BTS question

I'm thinking about buying BTS springs for my Raichle AF 600s and am interested in input from those who may have already purchased them. I'm thinking about going soft (yellow) on the toeside and medium (blue) on the heelside. A few facts about myself and skill level may help with any feedback: (1) I weigh 165 lbs; (2) I ride an f2 Silberpfeil 80% of the time with my f2 Speedster coming out of the quiver on those true hardpack days; (3) While I'd like to say I'm in the advanced category of carvers :), intermediate would be more truthful; (4) I've got my Raichles set with forward flex and no heelside flex.

Any and all input would be appreciated. Good turns!

Got them (Blue/Blue) :1luvu: them, but want to try yellow/yellow. Keep in mind the spring rates within the same color (according to chart) are more than doubled on the heel already.

The BTS are a 'steal' at the Sale Price.

I didn't realize the rear spring had double the tension of the front. This would almost automatically cover the fact that I like more stiffness on my heelside. I'm going to dig around on the web site to try to find that chart.

king crimson is on blue in that boot.

IMO yellow might be good or might not, blue is a safer bet. it would be more supple than the locked boot but would not be super loose.

I have seen a couple people with yellow springs and they put a ton of pre-load on them, negates the point of a softer spring.

I ride the 700s with blue springs, I'm a lot heavier though.

Here's the Specs, copied from BTS page:

Technical Data

Long (toe side) springs = 3" (7.62cm) long

Short (heel side) springs = 1.5" (3.9cm) long

Spring Rates: units = lbs/in (N/mm)

Yellow "Long" Spring = 96 (25)

Yellow "Short" Spring = 200 (56)

Blue "Long" Spring = 144 (60)

Blue "Short" Spring = 320 (129)

Red "Long" Spring = 340 (82)

Red "Short" Spring = 656 (177)

Pay attention to the numbers though...
