huh I worked there last year and it wasn't that horrible. But I didn't pay for the ticket. Just get a four mountain pass and if you don't like it then hop on the bus. Lines? not really. At least not compared to any other major mountain I've been to.

Oh ok cool. I was just looking at an Insect slalom board, and I really want a Loaded board. But what do you mean by short(30 in...33...?) and long(I've seen some 56+ boards). Also I'm not so much trying to find a board exactly like snowboard carving...but I would like to carve it. I'm not too worried about the strength thing, as I'm a mountain biker/rock climber/hiker. Sorry for the hijack.

What would be a good recommendation for a shovel? Or just grab a folding shovel? Also I've never really understood the probes...think you might be able to elaborate? As for the question and not hijacking, I've heard whistles are very much recommended, also I think a cell phone, or radio, or both probably couldn't hurt. But then again I know everyone around the mountain I do backcountry stuff, so I can call somebody with a snowmobile to haul my ass out.

Very cool picture. I've been thinking hard about grabbing a longboard this summer, and if its anything like carving I'd be all on it. Sorry can't help you with the technique thing, but good luck.

Even though you sold them all, I'd just like to say that I love this board. Its a total blast. Thanks...even though its been traveling through the USA lately lol. But it worked out and I am quite happy with the deal.

Next tuesday. I am probably going to go ski with ski patrol tuesday, and I have to go talk to maintenance(I'm looking into my next job, can't be a lifty forever although I do love it). I liked keystone alot, and Breck is pretty cool(been there a bunch). I have never been to Vail, and I honestly don't know what BC is. I will be around all season though, so I'm all for checking them all out.

Probably the worst injury I have had was when I was trying to ride a box in the park next to my lift and went head first into the ground(note to self, should get a helmet before doing boxes), that hurt for a bit... but I was mostly ok. Well that or when i went down some moguls in deep powder(like a foot or more) on a ski break, in full aspen uniform, and right infront of some guests when I caught an edge, lost my ballance, and went head first into a crazy upside down what-the-hell is happening spin throwing a huge cloud of snow. didnt hurt a bit, just felt stupid. Popped right back up to there questions of "are you ok?" lol...I'm supposed to be riding carefully on my breaks! But that powder was awesome, especially once I set the board up for it. Its still out there too, its fantastic.

I definetly think other riders affect me. I was riding with some of the lifties from Aspen Highlands and they kept taking off into the woods and off jumps(mostly jibbers) and it surprised me how much better I got that day just keeping up with them. Although alot of it was that I got better at jumping but it was surprising fun carving through the trees chasing them as they jumped and launched off stuff.

what kind of freeride board are you looking for? Theres about 15 for sale in the locker room at work, I might be able to find you something. Then again i might not, afterall theres probably a reason people who live at ski resorts are selling a board.

I might be able to make it out there next monday or tuesday. I don't know much about those resorts(haven't been there). But I think I get free passes to vail, loveland, perhaps copper and a bunch of others I don't know about. If anybody wants to recommend, or meet up, at some place I'd be all for it.

Looks like I will be the only one on hardboots, but my friend will be there too, although she will most likely be on softboots. Should be a fun day if anybody wants to do some runs. I will be in a grey jacket, black pants, black mask, black hat, black oakley goggles(yes i look like I am going to rob someone) she will be in red pants, white jacket. Should be easy to spot...just look for the robber on hardboots with the chick with the girly(pink, white) board.

Wow the lifty horror stories must be why the parents around my lift love me so much, I always help the kids as much as possible, they rock. I skied for 15 years(started at 4) and boarded for a few(5-6 years) but I must say that starting kids out early is awesome. I can't remember when I learned, I only remember being about 14 and people telling me i was good. Lol. I haven't skied in years now, but I am planning on it tuesday.

Enjoying beer and portland? Whats portland(do you mean the town, or am I retarded?). I do plan on going. I will be working a bunch of the days, but I live 20 miles from aspen so I'll be there.

I will be going to winter park on the 15th. I will be demoing a allmountain carver, and hardboots so if anybody wants to show the fng some tricks I'd be all for it. There also may be a chick I work with there who may or may not be on hardboots too(she's sick, as in not well). Also a dude on a tiny(141) board who is learning may be there. Should be enertaining:eplus2: Also I'm pretty much always on either of the Aspen/snowmass mountains every monday and tuesday. I'm at buttermilk everyday, but its my job. Your welcome to ride with me on my water runs though.

I am going to try and make it out there sometime for night runs. As long as you guys don't mind a softbooter on a freeride board asking random questions.

Well if anyone would like a review of Aspen, Aspen Highlands, Snowmass, Or Buttermilk I can definetly do that. I have also been to snowshoe, Breckenridge, Steamboat, Crested Butte, Keystone, and I am going to winter park next monday. The only one I can say I know up to date info are the Aspen/Snowmass 4 mountains.
