1. Also, I've never had putting the footbed on my foot work. It always shifts and simply doesn't work. After putting the liner in the boot, put the footbed in, before your foot.
2. No offense, but just having a page isn't enough. The page needs to have eye catching content which is going to stop people and make them take a harder look. The current Bomber Facebook page isn't even close to that.
3. Whoever brought up Facebook I think has the right answer. If you want exposure to the younger generation, Facebook is the one of the most effective, and one of the least expensive ways to do it. There needs to be a central profile or two, maybe the one for Bomber and a general alpine one, and everyone here with Facebook needs to "like" it. Bomber might even want to run a 5% off discount if you "like" both profiles. Additionally, the Facebook link needs to go on the cards we hand out. Then, the pages need to have top line content. Not just videos of people goofing around, or some average rider cruising. There needs to be content on there which arrests people as soon as they see it; awe inspiring.
4. Buy a big sheet of boot fitting foam, and line the inside of the cuff and back of the tongue with two layers. It's what I did with my LeMans, and it works very well.

6. Who are you marking this to? Who does the hinge help?

I'd be interested in them. How much are you looking for? The spring rate I'm not too worried about, since I can always just buy new ones from McMaster.

Looking to buy a RAB set. I need them for a beginner alpine rider who's boots are too stiff in the locked position, and way too soft in the unlocked position.
9. I appreciate the heads up! I figure, worse comes to worse, I'll just slap some tape over the inside of the opening.
10. I'm 6'1" and the heaviest I've ever been at 160 pounds right now.
11. I've ridden the boots before I made the modification, and knew I wanted more motion out of them. However, the weather has sucked around here, so I haven't tested the new modification on snow yet (carving slush scares me). I'm comparing them to my Deeluxe LeMans which had much more range of motion in the ankle. With the Head boots I'd basically hit a wall after just a little movement. Now they have the same range the LeMans had.
12. My new Heads boots still didn't have enough range of motion for me. The issue was the cuff was hitting the back of the lower and was preventing it from flexing forward more. The EC fix for the boot involves drilling out the ankle pivot rivet, and also drilling a hole through the cuff and lower, and slitting them to allow them to flex. After playing around with mine, I didn't feel there was much friction coming from the pivot, and I didn't want to drill it needlessly. I just needed someway to keep the lower from impeding the cuff. After staring at it for a while I took out my Dremel with a 90 degree adapter on it and a small sanding stone. I cut a notch down into the lower where it was contacting the cuff, and then rounded the two sides so there wasn't a ledge for the cuff to catch on when flexed far forward. I also rounded the edges to allow everything to slide easily and prevent anything catching. The boot now flexes enough, and is allowing the BTS to do its job. When flexed forward the notch is exposed in the back, but it covered by the BTS, and I have a hard time seeing any snow getting it. It took about 10 minutes per boot, and I'm very happy with the result.
13. Develop a binding which will allow ski boots to work somewhat well on a board. That would take a huge cost out of the picture for demoing a carving setup for new users. It would also create a very easy entry point for skiers interested in our sport.
14. You should let people know who the seller is so they don't scam someone else.
15. Have you tried Deeluxes before? From what you've explained, I think they'd be the boot least suited to you. To my knowledge, the Deeluxe and Raichle molds are the same.
16. I love cord, but my real passion is trees and touring, and powder is kind of key for those. Also, there is nothing so sublime as soul surfing powder through a grove of aspens .
17. Yup, I've been looking at Bomber's system. Since my Coiler doesn't have wider inserts, and since I'm not getting rid of my Coiler (ever), do you think the Boiler Plate would work well enough? From looking at the pictures, it looks like I should be able to get the necessary axle spacing for my 21.25" stance (my bindings are centered on the furthest apart inserts). I don't want to spend $800 and then have it not work.
18. Then you are, by far, the expection. If you google it, you'll find that's the biggest complaint against 32. In fact, I managed to get a phone number from their parent company, and had myself transfered to them. The person who picked up the phone was very annoyed for needing to talk to a customer, and when I asked my simple question, she said there was no one there to answer it. When I asked why my email hadn't been responded to, she said there was no one there to answer it. When I asked why no one was there, she said everyone was on the road at shows, because it was in season. I asked her shouldn't there be someone there to answer questions if it's in season, and she said no.
19. I just rolled through UPZ, Head, and Deeluxe boots myself. A possible reason why your toes feel pinched in the Heads (which is what happened to me) is there's a huge ridge of plastic inside the boot, just above your toes. If you can, pull the liners out and feel it for yourself, it's pretty shocking how large it is. With the shell stock, it pinched down on my toes. When my bootfitter punched out the toes, he also added a little vertical, pushing that ridge away from my toes. It's perfect now. Another option to dealing with the ridge is grinding it down. For a given size, Deeluxe with have the highest instep, the narrowest toes, and the widest ankle.
20. Would you mind explaining that better? It's also my understand that on Coilers the Donek plate can only be run in its narrowest setting (the from and rear set of inserts are too close together). This means if you have a stance wider than 20.5", you'll be outside the axles, and can get a teeter totter effect. Is this something you've experienced on your Coiler?
21. I guess my question is would the Bomber Boiler suffer from the same increase in squishiness going from the UPM to the 4x4 mount as the Donek plate? I'm very strongly considering getting in line for the 4x4 Boiler. Also, I think you should post this in the main forum.
22. I have two days now on my new HSP boots, and they're quite different from my LeMans. Aside from the much better fit, they're much stiffer and initially it felt like I couldn't move my ankle at all compared to my old boots. However, as I got used to them, I noticed they're much more responsive than my old boots, and I was putting quite a bit more power into the board as well, and it was harder to blow out of a carve. So the Heads are definitely staying, and I just need to get used to how they ride. However, I'd really like to get just a little more lateral flex out of the boots. I've read all the ways how to make the boots' ankle move more freely, but I haven't seen anything about how adjust a boots lateral flex.
23. I have a Fish on the way! Sorry, but a 3800 isn't a Fish, and I the Fish for tight trees.
24. 15,0 isn't really forward. Try turning them up to something like 30,21. I used to ride 15,0, then went to 15,-6 (duck). When I finally went forward to 30,21 things just clicked for me, and now that's the lowest I'll go.
