  1. Perhaps this is a silly question, but inward canting refers to canting towards your instep, right? I've got two of those unicant burton things and I was planning on on canting three degrees on front and back.
  2. Sweet! Sometime in the next few weeks (assuming I can get a ride) I'll be hardbooting for the first time. Did you start with trying to do The Norm, or just applied some of the tips to your softboot carving technique?
  3. Nope, 3.2 months regardless. It's science, yo.
  4. 3.2 months, across the board. Scientifically. Don't feel a need to give us any details or particulars.
  5. But in terms of abrasion and water resistance, they're pretty good?
  6. I'm not reading that there's any leather in those gloves...

  8. Anyone used these gloves? http://www.thundercloudmarketing.com/Page17.htm
  9. My guess is that the wookie suit is slightly out of my price range.
  10. Either neutral (black/grey/white/brown/any dark color), or bright yellow or red to match my Ultra Prime. Mainly just looking to avoid neon pink/green, though if that's the trim on an otherwise stylin' suit, I suppose it's ok.
  11. Lookin for a stylin' coverall for the slopes. I've got about a 27-inch waist (though I could probably go an inch down or a few up if needed) and 26-inch inseam.
  12. That's about the gist of it. Preferably cheap, and if you're into trades, I have some size 7.5 northwave softboots and salomon bastard freeride bindings (spx3 base, spx6 highback and straps I think).
  13. Do you guys ever toss your plates on freeride boards for pow or early-season board-eating snow?
  14. I just bought my season pass, too...damn. Yeah, let's do some offroad carpooling.
  15. 1) You don't need to modify them to use a third strap 2) They're about 1/6th the price.
  16. Honestly, I just don't get how the base works. P-Tex doesn't strike me as particularly stretchable; do you just get two draggy, flaccid tube things when you deflate?
  17. I had seen the 'setting up your bindings' article, but somehow missed the cant/lift one. Thanks.
  18. Got myself an ultra prime and some race plates with unicants. The UP is a 162 and I've got about a 26" inseam, so I figure I should make my stance as narrow as possible. However, is there a good starter cant/lift combination? I've heard front toe up + inward, heel up + inward. Is there a particular angle that I should try at first?
  19. If someone wants to drive me from Portland, sure. That, or move the team to Mt. Hood.
  20. Moved from a freeride setup to my first alpine board: Burton Ultra Prime 162 Deeluxe Suzukas Burton carbon race plate bindings. Also need some snow pants and gloves...
  21. 1) Opinions on the bomber board bag? How tough is the nylon (compared to, say, Burton or Dakine)? 2) Are there any cheap (sub-$50), durable gloves out there? 3) What sort of stomp pads do y'all use? Stoked about the rain here in oregon; I keep checking the Mt. Hood Meadows webcam to watch the progress...
  22. They certainly talk it up, whether they're selling tennis rackets, skis, or boards. Has anyone ridden a Head board? Is the technology noticible? If so, why isn't it in any alpine boards? Just curious...
  23. Woke up this morning and the air made me completely feel like hitting the slopes. Alas, Mt. Hood meadows is still dry...
  24. My boot shifts the whole strap assembly side-to-side. My normal softboot bindings have an ankle strap placed significantly higher up, which resists lateral force before it's magnified by distance. It may be that with very stiff boots, there's no difference.
