BobD
edit: kessler/palmer ski made in austria: design: kessler ski:head factory I read somewhere about maybe the Head factory, and given the Head/ Palmer distribution connection, that would make sense. I also read about Kessler being involved in building Atomics race room skis. That's interesting.
Jack M
I am interested in the pair of skis at Sierra which are 155cm @ 10.5R. I know the sierra site says that, but the skis say 12m on them. I haven't measured them. I just watched that video... I'd say that guy needs to get on a snowboard! I also think he's headed for ACL injury. BobD
155 - 10.5 163 - 12.5 171 - 14.9 I thought the 163 would be the best all round, but as I had the 171, I also bought the 155 to be able to change it up. Also found this on epic, posted by exoticskis As a sidenote...it appears Kessler licensed the design to Head for production under the Palmer name.I met Hansjürg Kessler as ISPO this year...very dedicated and passionate snowboard and ski shaper. Serious carving snowboards and skis.
nekdut
Head = Tyrolia, right? Their SL 100s are the same? As are the Free Flex Pros and LD 12s? I want to be sure I pick up the right set of bindings, and avoid having to drill.

I want to be sure I pick up the right set of bindings, and avoid having to drill. The plate should accept any Head, or Tyrolia binding, except railflex. The sl100 has a 21mm stand height. You can get an extra 10mm with the sl110, if you might get boot out. on the palmers
Jack M
did we get different skis, is R=K10.5 M the turn radius? Gee I don't know. I'm 99% sure my wife's 155s say 12m on them, but I don't have access to them right now to double check, and I might not be able to until next fall. nekdut
Jack, the pair I just received say 10.5m on them. Maybe you have 163s, or a misprinted topsheet? These sure are pretty. You can see a nice sandwich construction and the double titanal layer. Sharpening and tuning them right now.......... I hope I remember how to ski :)

RideGuy
I got a question about the SP-13 plates that come on the Palmer skis. Is it correct that they only take Tyrolia Bindings? Are there any other brands that fit?

BobD
Anyone speak German? I would be interested to know what was being said about the factory - were they making Palmer and Kessler skis? <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mwfn4fbWns&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mwfn4fbWns&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

Emdee406
Only just saw this thread... Our local Palmer Rep sold me a pair of the 171's, I couldn't resist a $1200 ski with binding for a silly price! They are too big for me though and I haven't skied them (they are used already). These days when I go skiing, its with my 5 year old and I have a pair of 155 Slalom skis, which are less work when you're in a wedge! Anyone out there want to take these Kessler-designed Palmers off my hands? Drop me a line...
