Basically Bode missed a pole plant and nearly fell over coming out of the starting gate, the bottom of his left handed pole slammed into the side of the starter tent and he nearly went down immediately. He sort of stumbles out of the gate and then goes into the first turn and does a hip check and nearly wipes out again.

they used to but FIS is gay and Jake yanked it from the US Open too so not really. Super G is why the giant boards of the 90s existed 195s 197s with 17 to 18ish SCRs

Standing at a turn on the Birds of Prey Downhill at the Beav and watching Bode and others fly past at freeway speeds is one the coolest spectator memories I have.

Look for Soldier Mtn Downhill on this one. I have done this one a few times. It's not a super bad downhill, but I hit about 75mph on Monument face, its amazing how small a big board feels at that speed.

If you just do the Sammis Camas you don't need the USSA license that you do for the intermountain downhill. 2200 vert feet on this one and it gets you going.

The Lane Parrish Bumps and Super G race is usually the end of March in Sun Valley. They have a bumps contest on Saturday and a Super G on Sunday. Won that once even though I crashed myself silly in the frozen bumps, I still loosened up enough to smoke the super G like a cheap joint. You can do just the super G too, you don't have to bump.

So yes, Virginia, there are some SuperG for snowboards.
