willywhit Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 Crazy Tom has finally cracked his Canyon 181 and needs to replace it. He rides Burton physics and some custom swiss hard boots size 13.He rides hard and fast and he's like 6' 210 and a tough dude, still plays hockey at 36. What is a good board for him that's long and wide enuf to come close to the Canyon's width ? I'd really like to see him get a Prior or Coiler or similiar cuz I know he'd love it. He won't ride anything too skinny. He wants to spend $400. He's not much of an internet/email guy so I'm trying to help him out. He's not all carving obsessed like most of us here. He can wire up a home theatre like nobody's business (his job) and races stand up jet skiis (his real passion). Any advice is truly appreciated. Quote
Dr D Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 right price range and a new custom board wide and stiff and long enough to do the job:eplus2: he doesn't make them any longer YET:angryfire Quote

Strider Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 Custom builder in MN. The guy rides Cateks on his own board. http://www.novemberboards.com/ The Whistler is the board to look at. Quote
mackDan Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 find a 178 or longer Proton GS. Very stiff, long, thin. great ride. Quote
nekdut Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 The Proton is certainly not close to being as wide as a Canyon. Tankers are probably your best bet. The Donek Sasquatch might work too but he might want more length. Quote
Neil Gendzwill Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 He'll blow his budget with a Tanker unless he wants to go shorter - I think hardbooter still has an '05 177 oversize at $475 and free shipping. I think those have a 27 cm waist. The 172 at the same price is narrower. If he wants longer, exoticboards has them but they're $700. Quote
tex1230 Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 sorry my tanker suggestion was to find a used one...I know they're pricey Quote

willywhit Posted January 19, 2007 Author Report Posted January 19, 2007 post ghost strikes again!hey willy...ever looked at Glissade boards? good suggestion, a BIG GUN 185 would be a good board for him, good luck finding one used tho. $550 new a Never Summer T5 would be great but 172 is as big as they get :( just noticed that Jesse Huffman rides for Glissade now. I used to see him and his twin Lukas tearing up Sugarbush way back when, and they were with O Sin (I think they were still in high school) Glissade is in San Fran , right ? Quote
