Thor VonRippington
Bryan - can you give us a comment on post #22? If that aint HCBP... I don't know what is!
www.oldsnowboards.com
This is a Tinkler 252cm , photo taken at OES last year. Video can be seen in the OES video I posted to You Tube. Does this help? I don't understand the rest of your post? Initials mean? Bryan

ar(angel
Glad to see someone appreciates and can relate to my situation. I get harassed alot about not getting up to the mountain as much as some of my buddies, but I do what I can. I was with Albertsons for 10 years before going to work for Walgreens some 10 years ago now. Retail's hell but it's what I do. One of these years I'm going to take the week off for SES, just wish they'd move it from Valentines week to the end of February. Here's a pic of me on the Virus on one of the "rare" days I make it up....
Thor VonRippington
Hmm, are you hinting about the 282cm photos? It looks similar only LONGER!! Much longer. The 282 would be fun... but a pile of "short ones" would work too
ar(angel
on almost all of your boards. If I'm not mistaken some are the Palmer Power Plates or whatever they called them, but the others I don't recognize. I've been looking at the F2 S-Flex system, but am not $500.00 worth of convinced I need them. I used to ride a F2 Silberpfiel with a Conshox on it and I still regret selling that board to this day. It had alot of the characteristics that are mentioned about the S-Flex equiped boards, heavier weight, more damp, would cut through anything, etc. etc. I still have the Conshox, but haven't tried it on the other boards in my quiver (see post earlier in thread) Could it be that I'm actually missing the "height" the Conshox provided for me and not the actual board? Maybe Bryan and Thor can chime in here, what do you guys think? Is trying the Conshox on one of my other boards a plausible idea? What's your take on the S-Flex system? I already read through the other S-Flex threads posted here after pulling them up in the search que, but I'd like to hear some fresh opinions. www.oldsnowboards.com
Hi Paul, I can't comment on the "S Flex" , I understand the "Con Shox" is specifically designed to work on F2 snowboards. I would imagine that if you are careful to match the camber and contact points of the con shox on other boards it would work as intended. I too have a con shox that I would like to try on a couple F2 boards to verify it's effectiveness. I am relatively certain it will be good but not nearly as effective as the Tinkler System boards in flex and dampening. If you like the feel of the con shox, you would more than likely enjoy the ride of the Tinkler boards.
ar(angel
I actually had forgotten about the Tinkler system, I was busy posting my question when you posted that great picture of the "Wall of Tinklers". I saw it as soon as I posted my question and realized I should have considered those too. The thing that got me thinking about all this was the risers in Ursle's post and the remarks made in the S-Flex threads I found that kept coming back to the "height" that almost everyone remarked about in conjunction with the Hangle/S-Flex/Riser systems. It dawned on me that the "height" or "rise" I experienced with the Con Shox was one of the things I didn't have with any of my current set-ups. I've made a decision this season to try more "adjusting" along with trying to get out and ride more in order to improve my riding. Proper technique will probably be my biggest focus, but the equipment side won't get over looked either. Thanks for your help.

I already read through the other S-Flex threads posted here after pulling them up in the search que, but I'd like to hear some fresh opinions. The silver are 5/8th's tall, I use them on 17.1 width boards, the red are 1" tall also made by palmer, I use them on 15.3 and thinner boards, that's an older photo, these days I ride on the kessler lifters photo below I like lifters because they, a) spread the load of the binding out to the edges of the board b) raise me an inch, let's me tip the board on edge with boot out less of an issue c) dampen the ride, especially on ice Haven't yet had my paws on the s-flex, can't wait to , conshox seems to work on only one brand of board? BadBrad
To me this one looks like an IKEA Cupboard: That one second from right looks like binding angles around 85*. On my 19cm board with 60* angles I get asked if it is a "skiboard" or a "monoski". I can only imagine what people think of that super skinny board with near 90-degree angles. Thor VonRippington
Your input would be appreciated here I do have some thoughts... maybe I'll head over to that thread and chime in. For now though... the Vamp is like riding a stick of butter.. smoothest ride I own. I don't see your girlfriend in that pic? Don't tell me I spent all that time stroking her for nothing?!? I decided the Phantom metal was not for me due to the stiffness (although I could change my mind in a matter of seconds) . "The Salesman" swears it was built for him... but I just can't see that. That board is one of the stiffest boards I've ever tried to flex standing on carpet... let alone a crowded ski run. He's hinting that he might ride it.. if so, maybe I'll get to take it for a run.. but that's just too much coin to throw down for an experiment. ar(angel
I'm very interested in trying a riser system of some kind, I just don't know which one. The Conshox is specifically designed for the F2's, but I believe either CFJ04 or C5 Golfer has adapted one to a Renntiger in the past if I'm not mistaken. I still have my Conshox, maybe I'll try it out on my make-shift all mountain board (see pic below) Let me know what you'd consider in my postion, I'd appreciate your opinion. BTW I'm 6'2" 185lbs if dimensions matter....

D.T.
I decided the Phantom metal was not for me due to the stiffness (although I could change my mind in a matter of seconds) . Come on now!!! It's half as stiff as those FP's that snowman rides. Man up!!:D "The Salesman" swears it was built for him... but I just can't see that. Since he doesn't turn, flex does not matter. :D He's hinting that he might ride it.. if so, maybe I'll get to take it for a run.. He rode it. It think he was busy admiring his reflection the whole way down the mountain. Conditions were so-so and I don't think he had enough time to get dialed in on it. I am guessing it will be at Lovey on the 19th.

Buell
No Thor, it is just me. From left: 160 Khyber, 166 Spearhead, 176 Pow Stick, 177, 183, 187 Prior Metals. At the moment, the Spearhead is just blowing me away in the powder. Great powder board! The Pow Stick has gone from being mostly mine to entirely Rebecca's this season. She put the hammer down and took it from me after a powder day at Bachelor a couple of weeks ago. She says I can get another one for myself. Mike has quite a quiver of Coilers if we can get him to post a pic!
