  1. I'm looking at a used pair of UPZ boots and the seller only has this information: THE TONGUE IS MARKED 7-9.5 THE UPPER SHELL IS MARKED 8.5-12.5 THE LOWER SHELL IS MARKED 8.5-9.5 ON THE OUTSIDE NEAR THE HEEL THEY ARE MARKED 312 MILLIMETERS Does anyone know what MP size that would be?
  2. I'm looking to buy UPZ boots in a size 27. I'd prefer it be something softer than the RSV, but I'd still take an RSV as well. zkorossy {at} gmail [dot] com
  3. Sorry, I kind of changed the topic without signaling. I'm asking if there's any downside to the AF plate (as a whole system) compared to last year's Donek plate (as a whole system). Is there any reason someone would want to go with the older style plate system over the new AF system?
  4. Is there any drawback with going with the AF plate over the standard Donek plate?
  5. Will it be possible to buy just the AF hardware for an existing Donek plate?
  6. SOLD SOLD SOLD I bought these boots on here two years ago when I was trying a bunch of different boots. They're one size too big for me, otherwise I'd be using them myself. They're labeled UPS (which became UPZ) and are the same design as the current RC-10 (the RC-10 has new plastics, new buckles, and a different cant mechanism . These are also softer than the UPZ RTR boots I also tried. They have red Thermoflex liners in them which have been molded several times already. The boots shape is narrower in the heel and wider in the toes than Deeluxe/Raichle or Head. Honestly, I don't even know how much these go for, so please make me an offer. zkorossy (at) gmail <dot> com </dot>
  7. I also need to mention that the boots have the 5 position forward lean adjusters. One of them broke a while back to I replaced with another one that was gray, so the boots now have a black and a gray forward lean adjuster.
  8. This is what I did to mine: http://www.bomberonline.com/VBulletin/showthread.php?33770-Another-way-to-soften-Head-boots-flex However, you need to be running a BTS or similar device for this to work.
  9. Does anyone have details on Donek's new plate system? I've seen the pictures on Facebook, but I'd love to know how it actually works and what it's like to ride.
  10. SOLD SOLD SOLD These are my old Deeluxe LeMans boots. They've had shell work done to provide some more room and width for the toes, and it has two layers of boot fitting foam glued into the cuffs for lower volume legs. They worked very well, but I moved to Head boots which just fit me a little better. They have Intuitions, but one has been molded four times, and the other one 5 times. They have about one molding left in them. They come with the standard boot angle adjusters. $125 shipped in the 48 states.
  11. Except the two are very different things. With snowboarding there is a person with 100% responsibility for keeping clear of the other person. You don't have that in motorcycle racing.
  12. I hope you don't mind me asking, but what did polio do to your leg exactly?
  13. - Have you considered dialing in more heal lift in the back? If the heal sits higher, the boot won't need to flex as much. - Have you modified the boot to allow it to flex? - This may sound weird, but do you maybe have the boot buckled too tight?
  14. I think Ride bindings in general are great, and they're all I ride with soft boots. The El Hefe just looks to continue that. It does make me a little sad, however, that they've dropped the SPi.
  15. Time to buy a motard. Seriously, they're the greatest things. Slower, easier to handle, more fun, and you can take it off road (where it's a lot safer).
  16. I've hit my head pretty severely both snowboarding and mountain biking, and I will not be quitting either. I will not stop doing something I love simply because there's an element of danger. What's the point of staying safer if you don't get to enjoy it? I just make a point of educating myself and mitigating the dangers as much as possible.
  17. I've found Head boots to have a narrower heel than Deeluxe, with an instep at least as low: http://www.bomberonline.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=33100
  18. Are you sure you have a Deeluxe shaped foot?
