Home Alpine Snowboard Tuning - do you do it?

I used to wax all the time when I was a softie-boots at the time. Mostly use OneBall Jay with an iron I picked up from Thrift shop or my old iron I personally grew up with. I tend to use copper brush to make the scratches after I scrap off the wax. I use a simple basic 90 degrees sharpner.

Now with my alpine board, I wouldn't wax it -- I take it to Racer's Edge in Breck or Carl's in Avon. Heard Snowell's good in Vail, tho'. I really dont want to take chances with my Madd 158 that I really "reverend" that board.

With my skis, I just wax 'em. I dont sharpen 'em. Tho now I think of it, I should cuz today it was icy at work. :-/

OK, after getting my initial investement in home tuning tools, used them and got very very happy, today I was wondering around Dicks Sporting Goods. By the hunting section, I saw some knife and hooks sharpening tools. Well, One of them is a diamond one. It has two diamond stones - 325 and 750. Both of them are ~10-11 cm long and will fit any of the base and side tools. The price - $20. After researching the prices for diamond files, this may be a really good price.

Just a tought, likely a crazy one :biggthump.
