  1. Hi, I regularly get one run at the end of the day. Its almost completly empty and I am wanting to try to work on my technique. I think I have toeside figured out and I can get pretty low without a problem. It does feel like I am flexing the board alot as if I am turning almost by how much I move my feet in different directions. When I finish a hard turn I tend to pull it a bit more and pop up into the next turn. It feels like one fluid motion and I dont feel like I really move my weight. I am wondering if this is cross-under? or cross through? or wrong? I think I am flexing the board and springing back up. It does always seem like its sliding out mid way through though. Also heelside I feel like I can't turn as hard, although it feels like I am in the back seat a bit. I have a picture of a toeside, but its not available yet. I plan to do the norm tomorrow, what else can I work on? keep in mind I'm on a flexy freeride board and in softboots(need them for work) and a bit new at carving.
  2. Ready?! You should see the parking lot...its like a maze with all the tubing, trucks and buildings everywhere. The bottom of the hill (panda peak, government, the superpipe) is snowcat territory. Its all cut up and roped off. Its crazy how much activity there is around here. I'm sure they will be ready of course, but right now its a mess. Seems to be turning people off of riding at Buttermilk right now, makes my job kinda boring and slow.
  3. I'll tell them. Most of the time I tend to tell people about all sorts of stuff like that, but I'm not sure how many of them are interested. If somebody came up with some kind of poster type thing I would post it in the locker room. -Alan
  4. I'll be there. I'll be coming all the way from Basalt too...on a bus. I work as a lifty at Buttermilk so I guess I'd be there anyway, but I'll definetly check it all out on my days off. If anybody needs a ride from the local airport I have an old truck with no heat I'd be happy to move people around in for the price of gas...but I definetly recommend the bus.
  5. forgive me for being confused....but what? Are you commenting on the core material of the board? Because if you are do you mind explaining why you mentioned that. Iam interested in the board but price is a bit high for me.
  6. hmm 205 seems kinda narrow for softboots. The narrowest I have ridden in them is 220. But I'll think about it, a all mountain freecarve board is very tempting(especially at the price...I do appreciate the spirit of the seasons pricing!)
  7. Whats the waist width on that escape? Also does it still have camber? Anybody know anything about that Nidecker Bx at hardbooter. Is that the same as the nbx? I do plan on riding plates...eventually.
  8. I dont know if its quite what your looking for but I have some Ride Preston Lx bindings with add on-toe cap straps(and the regular straps) that are just sitting around. They are aluminum and pretty stiff. Barely look used, come with a 4-hole/3 hole combo disc.
  9. Yeah, one of my days off this season I intend to drop by bomber's and demo some hardboot stuff. I hope to try them on a Prior Atv too. I get free passes to other resorts so I will probably go to Vail, or something. I do tend to use stuff to do things other than they were designed for, like riding that asym air in the trees or on moguls(today actually). I'm itching to try hardboots, but money is tight...part of living around Aspen I guess.
  10. Thanks a bunch guys. I have been doing as much research as I could, but I figured I'd just ask. I have a wtb ad in the classifieds(or maybe not, seems to have screwed up on me...probably operator error). A bx board was my first choice and that rossi sounds awesome! I'll be sending you an email. If you guys are ever in the Aspen/Buttermilk area, run by the west Buttermilk express lift(I work the top) and I'll help ya out with anything you need. There are a bunch of hardboot carvers that ride the lift all day, and they seem to enjoy it alot. Thanks again. Alan
  11. What do you think of the Burton Alp? Do you think its worth 160 from Klug? I am looking for a board to screw around on the whole mountain(moguls, double blacks, bowls, green groomers, carrying cargo(I'm a lifty, so I carry water coolers, trash, tools, lights, and other crap at times). I tend to like responsive, maneavurable boards. I really want something versatile, but I have a ball everytime I ride my roomates old Asym Air so i am leaning away from freeride. I really enjoy the stiffer freerides I have riden(k2 zeppelin is a fav) but they do seem a bit sluggish. I am leaning towards the Alp because its new(well nos), so more likely to keep its camber longer(i think). I think a all mountain or bx type would be the best bet though. I ride at least one run everyday, and generally spend two full days a week on the slopes. So what do you think? I am a newb at alpine(but started snowboarding 5-6 years ago), so I am open to any suggestions of boards(new or old) but I am poor...so cheap is good. I am watching a Oxygen O2 on ebay...but I can't find any info on it. Oh and I am wanting to stick with softboots for now. Thanks for your help.
  12. Hi, I'm looking for a semi cheap(100-150) all mountain, bx, or freecarve board. I am mostly wanting to just screw around and ride it everywhere, and I do intend to ride it in softboots. I would obviously like something wider than a normal alpine. I have only ridden a old burton asym air, which I loved, so I don't have much expierence. I am thinking about buying a Burton Alp from Klug, or a Oxygen on ebay...but I am open to suggestions! Thanks!
  13. How much would you like for the salomons? Is mondo 28.5 an 11 or am I more retarded than I thought?
