Is is bad to be aroused by monoski football? I think it was the music that got me. I feel so dirty for watching that (over and over and over). I think I have it on Beta somewhere, lemme go look.......

Remember, as parents, we often expect too much from our kids. Its easy for us to forget that what might be second nature to us is new to them. They have to be comfortable in their ability to progress. I was frustrated with my 3 1/2 y/o last week because he forgot how to ski. Totally irrational on my part. It has been almost a year since he has been on snow, the conditions were different, it was at night (tired) and not in the Sun valley sun. Of course, he wants to ride the chair with his big bro, but we are still working on stopping. Of course, that makes more work for dear old dad and mom, and of course, I am still going off of last years results. Once I got my head on straight, and we made snow angels for awhile, I remembered to enjoy the time on the hill with my kid who (for whatever reason) wants to be just like me. We started again, rode the chair, I let it run with him between my legs (on skis, sorry to dissapoint), and he loved the speed. He cant wait to go again, had fun and will definately learn from others better than me when the time comes. I also had to remember that this was his experience, not mine, I get that when I am on the snow with the fellas. Have fun, sounds like you guys have some great times ahead.

I rode rat traps for a few years, never had a "catastrophic"failure but did come out a few times, due to board flex and I suspect very cold temps causing the boot to shrink a little. I also had a cam break off at the weld. Fortunately this was all slow speed when it happened. got rid of them and went to TD'S. Some swear by them, but I feel my riding improved with the TD'S fwiw.

Flight of the Conchords on HBO. itunes has some episodes as well as some blogs from the cast.

If you have HBO, they had a series on last year. Pretty funny in that dry, off beat sort of way. If you like Flight of the Conchords you might also like Extras with Ricky Gervais, his Office in England is what the Office on NBC is modeled after. Got to go now, the wife is sorting out the recycle.

Rode the lift last week with a guy who got his back from ebay. Set up a sting with the (reluctant) local PD and nabbed the effer. He had a whole stash of stuff that he stole from the local hills. The guy saw his board, checked the guys other items for sale, saw his binders too, set up a local pick up and got him. Not sure of the penalties, but at least one less $h!thead on the hill.

Gotta wait till march. It is dumping here too, but the wife is in Cali and Colorado buying next seasons clothes for the shop, so I have the rugrats (it easier with the two of them for me to be on skis, and mine were sent back for warranty) so I cant even sneak away for some quick turns woth or without them. Grrrrrrrrrrr. Glad to see some moisture over there.

Negative on the infection. Watch for Puss, warm areas with what looks like streaking from the wound, odd smells (you will know it when you smell it, trust me). The puss is actually a normal reaction to infection, the other stuff is worse. Also if you come down with a fever ti might be worth a trip to the doc. We have had one guy come down with Necrotizing Fasciatis (spelling? Flesh eating disease) and another come down with MRSA, both healthy and both unexplained, but from open wounds on the skin. Not to worry you too much. Did I say the sky is falling? Get well

You might do half the drive, spent the night in B-Ham, get up early and hit the opening at whistler. Downside is North Van rush hour. All of my whistler contacts have dried up. You might be able to score a package deal, I would always stay at the Crystal Lodge in the village, it was usually around 120 a night with ticket, parking and such, but also a little later in the year.

Stan, was that your first session when we met? You were like a kid in a candy store with the demos. Thats what it is all about, getting to ride with like minded enthusiasts, ripping it up and spreading the gospel. Hell, even D is starting to soften up after a tale like this.

How's the snow? Any precip? Every time I look at the webcam I see sun. Whats up with that? :rolleyes:
