It's rep for being flat for carving? Upper Liftline and Standard are pretty steep. Throw in Spruce and I would say Stratton is more then fine for 95% of the carvers on this board. The grooming is 2nd to none. I mean Stowe and the Loaf are steep, But the grooming sucks. And I would be hard pressed to find another area in the NE, that on a regular basis you will have between 5 to 10 carvers mid week.

Ok, So here is the deal. I, (Sean) was offered the position to manage Equipe Sport @ the base of Stratton and I have taken it. The five years I worked at the Startingate with Gary were great times and there is no bad blood, But like a lot of things in life, it was time to move on. I met some great people and great riders. To answer some questions, the tuning at Equipe in the Village will be as good as it was at the Gate. Equipe spent over $100,000.00 on new/re-built machinery over the spring/summer with my input (I wouldn't have staked my reputation on it if it weren't true). There will be no hard good staff hold over from last season at the Village Store, so this means I am assembling a team that will be great at Boot fitting and tuning. As for selling Alpine equipment, we will see. I am trying to get some demos together for this season and we will go from there. Chance from the Startingate will not be joining me as he has taken the job as a Tech. Rep for Elan/Dalbello in Colorado. But don't be surprised to see some Startingate Alum on my new staff. The service at Equipe will be 2<SUP>nd</SUP> to none, so if you are in the village @ Stratton, stop by and say hi. I hope this answers any questions one would have. Sir, you are wrong. Diffrent grinds for diffrent snow. In fact the above statement is so wrong on so many levels, It could be crazy talk.... As for PTC, Mike has been know to say "Flat boards and Flat skis are overrated." So I just threw your post out the window......

Be asking “how far to go?” I mean, I would rather get a board back the is 85% flat and that has a grind or 2 left then a perfectly flat board that had no life left. Let’s be real, none of us are on the WC so I would think that a “rather flat board” would be fine for most of us.

Jack, I can see where you are coming from, Yet I don't. Year after year, the Startingate brings in Alpine equipment into the store. The owner does it out of the love of the sport not for the profit. Yet you chose to run these events 3 to 6 hours away from the Gate. The tuning at the Gate is on par with SKIMD or Edgewise. And this comes from current World Cup tuners. On any giving day, The Gate sees more Alpine Riders and US Snowboard team members then most on the board see in a lifetime. I just don’t get the excuse that “Things are in motion.” I am sure a call to 1-800-STRATTON could take care of all your needs. Also, the “We need challenging terrain”. While I was not a participant at Stowe last time, I was an on looker and I can count on one hand the riders that were able to “Ride Stowe”. Plus, I am sure that Lift line, Standard not to mention a groomed Bear Down or Free Fall could take care of all your “terrain needs”. Plus, it could also make the Startingate feel a little more love from the alpine community.

Why is the ECES not at Stratton? Isn't the only shop east of the Miss. river that supports our sport at the bottom of the access road? I mean CmC doesn't work there anymore, so why the hate????
