Very good condition KESSLER THE ALPINE 174 cm GS , light surface scratches from normal use. Approximately 30days on this board.

Base is very good, still plenty of edges left.

Hasn't seen much action past few years. Needs new home.

Stiff flex, very nice rare 174cm length, more appropriate for East Coast mountains.

Don’t have the exact specs on this board since it was bought used 3 years ago, only put in 4 short sessions on it since.

I’d approximate weight range from 170 to 220lbs.
Sidecut radius  10-15.6m.

Nose witdh: 24.0cm

Waist width: 19.0cm

tail width: 22.2cm

stance range: 45cm to 53cm

I don’t know the difference between Austrian vs Swiss made but it doesn’t appear to have a Swiss symbol on the “R” of “Kessler” on topsheet or base.  Could be an indicator? Also, is there something going on with the sidewall near the tail and numbers? Numbers on tail could be indicator of age too? Haven’t been around this alpine gear too long to confirm but there’s gotta be someone to help get this board a nice home, if rideable. Kant go wrong with a Kessler.

I'm told by a good source that the Austrian ones were made by F2.  I had one, great board.  It said "Made in Austria" on the sidewall.  This looks like a custom, which probably would have been made at the Kessler factory in Switzerland.  174 is not a stock Kessler size.

Got info back from Kessler today:

Produced in 2009

Radius: 15.6 m

Width: 190mm

Flex: medium (I do think it's more on the stiffer side of things)

He also quoted weight range around 65-75 kg.  so around 165lbs.

I'm 175lbs and find this board to be stiff. At my weight I find it's more appropriate for racing gates and  riding it aggressively. I only rode it a few times & enjoyed it when I felt like I was on an A-game kind of day.

I'm now more of a freecarve type of rider. Ridding mostly with my young kids, so don't get to open up the machine that often.

Love my K168 and I'm heading back out to Squaw for work next winter so Lots Of Room for a bigger Kessler to prowl 🤩

What is the sidecut radius?  Typically Kesslers are reported as a range, like 10-14m.

So if a clothoid  sidecut wouldn't it range like  10-15.6???

Impossible to know for sure without asking Kessler directly.  It could very well be 12-18m, or 13-17m, but even then you don't know exactly how it's going to turn because the longest section could be in the tail or at the waist or under one foot, etc.  Suffice to say it will make turns of a similar size as a 15.6m single radius sidecut, but with better versatility.  I don't think they would tell you it was an average of 15.6m if the range was 10-15.6.

Hey IG,

I love my 19.5 K168  So sorta want to try a 19 waist.

Has the base been ground or any base or edge work done while in your possession?  You know what the B and E angles are on this??
