  1. "Serenade in Sun Valley" 1941, yeah, that has some tips for icing....
  2. I think there was something about this in that movie that they play 24/7 at Sun Valley...the gal's skis iced up and she needed help from the hunky dude. I love that movie.
  3. well that certainly looked easy. Nice job man.
  4. Sorry to hear the news. It's the natural way of things, to live, to die, hopefully you can avoid hurting too many people in between. Our pets really show us how much life is precious and how fast time goes by. The pictures and words of others on this thread show an exceptional life, and that is a good thing to keep in mind at a time like this.
  5. I'm probably more sensitive than most about out of control skiers or boarders and this is the key thing...he cut under, looked in control, no problem. Should not have even been stopped.
  6. Oh man Steve...you da man! Thanks for takin'em and postin'em :)
  7. LOL, I went to SES with a board, skis, poles, and a single boot in my snowboard bag 49#'s :) And I third the curbside check-in, it's worth a try. My buddy got a whole huge duffle bag on as "skis and boots" with that outbound from Chicago (you know, we're pay-to-play here...) but it didn't work so well in Aspen, they we're like "yeah a boot bag OK but not a big duffle full of stuff"
  8. Sounds like heaven on earth! Thanks :)
  9. And between 2 days of hard carving, deep snow, and the contortions that Joerg got us into yesterday....well....it's like this....
  10. Man...it is dumping out here like crazy. Here's a 1:45PM shot from the Tiehack lift at Buttermilk...not exactly tracked out, even in the PM!
  11. Can I ask a dumb question here....where is Montucky? I'm thinking maybe near the border between Montana and Kentucky....but I'm having a bit of trouble finding it on the map ;)
  12. I'd love to hear about how the super wide carving stick rides...be sure to post when you get your new board!
  13. that video is a pretty neat way to show proper body position
  14. I'm afraid there is just too much snow out here right now!
  15. Not only was there all kinds of weather out there but there was a short halfpipe clinic. Yeah, no kidding! The best tip I heard...run up the wall at about 80 degrees. Awesome!
  16. The big question on everybody's mind....will there be a SkES 2012?
  17. Saw a couple of alpine guys today but it was another day on skis for me....and a 7 hcp on the nastar course :) Last day today, it was great! <iframe width='465' height='548' frameborder='0' src='http://connect.garmin.com:80/activity/embed/64356550'></iframe>
  18. I've got to hand it to these guys, between the snowmaking and the grooming it's pretty decent! Saw two alpine guys yesterday too but couldn't quite catch'em. Skied AM, snowboarded PM.. <iframe width='465' height='548' frameborder='0' src='http://connect.garmin.com:80/activity/embed/64204983'></iframe>
  19. Whoa, came out here for some time in carving paradise and found corrugated steel top to bottom. I guess it rained, they groomed, then it set up like concrete. Hell I had to switch to my skis! Anyway, I'll be out chopping around on skis or the board, look for the dreadlock helmet cover and red jacket :) Joe
  20. Viking does a fair bit of race ski tuning so that might be an option. But I can sure appreciate getting the equipment and doing it yourself too. I used to be a big fan of busting out the panzer file all of the time but I've switched to this sandpaper kind of thing, it is a lot like a diamond stone if you use the finer paper. http://alpineskituning.com/cms/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=57:rays-way-side-edge-beveling-tool&catid=37:products&Itemid=70
  21. Maybe I missed a post or two but I'm just going with the others that said.... "get a custom footbed and then a molded liner" You just need both, you just do. Comment submitted! Yay!
