K A guy I was riding with this weekend at at Killington had a pair of Solomons with a similar lacing system, he couldn't stop talking about how awesome they are. http://www.salomonsnowboard.com/us/products/MALAMUTE-2-419204.html

paragonUE
i rock a pair of old axis laces ups (no cables or fancy pully systems here) and the laces allow for great forgiving support. look into some lace up models, i love mine
Boarder_Ted
D.C. boots have always been real snug on me. Hated the fit actually. The Van's are their low-end model so would be a bit softer. The liner is also on the less supportive side- not a lot to it. Fit is pretty good though. If you want to look at a high-end Van's boot, try the Contra or what used to be the Fargo dual boa- not sure what it's called now. I'm not familiar with your other choice. I've been on Atomic Waiver Boas now for 3 years and really like them. Very stiff boot. The latest incarnation has a thermo liner so I'm actually using the stock liner for the first time in years. Used to use a Raichle thermoflex. If I had my druthers I'd opt for something with a dual Boa system though. It's real nice to have the option of tightening the upper independently from the lower. Anyway...good luck.
Phil
I am in my second season on BOA's I have the Atomic Tremor. I switch quite a bit between hardboots, ski boots and soft boots. The BOA system makes it so much easier than laces. They also tighten the boot up better than laces due to the lack of friction. I highly recommend them. It would not hurt to have a spare cable on hand, though, as I have seen some break. Unlike laces, when they break you cannot run to the shop to get a new cable, you have to order it in your size. svr
I have been using the Vans Fargo Focus and just switched to a K2 Tracker Boa (Japan only model based on the T1 DB) that uses the focus dual boa as well and I love the zonal adjustment on them. A single boa boot is great, but I like to ride with my boots slightly loose around my foot and super tight around my ankle and calf and the focus works perfect for this and for hiking in the backcountry it is great to loosen them up as well. gdboytyler
I highly recommend the K2 T1. It uses the BOA system on the inner bladder and regular laces on the outside. The K2 T1 are the best soft boots I've tried. These are the first soft boots I've had that have zero heel lift. The T1's matched up with Flow bindings, have re-invigorated my soft-boot carving.
