Dan Posted December 18, 2016 Report Share Posted December 18, 2016 I saw it yesterday, and I think it was a very good Star Wars movie, in the sense that it filled in some previously unknown areas of the story in an interesting way that maybe added some depth to the Alliance that we haven't seen before: they are much more like backs-to-the-wall resistance fighters who are desperate enough to do anything than we've seen in past movies. It didn't have the epic scope of the trilogy movies, but in a way, that's a good thing. It's nice to explore the SW universe with a little less baggage. Having said that, if it wasn't a Star Wars movie, I think most people would say "yah, that movie was fine" and it would have a lukewarm reception at the box office. As a Star Wars movie, I think it's going to do well. My wife is not a fan of the series and said she enjoyed the move from start to finish - no checking her watch :-) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
