MNSurfer
I've had to remove a couple (perfectly good) of stomp pads, doe to mounting of plate systems. Is it possible to re-use these? Is there a certain method to get these sticking? I thought about epoxy (or the like), but am hesitant due to the permanence of this solution. Any ideas? Thanks. -Brian

jburk
Industrial strength Velcro. Works like a charm, you can pull the pad off to stack boards for shipping or if you ever need to get a board ground, pad never comes off unless you pull it off. VELCRO Brand - Industrial Strength | Indoor & Outdoor Use | Superior Holding Power on Smooth Surfaces | Size 4ft x 2in | Tape, White - Pack of 1 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00006IC2U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_22pKCb6BG7A6B comes in black as well, a quick search in amazon should bring it up.
bigwavedave
Contact cement, type used in construction to attach laminate, the stuff that has to dry for 5 min before you stick it on. Remains flexible and can be removed with some heat. Use goo-gone if needed to remove old glue and denatured alcohol to prep surface for good adhesion. MNSurfer
Thanks for the tips, y'all. I like the Velcro idea.
Corey
Velcro is the best thing ever. Can remove the pads if you need to nest boards together while traveling.
daveo
What about 3M Dual Lock? I have some of this lying around. Wanna try this velcro idea, I like it.
bigwavedave
Yeah, the velcro sounds easy-peasy. Didn't know they had industrial grade velcro, cause I found the regular stuff unreliable and short lived, at least in other applications. I've been working my way through the same can of contact cement for 20+ years (and not only on stomp pads), and there's still 1/3 of a can left My stubborn Yankee frugality gene says since it works so well, that I have to use the rest of the can. It'll definitely hold, but could you ever get it apart with that much surface area engaged? Even the velcro needs some dedicated effort to remove.
