1. Ok, I'm going to get lots of Hate-mail for this question, but I'm curious of eastcoast riders are better than those from the west because of what we learn to ride in..... which is basicly the worst possible **** that we dare blast down without any concern. Lastyear I was freeriding while not in lesson and chatted with some people from the midwest, and all they did was bitch about the conditions, and yet it actualy was one of the nicest days of conditions from lastyear. Does this give us eastcoasters an advantage and make us better riders ?
2. As an "Icecoaster", and with limited actual hardboot experience, I would have to say to rent a board out there, but bring your race board if you want to lug it with you as the chances of them having your style board to 'rent" are slim and none. Always able to get something big and fat out there that may be more enjoyable to ride in. I've got a few different boards for various conditions. I second the "take the right tool for the job" comment.
3. "laying it down long and hard....... just like yer mom loves it".
4.
Some kinda cool new ratings came out:

Somethign to be proud of as an employee I guess :)

Jiminy Peak Ranks Nationally in Ski Magazine Top Resorts Issue
Hancock, MA: Jiminy Peak is proud to announce that the resort was rated #8 in the nation for Family Programs by Ski Magazine Readers. 5. PALMER LIFT PLATES. they will help atleast a little bit with toe/ heel drag. I learned riding both feet forward, so it's not a big deal, and I was a size 13 at age 12, so I doubt he will grow much more. FATBOB by K-2 was the widest I knew or a Burton Floater. Neither are made anymore I believe.
6. THE SITE IS BEING REVAMPED. It was up when I posted the link..... gah talk about bad timing ! I personaly have had the time to try them out last year, and they are OK. not great, not crap, just OK. It is for ease of tooling around on them, and just going out and having a good time. If you are doing some hardcore stuff, um... I personaly would want NOTHING between me and the board cept a binding PERIOD, but they held up with no noticeable loss of control to me when I was just cruising around. If anything the extra lift will help eleminate a bit of toedrag too :)
7. A buddy of mine is a seller for this. He is an instructor at Jiminy with me. www.autospin2.com For 30.00 discount enter this code Blake Marion 55183762053 It should get you a discount :) THey are a rotational lifter plate that allows your front foot to turn so a regular stance on a freride board becomes similar to a ski for ease of getting on and off lifts. Not much use to us hardboot riders, but a nifty thing at anyrate for those busy days when board tangles are unavoidable in lines.
8. I'm doing Sunday all day and Monday until 3:00. When not in lessons, I'll be available to do "whatever". Call the Snosports desk and ask for Dave "Espi" Sheedy , or hang out near the base lodge (JJ's Lodge) every hour on the hour when lessons are given and usualy I'll be popping around for "line ups". Look for my blue helmet.... it is the only one like it on the entire mountain or the northeast (possibly the world).... http://image2.frappr.com/pix2/i/20060506/5/2/4/5242554b3e21e90b19589403f5084a4b0_medium.jpg
9. 9.00 ear buds from any local wal-mart, target, electronics department or whereever. You just have to retrofit your earflaps and do a minor bit of needlework with some thread. Don't spend 140.00+ on "tuneups" or any that crap.
10. They look chewed up......... gah. Good luck locking them down..........
11. I Still want these, or parts to them. thanks :)
12. Kinda figured we should have a thread where we say who is who on e-bay so we don't sniper eachother for obscene prices on stuff. My Screenname on e-bay is: DaveESPI so now you go !
13. It always makes me wonder why somany listings are without the disk.... Plus BURTON is about as usefull as a dead canary in a coal mine for replacement parts......... damn it.
14. I have Snow Pro RACE bindings. I'll be able to give a better comment on them once I get the chance to tear up a few slopes. For 100.00 they were the most logical choice for me. If I find I like the full hardboot set up, I'll get some serious bomber bindings or other top of the line pro ****.
15. This is my 13th season, and lastyear I had 85 days. I have ridden 45 frint, 32 back both in the same dirrection (agressive stance) since I felt uncomfortable riding ducked out. I've never had any "issues" with riding this way, so I think that transitioning to a carve board will be even smother for me once I lock down with the hardboot setup. Riding "switch" when facing in onedirrection.... now THATS a challenge ! Since I've been riding 3 strap bindings with locking heelplate for almost 10+ years, it is almost the same response as a carve board, and I can lean way in when I corner hard, and it always seems to impress people how low I could get. I teach switch riding and can do goofy also, but it feels completely assbackwards and weird. Hell, I'll ride whatever at this point.......... DAMN IT AH NEED SNOOWWWW !!!!!!
16. "End of season" sales were very very good to me previously in 2006..... :evil laugh: E-bay was also equaly good... and is being very very nice right now also :)
17. that would be sweet! They going to use the Broadway trail for it ? only seems logical.
18. If your edge is this difficult to smooth out, take it to a pro and have them put it on the machine. I've rarely had to monkey with my edges, but once mashed down from ice, I have to get them protuned, orelse I'll do more damage to my edge with a hand tuner than it is worth.
19. Mitts are annoying. Gloves get too cold. BOTH ! I have fingerless gloves that have mitts that fold back. THINSULATE makes them. Look in the "sportsman" section of the hunting area of a Dicks sporting goods or walmart, sports authority Etc... They rawk ! Especialy if you need your hands to undo straps, or tie laces, smoke cigarettes on the lift..... whatver... as an Instructor, I tend to use my multi Tool quite often, and with mits it's IMPOSSIBLE !... fingerless gloves are perfect. HTH.
20. I called starting gate. They had a 29- 30 in stock. They are on hold. I'll call them tomorrow (today Friday) and give them my credit card #. I'd go pick them up myself, but don't have time to make it up to Vermont and back to Albany to be at work in time, so I'll just have them shipped .... considerign what the price of gas is.... prob'ly is the cheaper route LOL. thanks :)
21. Thanks. I tried google, but it was not as fruitfull as I'd hoped. I kept getting a bar, and horse racing sites, not snowboarding ... LOL. I guess the DOT NET (.net) was key ;) Thanks. ps: mondo 30.5 is 12 1/2 US.... It would be a very tight squeeze for me to be in a 26 LOL.
22. I'm on the FRAPPER page of Bombers. I'm located in Latham NY (albany) Anyone want to go ride this season, don't be timid... drop a hello HERE ! Always good to have new partners to tear it up with :),
23. I GOT THE BOOTZ ! Thanks again to the forum tip and to The Starting-gate shop in VT. :) now I just have to figure out my set up stance and cant angles Head Stratus Pro SOLD OUT GAH !!!! SAY IT AINT SO !.. Will the 2006-7's be in the Bomber store soon ? if not, I want a pair of these boots in size 12 or 13 US. I have a narrow foot, and big toes, so small boots tend to pinch unless these run bigger in the tip. I'd like them in black if possible. Thanks Reply here, or email me @ Masterbetta1@yahoo.com and i'll see you on the slopes !
