  1. Bad, bad binding bias! Maybe it made sense long ago, when boards were very skinny and stances narrow. However, it leads to overutilizing front foot on heel side turns and back foot on the toe side turns.
  2. I can ride anything from 0° to 30° splay. It depends on angles (board width) and cant/lift setup. Nowadays, my back hip/groin seems to be happiest at about 10°.
  3. It was a sunny Whistler day for me, with a bunch of ski trainers from Cypress. Toy of the day: Nirvana 180 Run of the day: Whistler peak t-bar
  4. I think you'll be able to upload/download on Lions, to get to Sky.
  5. I think they've just renamed the Ride. There's one for sale in the classifieds.
  6. Another drizzly evening at Cypress, but actually not too bad snow. It seems we had quite a lot of new snow, the previous night. Only 2 people showed up for the session, but it was a good one. BXFR.
  7. Drizzle all day... Sessions in the am and pm. Limited vis at the times. BXFR.
  8. ^ That's our own Crackaddict, from Revelstoke.
  9. We just had a mini ice age over here.
  10. Fun laps with Patrick all morning. Big Nirvana performing like a champ. Around lunch I switched to Spectre, to get some bumps/trees. Yucky conditions of the Sky Chair. Run of the day: Windjammer. Cafeteria adventures: Good: pulled pork is back! Bad: I have slipped on the wet floor and fell on my elbow, dangerously tweeking the shoulder. I'm icing it as I'm writing this.
  11. We had a mix of carv/freerde instructor session, last night. Even 2 skiers started with us! We progressed from mild runs, angulatilon and early edge while carving concepts, to progress onto steep and bumpy stuff. Everyone had fun. Toy: Spectre 163
  12. Very nice snow, appart from couple of boobytraps. 2x 3hr sessions, am - skiers and snowboarders mixed, pm - boarders only, fun. I think that I caught a glimpse of Tony, on Horizon... I folded the nose on BXFR, which launched me into a front flip, bounced of my back back onto the base of the board... ninja... but not so much now, that all the bruises have cooled off.
  13. Merc convertibles are great. I have an old SLK as my summer toy, love it. The only thing I dislike is the early version of engine computer/chip. It kind of learns how you drive and tries to adjust the engine torque/acceleration to it. With the city driving at slower speed and lots of stopping, it becomes a granny car after a while. I do the factory reset every now and then, to keep it lively.
  14. Excellent carving snow, even for the evening conditions! Nice instructor session. BXFR. Getting to the mountain was an absolute mess, though. Had a mini bumper-bash on Hastings, then got stuck on 2nd narrows bridge...
  15. Snow is back to the local mountains! Some freshness in the am, combined with poor vis, turned into skier-compacted solid pack in the pm. Instructor training sessions whole day. Toys: Nidecker Spectre and Coiler BXFR.
  16. ATV is normally 23.5 wide, unless custom. Just saying...
  17. Any AT boots that fit you well and can have the walk/ski latch replaced with a spring system. You might need to be creative with home made springs, though.
  18. Uniform distance between flex test points doesn't cut it either, because on snow, you press all the way to the contact points.
  19. Heavy rain. Only Easy open. Didn't ride, pm private canceled. Left at lunchtime.
  20. Light rain in the am, better in the pm. I had a nice 3hr private in the pm. 3800 169, "duck" plates.
  21. Easy, Fork to Football Field, Panorama to Windjamer, are open. Limited width in some places. Very carvable snow, though. We had to many staff, they let me go early. BXFR
  22. We are down to 2 runs... Nice combined session, skiers/borders together, in the pm. Toy: BXFR
  23. Brown is normal for us, but the hill has ridiculously low quantity of snow.
  24. Why exposed Zylon? That stuff degrades quite badly in UV.
