  1. They said a bigger store and told me the street but I forgot it since I don't know Whitby at all.
  2. Anyone looking for clothes, ski or softie gear needs to head to Scotties in Whitby. Brock St. just north of the 401. I was there today and picked up some Salomon Relay Pro bindings for $149.00. Everything 50% off in preparation for a move. Sale has been on for a week but there appears to be a lot of stock.
  3. Be careful doing business with lesnowman. He sends gear too fast. Three days after I sent payment, I get a dingdong at the front door and there is the Canada Post guy with a snowboard for me. I had to hide it fast before anyone saw it. I just wasn't ready. The board was in better than expected condition too. Highly recommended trader.
  4. Not a single law or even group of laws but the overall availability of firearms, particularly handguns, and the culture and misuse that goes with it. I'm sure there are laws in place that are supposed to keep the guns safe but clearly they don't work. Let's not start a gun debate. Please.
  5. Come on D, Canadians aren't the only ones who have trouble with America's foreign policy, medicare, gun laws, etc. You make it sound as if all Americans are united on these issues. I think Canadians tend to comment because we are bombarded with US media coverage and we have the advantage of a bit of distanced perspective. Also, USA bashing is a national sport here. Ric Mercer has even made a career out of it. <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=seYUbVa7L7w&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=seYUbVa7L7w&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
  6. I love you too. Let's go fishing sometime.
  7. Umm...Canada did not take part in the Iraq invasion and does not have any troops there taking part in the occupation. Oh wait, are you referring to the 20 Canadian attack beavers that took part in that raid on Saddam's swimming pool back in 2006? Boy, we really struck a blow for liberty that day, didn't we? Really chewed up them evil-doers.
  8. C5, I am flabbergasted by this post. Surely, you are not so misinformed to believe that Canada supported the invasion and occupation of Iraq? Perhaps you are confusing us with the Solomon Islands? And what leads you to believe that the occupation of Iraq has anything at all to do with freedom?
  9. You mean it takes GAS to be FREE? That's hilarious.
  10. You guys crack me up. With less than five per cent of world population, the United States uses 26 percent of global oil, 25 percent of the world's coal, and 27 per cent of the world's natural gas. It is the single-largest source of carbon from fossil fuels-emitting 24 percent of the world's total. $7.00/gallon gas? Why not? The poor can't afford it? Ever hear of a bus?
  11. Thanks for all the feedback guys and the mounting tip Boris. I will be extra diligent on checking screws. BTW, I picked up another pair, used, and I'd like to replace some parts on them. If anyone has a broken or used up pair and would like to sell them to me for parts, please send me an email.
  12. Yep, I have to deal with those all the time. Luckily, with girl's baseball, it's a little bit more relaxed but not always. Two seasons ago, I had stop one Dad from coaching his daughter (pitcher) from behind the cage. He was actually signaling pitch location. If you want to see nutso parents, try hockey. The moms are the worst. This is typical. Warning: NSFW language in video <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wu-3q4mNmN8&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wu-3q4mNmN8&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object> Clemens signed with the Jays because Toronto was the only team that would allow his kids on the field during warm-ups. He won two Cy Youngs, talked a lot about the great family environment, the great city, etc. and then bolted as soon as he got a better offer. He is much hated in this city.

There's more. Check on Youtube. The one with the runners is really good too. I don't skateboard at all but I respect the right to skate. I try to attend the annual "Board Meeting" in support. <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycIrvs7p5To&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycIrvs7p5To&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
  14. Hey, I'm an "over zelot rent", whatever the hell that means. I coach girl's baseball. True, in the early 90s, we had 16 teams in our league. We are now down to 5. But, baseball is still pretty healthy. Don't forget, it's a world sport and it thrives in Latin America and Asia.

    I am reminded of Nike's brilliant series of commercials : "What if we treated all athletes like skateboarders" <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHsemRRvVrM&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHsemRRvVrM&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYYpcCDSMz0&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYYpcCDSMz0&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
  16. This video wins the award for least appropriate use of video - ever. What could be said in one HTML page takes up 3:46 of video time.
  17. Ever notice on Burton Factory Primes, they put the inserts at something like 17"? I wonder how many riders have been messed up Burton's idea of stance width.
  18. I think I'm going to print and frame that letter. Love it.
  19. I have noticed both the mounting screws and the retaining screws for the toe and heel pieces seem to loosen over time. I have to keep drilling into my daughter's head that any looseness or movement is not desirable and that she needs to tell me or her coach about it. Unlike the F2s, if the mounting screws loosen, the binding will spin. On the F2s, the rubber gasket seems to keep them tight. I really like the F2s. I sure wish they'd get their act together.
  20. There's a lot of talk here about TDs (obviously), Catek, F2 and even Burton but little love for SnoPros. I have a pair on my daughter's board, the SnoPro Race, and I think it's a really solid binding. Similar in design and simple like the F2. Beefy bails (5mm, I think). Any bad experiences with these or just not common enough to warrant interest?
  21. Just got back from Killington. Only rode one day due to the entire mountain shutting down on Monday due to high winds. Bummer. Conditions were great on Tuesday though. We stayed on Bear, K1 and Skye. I'd have to rank Superstar as the top carving run although it got scraped off at the steep bottom by the end of the day. I also enjoyed the top 2/3 of Skyeburst. Superstar is a real ego run with the chair being so low and close to the trail. That's good for me because it makes me concentrate. With the latest dump, Killington will be in good shape snow-wise. Thanks for all the advice and tips. I only saw one other hardbooter - a woman riding an Elan. Was that anyone from BOL?
  22. I think it came from rcrobar, who posts on here occasionally. It seems to work for me and makes a lot more sense than judging stance width on height.
  23. I go by the formula of inseam x .6 My stance width is 19 to 19.5 inches. I'm 5.10, 32" inseam.
