  1. I have to laugh when I watch "pimp my ride" because most cars are still a piece of junk underneath. Graphics are minor compared to what's inside a Madd. The kiteboard graphics are nothing exceptional, but the boards themselves are. check out Madd Airlines http://www.maddmikes.com/MaddKiteboards.htm Graphics are cool only when the color of your nboard matches the color of your Benz.
  2. J mac! We can hang out in the parking lot and sell burgers out of the trailers to all them fancy tourists on the blackout days. BTW, I bought a 1983 Winnebago 21' with only 50K orig miles. Now I need to know where to find the electrical outlets in the parking lots.I meant to give you a call today after scoring the pass. I'll try you again in the am.
  3. Just ordered mine! Don't wait kids ,Quantities are limited! What a sick deal, I just alerted JG and some local homeboys.
  4. Happy Birthday John! Get well soon . Bankers got some sweet kiteboards for you to ride!http://www.maddmikes.com/images/madd/MaddKiteboards.jpg:D

  6. Pat, Can you find out if they still have chairs for sale? I called the Mt but no answer. I think fleaman is talking about the sky hooks used when applying spotted paint to a ceiling. Is Southington anywhere near Sundown? I haven't skiied there since college.
  7. todd, nuthin' like wasting away in margaritaville. Come to the cape and learn to kitesurf. We'll put blisters on the other side of your hands. Can you say madd mikes kiteboards? sure you can!~Willy
  8. Are you anywhere near Sebago Lake? I can put you in touch with a guy that kites there alot. Just watch out for pine trees etc when you're learning.Best bet, do some nice long "downwindas" and get a boat to bring you back if you can't walk it. Email me direct and come down to Cape Cod for a weekend, I'll give you some lessons and cut you in for a big BOL discount. KITESURFING rules! ask mark fawcett...:p
  9. Although slalom water skiing is much closer to carving a snowboard, Kitesurfing isn't as expensive as you might think and is WAY too much fun.You can get a used rig for under $500 and a used beginner board might run another $250. Learning takes a toll on your body.Paying for lessons can be pricey but will make learning much safer and faster. I fully recommend that you get dirtbikes as well but you're talking much more investment. Legal trailriding is limited here in New England but still well worth "exploring". A hundred mile trek through the woods on a Sunday in the Spring/Fall is a good workout.
  10. Formula 1, eh? Even better. We try to watch F1 every Sunday morning on SpeedVision. Always rooting for the Brasilians (although Rubens isn't my favorite and Ferrari dominates too much).Too bad more Americans don't get it. Drinkin' tons of Bud and watching Nascar just don't compare to F1 and Cart. BTW, does anyone here on BOL race "shifter carts" ? I met a couple from ECES 2003 at Stratton who race carts in Canada, I think.Prob can't make Montreal tho. BIG Ride in NH: http://www.mvtr.org/events/classic2004/classic2004.htm
  11. Bob , You may want to look into http://www.penguinracing.com/ before you do a track day. That way you can drop THIER bike instead of your R6. The money you spend at Penguin could save $$$ in fixing your bike and even hospital bills.Roadracing is no joke, be very scared. I've gone over the bars after highsiding out of a corner and broke my clavicle and got some nice road rash scars. My bike was a mess. That was at only 50 mph on the street. Going 120 down the back straight at Loudon with other bikes around you will definately get your adrenaline squirting but you must have adequate experience first. Steve Aspland a wealth of knowledge and he's hooked up with Vanson as I mentioned at Redbones. Good Luck!GO FAST! ;) Don't wreck that pretty R6:eek:
  12. mirror , post dates and a link . I'd be up for a roadtrip to montreal.Superbikes! Saint Kate St! Brador! Can you camp at the track? I've been to Laguna Seca back in '98 for the Nationals and World Superbike , not competing just camping, grilling and discussing alot of ( uuuuurp!) brewing methods and ways to make your bike go faster. Nothing like waking up sunday morning to the sounds of Superbikes practicing just outside your tent. I can speak enuf drunken pigeon frogtalk to get by. "un bier, s'il vous plait."
  13. Great offroad event at Loudon June 12, 13. 200 miles in 2 days. check out:http://www.mvtr.org/events/classic2003/classic2003album.htm Our team is looking good this year.;)
  14. the ghetto kids wear a doo rag under the bucket, verrrrrrrry stylish.
  15. Das Glide wax is what you're after.Ultra glide, super glide, can't remember. I run the natural glide but if you crave the synthetic glide check out http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/store.cfm?cat=39 go faster!!!
  16. I met the owner of Dominator Wax at Stratton at the U S OPEN and guess what? He rides plates! He was very knowledgable about Swoards, Madds and speaks highly of our buddy Fin.Even tho I wasn't competing, he let me use his facilities Sunday morning to put the SICK wax job on my PureCarve Maverick 175. I think his name was Tamus,Euro guy, and very dedicated to his craft. The pricey graphite wax with the Burton logo on it, is made by the Dominator.Curt finds him annoying, I found him..... gracious.
  17. Rain X works well in a pinch. I've only used it once as a goof and it actually makes a difference. Dominator wax is my new favorite. Carbon/Graphite I think. Put a SERIOUS wax on my PureCarve 175 at the US Open at Stratton a few weeks ago. Good Stuff! :D
  18. Bordy, Ironic thing is..I didn't break it myself. I've ridden it a handful of times and I know what the split will tolerate.I lent it out and was ADAMANT about what NOT to do while riding it.I might be a big guy but I do know something about finesse and how to apply all that downforce. Many tools for many applications.I'd love to make some sweet swooping turns on a Swoard in virgin French snow one of these days tho.
  19. Bordy, I've never broken one either and I've railed the snot out of them. The problem is blunt force impact to the tail. The one that broke at ECES was slammed into a mogul , hockey stop style at high speed.
  20. I'll bet Wildcat is awesome too. April Fool Alert! Check this out:$7 Lift Tickets at Wildcat Mountain on Thursday April 1st, 2004 Celebrating 7 Years of Riding the Wildcat Express Quad! Pinkham Notch, NH ? Wildcat Mountain?s high-speed quad chairlift, the Wildcat Express, was installed in 1997. It is NH?s highest and fastest quad chairlift, and has been giving access to Wildcat?s 4,062 foot summit and 2,100 foot vertical in about six minutes for seven years now! The power of the Quad was demonstrated on March 1, 2004, when local ski meister and Wildcat Ski Team coach Steve Briggs of Jackson, NH, rode the Quad 61 times in one day, skiing 61 runs down the Lynx Trail, i.e. over 128,000 vertical feet, on Wildcat?s first 100K Day Challenge for the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Twenty-six out of twenty-seven Challengers skied, snowbladed, and boarded at least 100K on that day. Where else could folks ski & ride so much vertical in so little time?! Wildcat Mountain combines high-speed lift access, a wide variety of terrain, including a special area for beginners, groomed cruisers for the intermediate, and steeps, bumps, and glades for the experts. Known for its long runs, Wildcat offers the most continuous vertical in the White Mountain National Forest. Wildcat also offers a long spring skiing and riding season, through the month of April (weather depending!). Being one of the last of the family-owned ski areas, Wildcat maintains a fun, friendly, throw-back ski mountain culture. So come on out and celebrate with $7 lift tickets on Thursday, Aril 1st. And remember your next day at Wildcat is always only $25!
  21. Thanks McFly. The way bruce explained it to me was that the boards could be modified flex and stiffness wise after they'd been ridden. I'd only heard of this through a guy I used to ride with that said he'd sent his Prior back several times to be repaired. It makes sense now. Remember that Bruce has made boards for Jasey Jay and that kind of testing goes into the custom he'll build for you. Please clarify this as well because I got the information whilst in a state of ECES beer bliss. I wonder if HAN has ridden his world cup prize booty board from the raffle.
  22. here's an ECES casualty courtesy of Steve Prue. Notice that the Donek base clearly say "DONE".:(
  23. Don't forget about the woman that died of hypothermia on Tuesday after getting stuck in foul weather on Sunday hiking with her husband. I think it was Mt Lafayette but if it was anything like the top of Stratton Sunday late afternoon, YIKES!
  24. Bruce has a unique technique of being able to peel the topsheet off and lay down more biaxial to stiffen your board up. Break a few lams? no prob. he'll buzz it down and lay it up again. pretty cool. After talking to him at length at ECES I was sold on ordering a custom for my 235 pounds and style of power surfing the hill.I figger a Madd 170 for morning groomies and a Coiler All Mountain Freecarve 177 with a 21.5 waist for everything else.Nice and stiff. Bordy's got it right on. TRY many boards before you decide to buy. A custom board won't necessarily make up for lack of ability but it will get you there faster. And custom graphics are the TATS!I want a nice big steaming turd on the tail of my new Coiler right next to the coiler logo.Maybe some "boobs" up by the nose. Bronsky board, eh?
  25. Got some very positive feedback on Billy Bordy from a Boston BOL'r that took a carving lesson with him a few weeks back while on vaca in Utah. The guy knows his shiznit. I think Gilmour should start a high brow "escort service" ( I mean...brothel ) in SLC after his rehab and we'll get Ron Jeremy aka " the Hedgehog" to endorse it and make some guest appearances. OOPs , wrong again. We'll have to set up shop in Reno and ride Tahoe North all day and do some "railin'" all night. Cold pimpin' YO!:p
