Good light and soft groom this morning - I loaned Jim my Incline so he could experience the pleasure of a wider board and he seemed to take to it quite readily. Light went flat in the afternoon, but still a great day overall.

We'll both be out at 9am tomorrow.

A great weekend capped by Sunday ride-fest with Russ and Dave...(Ken ...Where were you?).....Was fun to hear of Dave's SES experience.

We tried to up the film-footage benchmarks but SOMEONE (yeah, me :smashfrea) had a fail on the first attempt of Dave's idea for using the long pole ..... looks like Dave was able to pull some great stills from the effort. I will start putting together edits of the rest of the day footage from my camera and will wait to get Dave's film-footage to link it all together .....great fun on a great day.

Dave, please load your clips from last weekend on a flash drive and let me know when you next hit Duluth....mid week or otherwise. I have loaded my clips onto the flash drive you gave me last year and I will swap with you. If its mid-week, I will run up to the hill and grab it from you...I work 10 minutes from the hill.... Otherwise, will catch it on the weekend if you're up.

This weekend weather is looking good. 24-28 degrees , less than 10 MPH winds, mostly sunny..........if only it holds......Will be up out both days again.

Are we still on for Indianhead Thursday?

I'm good for Thursday - I've also mentioned it to Patroller Don and JOlson is interested, and yes there is room at the inn.

Took off from work yesterday with the original intent of working on my taxes and maybe a short session in the morning. Flat light at the start that gradually improved to full sun just before noon. Rode with Patroller Don then Jim (bruincounselor) from Fargo later in the morning; I thought my gear was old school but Jim one-upped me on that by riding an old Burton asym slalom board. Despite it's age and outdated technology, it seemed to work pretty well for him! Couldn't leave once the sun came out so didn't quite get my taxes finished.....

I'll be out Saturday morning but have to work on Sunday:(

Russ - very good connecting with you. My anlkle is indeed swollen and bruised from my little tumble so the short board got me after all. I'm doing rest, ice, vitatiman I, and rocking a cane in the hope to be back in 2 weeks.

A perfect snow and weather day. My wife and I ..first tracks with the Go Pro mounted on the board, then Russ, then Dave with his new Coiler addition, then Ken and his wife.....

Into about my seventh run, barely an hour into the day and about a nano second after I think to myself..."Can it get any better?...I GET NAILED.....

I had gone down Double Jaw, finishing a toe side toward the edge of the hill along the woods, no one in front of me for the whole run...I do a quick head check up the hill as I set up for my heel side away from the woods and when I look back to set the heel side hard, some JIBBER comes screaming out of the woods from the run next (four pipe) and jumps directly into my path....:AR15firinNOT F*&%d &&G GOOD. Major collision as he lands on the front of my board and I get launched about 25 feet down the hill..... Nothing broke and I am glad we both eventually got up but I took some satisfaction in that he laid in the snow a hair longer than I did. This is the second time I have been hit but NOTHING like this...man...THANK GOD for helmets...my melon hit the ground so hard I still cannot tell you why my shoulder, neck and throat and right thigh hurt.....

End of story....Was too banged up and pissed to even crawl up to the guy to rip his lift ticket...simply asked if he needed a toboggen and he said no so I limped down the hill, hooked up with Marl and hit the road for home.....Sore as hell but MORE PISSED about my wasted PERFECT day on the hill....MAN!!!

I am determined to get out tomorrow but will see how I fall out of bed in the morning..........

That's really too bad...There really needs to be some serious red tape between Double Jaw and Four-Pipe like there is between Scissor Bill and Four-Pipe. Even if it can't prevent cross-run traffic, they'll have to slow down a lot.

Hope to have you back tomorrow.

Jim - Dave and I were partway up on the lift when I saw you start down and also saw the boarder crossing Fourpipe....I was expecting to see you lower, but you never showed....as we climbed higher we saw you both on the ground and then get up. Saw you at the top of the Express next time around but couldn't catch up. Glad to hear you were able to get off on your own power. Hope you can do some rehab tomorrow morning!

Had a good day back on the hill. Dave was on a mission as Pole-cam guy.....took some shots following Ken and I and also mentioned he dropped the pole under the lift on the way up and got some shots as we came down...will wait to see how those turn out. We talked about waiting till all the clips are in and I' just do a full 2012-13 REMIX like the 2010-11....... Ken and Jane were out today ...she competed in the SLOPESIDE compititon which drew the crowds off four - pipe....worked for us quite well. Missed Russ as it was great snow (not as good as yesterday). Met Steve from Buck Hill and had a few laps with him, would be fun to see more of the Twin Cities group up our way for a full weekend.
