  1. hmm, never considered that, although i should have. sounds like a pretty good idea actually. im also going to be looking into new bearings. I don't care for really fast bearings, i'll be going really fast regardless, i want the most durable ones... would that be the builtins are are there other, better bearings?
  2. the cold spell got me excited... it was feeling like fall, and i was getting pretty anxious for winter despite it being the middle of august. this next week is supposed to get hot again though:(
  3. dude that board sucks. i bet you havnt even ridden it on anything but a sidewalk. certainly not mountain roads like jackson summit:AR15firin
  4. i can only do stand up slides with them on "groomed" concrete (used on bridges and in some garages around here... looks like chord, is made of concrete, and lowers the amount of traction you have on a longboard signifigantly). Im looking into getting some Flashbacks in a higher duro once im finished with these gummies. When I get a real DH board, it'll definately have the gumballs though:biggthump
  5. yeah, they slide... for about .2 seconds before coming to a complete stop and launching you!:p
  6. go right ahead, but im waiting for mine till next season when they put spinners on it, suckahh:cool:
  7. will it be as good as the original? http://www.burton.com/Gear/Default.aspx#/mens/boards/productDetail/70032/B80541091

You do know the Renn Tiger is a 100% alpine freecarve/race board, right? (photo courtesy of www.volkl.com)
  10. good luck! just so you know, you can buy it new at pogo's website www.snowboardshop.de in case you get anxious and can't find it used

    Pimp my longboard

hmm, i don't think id go for a design, but that would be great for a bad-weather board. some nice bright headlights and tail lights... any board? what about flexdecks plastic boards? Im thinking since they're not wood they'd probably be able to handle variable conditions the best without warping. add some wheels with the slits for rain and itd be perfect for wet conditions:cool:

    I gave in

Hey Gleb, me and a few other guys are going to be riding Mt. Greylock in NW Mass. sometime later this summer. Interested in tagging along with your Dervish? It's pretty steep in some spots, I'm not sure we'll be able to do all of it, but whatever we can do should be fun. (no im not into whatever these people are doing, it just happened to be a good picture of the road so i yoinked it from the internet)
  13. wow... This thing is amazing! Too bad i cant afford it :(
  14. Old Fred! I almost forgot about him. It's so lame, it's almost cool:cool:
  15. he'd fit right in with pinhead and all those other creepy dudes edit: but he's a pretty good rider
  16. ohh, right... of the (mid) VT resorts ive been to, I liked Okemo the best. They didn't really have any terrain that was too intense for me, which means that it might not be challenging enough for you, but i still liked their top to bottom blues and blacks. Nice, wide carvers if you ask me.
  17. Jiminy Peak is decent, with good night riding and only about 1/2 hour east of Albany:biggthump
  18. Very cool. Not sure exactly how useful it is on a carver, but it makes sense for powder riding. Pogo makes some boards with waxable P-tex topsheets, same principle i think. edit: I just made out the fancy "RadAir" logo. is that board a tanker? what vintage? looks pretty cool.
  19. "The dangers surrounding the current models of quick-release bikes far outweigh any time saving benefits they may offer,'' said Assemblyman Paul Moriarty, D-Gloucester, a bill sponsor. ^shouldn't that be left to the consumer to decide?
  20. I daydream about carving all the time. Sometimes I'll even strap into the board just to make sure i remember what it feels like. I never dream about carving though. If there's snowboarding involved in my dream, I'm always trying to get to the mountain but something keeps me from getting there:mad:
  21. i think he's mostly concerned about the wheel wells, which seem like completely exposed wood. I told him that if he's really worried just clearcoat it or something.
  22. One of my buddies was worried about riding in the rain yesterday, he said his board might get waterlogged and warped. Is it really something to be concerned about, or is he just paranoid?
  23. its 45" and I would much rather stay home, but at least while everyone else is enjoying the "happiest place on earth", I can get some carving in:biggthump too bad florida is so flat:(
  24. Im going on vacation soon and I was wondering if anybody had any advice on how to take the longboard with me on the plane. Do you think they'll let me gate check it? If not how do i protect it as luggage?
