OT: This may make you feel stupid

Not bad, seeing as I'm not American, and have never lived there. I'm OK on the western states, and have a rough idea of the south, but I didn't even bother to try the east. All those itty-bitty states - what's the point?

And that whole "mid-west" area (which is really in the east if you ask me) - I have no idea what's what there.

Anyway, try these:<ul><li><p><a href="http://www.rethinkingschools.org/just_fun/games/mapgame.html">Middle-east geography quiz 1</a><li><p><a href="http://www.lizardpoint.com/fun/geoquiz/mideastquiz.html">Middle-east geography quiz 2</a><li><p><a href="http://www.lizardpoint.com/fun/geoquiz/euroquiz.html">Europe geography quiz 1</a><li><p><a href="http://www.what-is-the-capital-of.com/europe/map2-europe.html">Europe geography quiz 2</a> (I scored 80% on this one, and I'm not from Europe)</ul>

THIRD GRADE TEST

I got them all, but it took some serious guesswork to get the Central states. The coastal states were easy as I'm from the Northeast (lots of small little states) and now live on the West coast (big states),

I seriously doubt that a third grader could do it any faster. Heck half the trouble was dragging the names across fast enough. It's just a test designed to make you feel dumb.

Heh, in 6th grade we actually memorized every country and major waterbody (327 locations in total if I remember). Unfortunately I cannot spout all of them out in a song like some people (from Animaniacs - a cartoon).

Try the Wonderlic Personality Test - I just learned about it randomly in the news, NFL teams use it to test the mental processing of the player. Most players who have agents get some practice on it (like SATs -- you can master it with enough practice) and score in the 15-25 range. However, some are completely unprepared, a few score in the single digits (teams get a little worried). Comes with a sample 2 minute test.

Wow... I got 9/9 (50) in 35 sec. It's interesting to see the scores some of the football players got. I guess it just goes to show snowboarders (at least the alpiners) are more intellectual. :)

Man, football players aren't too bright, are they? That's got to be one of your easier IQ-type tests. I presume the sample doesn't scale well to the full test - usually the question difficulty is on a sort of curve so that only a few people can get the tougher questions. Those were all pretty easy.

I Googled Wonderlic, and found only this with more sample questions:

Still nothing that could trip me up though!

Yea, the thing is that the questions get progressively harder, so with the short sample ones we never get to see the last few questions, which maybe difficult to answer in the 12 minute time limit.

I felt the 16 question sample test (the one you found is the one I originally tried) wasn't that hard... but given a time limit of 3 and a half minutes you could see how someone a little slow or even just a little rusty on problem solving could mess up a few.
