snow forcasted through Sun!
  6. Thanks for all the info. I've looked at the welcome center tips stuff. That is where I got my initial settings from. Was just wondering if the type of board makes any difference in the set up used. It feels pretty comfy standing in the lv. I can go from edge to edge and ballance it by flicking my ankles back and forth. I always ride a softboot setup with at least 34 degrees in the front so the sharper angles aren't too bad. I tried riding a freestyle board last weekend with around 20 degrees and I could barely ride it. Looks like we are getting more pow this weekend so I don't know if I'll get to try it out or not. First sunny day and I'll be on it. I'll take my gear with me just in case.
  7. Hey Skeez, I thing you are out of touch with what is hip now. Run DMC is much cooler than PE now and the red jump suit has given way to the new 1 piece spandex body suit in neon. Don't forget to put some zinca on the nose!
  8. Have a 160 with 136 effective edge. Waist is 21. Board is supposed to be a AM/FC board. It seems real stiff in the center and softer on both ends. My question is about stance and angles. TD2 bindings with 3 deg cants on both ends. I'm 5'9" tall and weigh 160. Boot size is 26.5M. I was going to start with a centered position on the board with about 18.5" between both bindings center to center. The angles I was looking at are 50 on front and around 47.5 on the back. This is where I can have my toe and heels the closest to the edge. Would this be a good place to start? Should I spread out the stance some more with the cant disks? Should the bindings be placed further back on this type of board? Sorry for all the questions, but want to get it close before going out with the new set up.
  9. Yeah. That is where I first saw it was on Youtube. It has some killer footage on it. When was this made? Looks like some older stuff but the riding is better than almost all softboot stuff I've seen. If you can do all that stuff on hardboots I might just get rid of my softies:eplus2:
  10. 2 types of construction. Cap will look kind of thin on the side of the board. The Quazi was a cap construction. The other main type is sandwich. It is a thicker looking sidewall. These are generally a better design. I think all the new Arbors are made this way. The woody that I had with the green man on the bottom was a sandwich constuction.
  11. Looks like another system is moving in for the end of this week! Will be back on the slopes all weekend. Was hoping to get some nice groomers to try out hardboot set up, but I'll take powder also. Soon as it gets sunny when I have a free day I'll definitelly be in hardboots.
  12. Anybody have a copy of this lying around that they would like to sell? VHS or DVD would be fine. Is there any place that is selling these new?
  13. The one I sold 2 season ago was a 158. I rode the He!! out of that thing. It was one of my all time favorites. Have an S-series and a A-frame now. Love them Arbors. I will always at least have one. Hope you can find what your looking for.
  14. Bindings are sold. Thanks for all the replys.
  15. Tons of snow! Go to the slopes now! 30" in 48 hours at C/B. 34" in 48 hours at purgatory. 28" in 48 hrs at Wolf Creek. Silverton ought to be killer today. They were closed yesterday due to power outage though and I bet Red Mnt pass would be a ton of fun to get though.
  16. That looks like the "woodie". Had one sold it. Have a 154 Micky Munoz Quazimoto that is koa and walnut. Would sell it if interested.
  17. Don't know about the hotels as I live 1.75 hours away. I bet that there are rooms in Gunnison though. It was pretty crowded at the mountain but I bet there are still rooms available. With only 1 lift at the base I would think that it was more crowded than usual but not as many people as in peak season.
  18. Just got back from Crested Butte. They have white out conditions. Lots of powder. About 4" on my car that was there from 11 to 3 and it was still coming down. Lots of pow! Only problem was the lift from the base was down until about 1 and there was a 25 min lift line. Good thing was that it was free. Before that you had to hike to everything. Should be very nice tomorrow morning. Wish I could go back.
  19. Looks like Snowmass got the goods at 11" Telluride got 10" Crested Butte got 5" Now I have to decide where to go. Leaning towards C/B as they have been making snow for a month and have a good base already. Not to mention that its free!
  20. Yep, in Montrose. Moved here from east coast about 3.5 years ago. Have been to Powderhorn. Pretty fun place on a good day. Slowest lifts I've ever seen though. Will probably try to hit that a few times this season as I got a gems card and can get a discount on tickets. As far as the smaller ski areas go, I am kind of partial to Monarch. I went there a few days last season since they had so much snow and like it a bunch. I need to go back to Powderhorn just to get familiar with it as I haven't been there but once. I liked the Westend area and the aspen glades on the east side. Would love to go there on a good powder day. I usually just go to T-ride when there is a lot of snow since I usually only get about 12 days in a season. I used to go 30 days a season but have 2 kids now and that has kind of put a damper in things. Got the oldest a board this season so I got to get him out more. He's been skiing for 3 yrs now. Smallest will start next season which should make things a little easier.
  21. Will be at Telluride or Crested Butte tomorrow for the powerder. Also go to Monarch some. Telluride is 1 hour drive so that is where I usually go. C/B is free until the 15th so I'll be going there a lot until that deal is over. I guess taking both would make a lot of sense. I will probably bring only my powder board tomorrow as it's supposed to dump tonight.
  22. Here are the specs on the Generics: Waist Width=8.75". Eff Edge=137cm. Width=20cm. Sidecut=8.9m
  23. I have two boards and have never hardbooted before. Want to know what would be the best one to start on. I ride a pretty stiff softboot board and ride it hard. The 2 boards in question are an old Rossi 156 (don't know any of the other dimensions on it but it is very narrow and effective edge looks to be around 130?) and a Generics 160 Peak (wider at waist with much bigger nose). Which one of these should I try first? Will be riding on groomers with them to start. Bindings will be TD2 or Burton 3D race plate (not the ones in the pic but newer ones) and boots are Burton Reactors. TIA
  24. Some pretty decent conditions in NC. How's Sugar looking. Is Hawk's Nest still open?
