  1. I have a ladyfriend who lives in BC, and I am seriously considering going there in Feb or March. Whistler looks nice, but Blackmountain has the park and pipe fun with a 22 foot wall superpipe. I think I will be taking my floater and the rozzi 163 alpine carver if I go. I've never been there, so I just assume it would be a blast :)
  2. I fully expected to see the word " STOKED" on there.
  3. I raced boarxercross back in the day of xgames at Mt. Snow in some preliminary rounds, and almost made it to final cuts, but well.. didn't. damn it. But, I never rode hardboots, I just had an agressive stance and my twintip Rozzi with Burton 3 strap bindings,. The ressponse with those bindings was as good as hardboots, but the landings were wayyyyyy softer and manageable.
  4. I like it :) Navigation is easy, toolbars are simple, I'm not ding this > while trying to find stuff. Plus you cary Rozzi boards I like it :)
  5. Start in August... ride a bike 4 miles a day (UPHILL both ways ;) Works well for me :D
  6. I have always been a rozzi fan. I have 6 boards tha are rozi, and love them all to death ( well close enough, but I take care of them too). THE MINI I got at the end of last season was a prototype demo board. It is Black and White. I got the pre-production HC1000 bindings for the 07 season, and really felt they were super comfortable. I honestly have to say that the mini is one of the single most fun boards I've ever been on. Super snappy, light as a feather, you can snap spins and manual with tail kicks forever, it is super ! It literaly is a skateboard for snow. No problem with edge transfers, or riding flat at all. I took it in the 1/2 pipe, and rolled a 540 on the surface of the wall with ease, and it is fairly stable since it is wide enough for us big guys to ride. It is not flippy and has a good stiff deck that has lots of pop despite it's small size. I'm 6'2 150 #s size 12 boot, and it is set up ducked out so I can ride switch with it. I've taken it on the steeps and experience some issues with a small bit of toe drag in the heavy sloppy spring snow, but the rest of the year it is a blast ! you really need to be centered on your board while riding it, and going off of jumps or landings, you need to be on-spot as ther is not any nose or tail to help slap down the rest of you and the board. It took an hour or so to get really comfortable on it so that I felt I could start taking on boxes and kickers with it, and once I did, It was awesome. I felt like Tony Hawk ! The drawback: high speed stability. If you like to go fast, and are not comfortable riding smaller boards (like a 152 or less) then you may be pushing your luck with this if you go faster than 20 or 30 MPH. I was clocked with a radar gun doing 40 and it was freeken scary on that lill whip in eastcoast icy conditions, but I was comfortable cruising along because I have had aprox 40 hours or so on it to date. If you get ahead of it, or behind it off jumps and bury the nose of the board, or are landing on your back; you will be either eating ****, or doing a belly slide if you are not careful. Other than that, it's awesome Well worth the $ IMHO ! http://aycu28.webshots.com/image/8147/2001619174083240968_rs.jpg http://aycu15.webshots.com/image/7134/2001666591153143916_rs.jpg http://aycu06.webshots.com/image/9325/2001643781719123594_rs.jpg
  7. I think you guys are missing the point, they are just goofing around, and laying out on one ski. I give um props for trying to be a carver, but they are just messing around. It's all good :) Everyone just having fun :D
  8. I have 7 various soft boot boards and 2 alpine setups. I like switching up because eac hone is set for different conditions, and stance and riding styles. I'm whimsical like that, but for the longest time, I just had one board, then I decided I needed more because I got tired of the same old thing every day. My present toy of fave is a Rossignol "THE MINI" a 121 made for a big guy. It's like a skateboard for the mountain.
  9. I get a lot of people coming in to the restaurant with food allergies we need to be aware of. I've bever heard anyone say " I'm allergic to Bacon"... or "Beef meat "...
  10. I have not been hunting in almost 10 years. One of the dishwashers hooked me up with some fresh veni-goodness.... sooo... This was my dinner lastnight; however I'm sad to say there is none left to share :D *cept the memories. http://www.bluenoseinn.com/venison.jpg
  11. saddly, I've only been able to wear the boots around my house, and slap them into my bindings a few times.......they have yet to touch snow :( I'll let ya know more when I have enough snow to not worry about core shots from rocks or enough packed powder to lay a carve in around here ......
  12. Bola, the links above are what I need :) thanks.
  13. the 3 strap bindings are awesome from Burton... saddly, the are hard to find now, as I'm still looking for another pair of 96 Burton Custom Freerides. I love my 3 strap set up, and they have lasted me almost 12 years with good care taken of them. I've lost a few screws and backers, but have only had one ladder strap break on me ever ! Back in the day when Burton made a quality product.....
  14. New Jersey has a similar law. I always feel weird about whether or not I should tip the guy.....
  15. I have an old SIMS ACE 176 board that I want to sell. It has an old style big bolt ski boot pattern, and I can't find bindings for it. anyone want it ? I paid 40 for it. It is dark blue/ purple and has a good base still and is loaded with wax :D
  16. OH!!!!! achey pain at teh end of the day settling in for the car ride home is good...... You know it's a good time if you can fall, laugh, and get up to do it again 10 feet away in slushy heavy mashedpotatoes, 50 degree weather and no windchill on November 26th........ Conditions were like Spring Skiing. It's as if I never quit in April..... Truly a nice way to start the new season indeed as if I had never left off last season Had a few little hits and ramps built by kids in the ditches, so atleast a few of us got to take flight. NOT HARDBOOT CARVING CONDITIONS !!!!!! I tried laying down a tight carve on my regular board, and washed out. just not enough to get an edge into, so I'd say Hardbooters this is not the time of yer to be breaking out he big guns ... softboots and your "rock boards" are the rule.
  17. sux, but just resell it on e-bay. No harm done, you are out some cash, and are dissapointed. Try to just be honest in your listing, and hope for the best :). What size is it " I need a helmet that is a 50 or 48 for a girlfriend of mine with a tiny as hell head.
  18. Steve, I don't haev to work till 3:00 pm on Friday at the restaurant, if you want to go out, I'll co-pilot the trip from Albany to Mass and tear up a few trails ( or the bottom of my crap board on the rocks) with ya. 518-577-7893 LMK.
  19. I'll go with ya pow.... or if ya want to wait till sunday, since I have to be there anyhow. I can get ya a 10.00 off lift ticket discount for a shared ride and I'll donate gas money to get there. Considering I'm an instructor...... I'm sure I can get the rust off your hinges :) lemme know.
  20. I Got the boots. Mondo 30.0 USA 12. MANNNNN THEY ARE COMFY ! I was wearing them around my house today. I don't think I need to adjust a damn thing on them.... but once on the board, I'll find out for sure. I think I need to mose out more and be set back on the tail farther.... not sure. Anyone have some advice ?
  21. I called Jiminy yesterday... it was 69 degrees according to my thermometer out my window... I asked if they had any steeps groomed out yet........ The Snowsports school director laughed so hard he was chokeing on the air he was sucking in and hung up the phone on me.
  22. Got um from SGate. Boots are on the way.... hopefully they can include some snow too gah ! 70 degrees here yesterday.... SEVENTLY on November Seventeeeeeeeeenth is just unheard of. Damn fossil fuels
  23. Real men carve like they're on hockey skates HELL YES ! Willy, THIS is a great quote to be a sticker.
