So far less people have been vaccinated due to "shortages" I fully expect the death toll to rise as more people are vaccinated. Certainly if they were to count the miscarriages occurring due to pregnant women being vaccinated. statistics are only as good as the data used and they only quantify what has already happened. ITs tragic of course any human life lost is. Whats at issue here is whether or not the hysteria is really called for. #1 These numbers are skewed. 10,000 people are dead but there is no real numbers proving swine flu contributed or caused any of them. before august when the CDC was actively testing cases, as little as 1% of suspected cases or lnfluenza A cases were actually testing as H1N1. The 10,000 figure includes all influenza A cases as well as flu-like and pneumonic cases. basically anybody with flu like symptoms or pneumonia is considered to be H1N1 now. The numbers are being artificially inflated. Flu doesnt often kill anyway its usually the secondary bacterial infections that get you. #2 seasonal flu kills 35,000 people on average each year. so as we approach the end of the flu season with 10,000 deaths ( artificially inflated number ) Its stacking up to be the mildest flu in recent memory. #3 if its really not that deadly does it justify rushing a vaccine to market without proper testing , pushing it on pregnant women, suspending existing laws on the use of adjuvants, etc etc. clearly its a big money maker. The Hysteria that is causing all the fuss is probably a marketing plan.

Always love this argument! vaccination is not immunization. period to say otherwise is just silly. I left the military because of the small pox and anthrax scare and the ensuing hysterical attempt to get a new vaccine for the military while bypassing all established safeguards. I volunteered to go with my unit to Iraq and was told I represented a threat because i had not been vaccinated. If it worked like they say it does the only one at risk would be me. I contracted whooping cough as a teen while traveling in Japan it was mild and didn't slow me down much. My entire vaccinated school caught it and nearly shut the school down. By far the worst effects were seen in those that had been vaccinated. lots of other examples out there. The point is that in many cases there is little or no proof that the vaccine works at all so it doesnt make sense to take the risk that a given vaccine represents. Everyone should weigh the odds of contracting the disease and the possibility of severe consequences against the odds of having a serious reaction or other side effect from the vaccine itself. ITs a simple numbers game. We vaccinate against Hep B immediately after birth in the states. ITs primarily a sexually transmitted disease. If the mom doesn't have it the kid isnt gonna catch it for a few years. So why introduce neurotoxins into a developing brain? babies are still growing brain cells until around age 2. At the least we should push it back until they are 2. I Choose for myself to not be vaccinated. However I only advocate that people actually educate themselves and then make the informed decision that is right for them. read the statistics read the other sides opinion and weigh your decision based on your life and your concerns. Herd immunity is shaky at best make the decision that is right for you and your family and dump the altruistic crap that is being shoved down your throats in the name of profits. Informed consent is a pillar of healthcare ethics. In the States at least, it isn't even given a nod when it comes to vaccines. Personally I won't be getting this or any other vaccine. Professionally I work at educating my patients on the risks vs benefits. I find that most of my patients are told they have to get it and its perfectly safe with nothing to be concerned about. All one has to do is read the package insert to find that isn't true. All of you will make this decision for yourselves. My goal is to hopefully trigger your critical thinking skills a bit. Ask questions and don't accept dogma for an answer. You are entitled to full disclosure. I also refer when appropriate. If you walk in to my office while stroking out you will get a helicopter ride to the ER. IT's happened twice since I started practice. New patient comes in for headaches is diagnosed as having a stroke and lifeflighted to the hospital. Both patients are in good health and back in my office for other issues from time to time. found a few broken bones and hard tissue pathologies over the years as well. It varies from state to state but in Montana at least I am a licensed gateway physician. I have a responsibility to evaluate and refer if necessary.

Absolutely, however there is such a glut of hysterical info on the news I probably don't need to provide any. My biggest gripe is that the numbers are being skewed in the name of selling more vaccine. Everything I am reading about how the numbers are compiled tells me that we can't trust WHO, CDC et al. Its become nearly impossible to tell which strain killed which patient since all flu-like and pneumonia-like deaths are being lumped together. I guarantee that deaths due to the vaccine will also be lumped into that group. We will see a spike in the numbers soon now that the vaccine program is in full swing.:( As responsible physicians we should be questioning the way our "science" is being bought and paid for.

Nearly everything is more dangerous than the swine flu. The vaccine is quite likely more dangerous than the swine flu. First do no harm should be at the forefront of this debate and its not. Certainly it could have been coincidence but it is an interesting observation. No mention was made if Luke had been vaccinated for seasonal or H1N1? Additionally there was no reference made to the last swine flu epidemic in the US when 50 million people got the swine flu vaccine and more people died from the vaccine than the swine flu itself -- and that's not counting all those that developed permanent neurological damage.
