AaronG
Derf, I remember those bikes with the 700c wheels. I think that they were produced by Diamond Back, at that time, I thought it was a weird idea. The bikes came with a Manitou fork, elastomer suspension internals. I think that fork got (hold onto your hats) 1 1/2-2 inches of travel.

The bikes came with a Manitou fork, elastomer suspension internals. I think that fork got (hold onto your hats) 1 1/2-2 inches of travel. It was the norm back then. Elastomer suspensions were limited by the bumper's compression, so 4" of bumbers gave 2" of travel. The end of the travel was very hard compared to the start. Halson then came up with the Inversion with longer bumpers and a separate bumper set that limited the travel, so it was much smoother. Neil Gendzwill
Mine isn't a mountain bike, it's a hybrid. But the frame looks kinda mountain bike-y and the tires are fairly big.
Derf
With sloping top tubes everywhere, even some modern road bikes have the same look.
jnshapiro
Justin, did you ever take care of the flex issue? I had that problem with a Bianchi. Turned out that the frame was just too flexy for my weight (185). I had to get a much stiffer frame. Here's a pic of my road bike. The MTB is in the garage and covered in muck. I need to clean it up.
