  1. my wife just saw the list... Dave, please add Alex, quickly!
  2. I'm going to watch my son race and to ride a few extra days anyway. It would be great to hook up with some fellow carvers.
  3. On a board or skis, get up to GS speed and "fly" into a mogul field, see how far you get.
  4. Here we are at the busiest time of the year. The "pump up" for the Nationals. It appears the site has been down 5 days now.
  5. Ask them why there is no Jr. SBX race this year...
  6. Carve out the available hrs. Ski out the slush Friends, food, wine and beer on the hill to celebrate the good life.
  7. Finally heard from the kid, here's the spin; Heat #1; Pierce won this heat beating the #4 German qualifier (who qualified 1.6 sec. faster than Pierce). Heat #2; Pierce was ½ a board length behind the American leader (the #5 qualifier) 45 sec. into the race and he fell… not provoked. Ya, he was upset.
  8. qq, I agree totally, the skidders, (boarders & wannabe skiers) are ten fold more annoying and "dangerous" Allee, I love the female expression "you pussies are whining about ..." I needed a good laugh today, I wasn't riding.
  9. Hey Guys, for a change we are still riding in the deep south! In fact we will close many hills with 100% coverage. An inevitable shame. We enjoyed great carving conditions today under the sun. I'm wondering if they (Jeff) have started building the SBX course yet?
  10. Proud Dad & Mom Pierce went to Italy as one of the Cdn. SBX team of 5 "men". We're thrilled to see he finished 12th and the top ranking Canadian. Three of his team mates were right behind at 14, 15 & 16th. Did we miss the wax? We still haven't heard from him...

  12. A trip you will remember for life. You will meet my son - Pierce on this trip. Lets hope it goes, there are "venue issues" at the moment. Thats why the delay on confirmation.
  13. 1st Football, 2nd Ski Racing 3rd Hockey 4th Water Skiing 5th Hockey 6th Soccer 7th Snow Boarding. Common denominator ....? When I snowboard and ski race now, my family never say "Good luck!" I hear, "don't hurt yourself". Not very inspirational. All on my left side. My left set of ribs has the flexibility of an 16th century stained glass church window. Along with both rotator cuff's hanging by a thread, I've trained myself to do "the move" a la torpedo, elbows and forearms tight to my chest. It works! Still enjoying all my sports. If I'm not hurting; I'm not playing enough, or I'm drinking too much!
  14. I've heard pros and cons reguarding full face cover. This subject came up at last years eastern Canada & USA TD seminar (fis for tech supervisor) Several strong negative comments, the strongest from an American Doctor with lots of (unfortunate) experience from full face helmets and neck injuries. My son who rides the sbx NorAm circuit has gone back to full face protection. I suggested a neck guard but I don't think they're very sexy... I'm particularly concerned with young riders wearing full face helmets. Comments please.
  15. Hi Craig, I'm keen! I'm juggling my time and look forward to making the 29th work.
  16. for the come back, made the Kelowna offer much sweeter!
  17. Lets make an extra effort to encourage young racers, especially the girls. I look for the good news, but a 3 second spread on the "top" 8 racers is discouraging.
  18. the Canadian's don't think so!
  19. the storm lives up to it's billing, I'll cast my vote tomorrow morning.
  20. I am a ski & snowboard racer; both great venues, however I'm very concerned about shared courses.
  21. - Sat. 27 MSLM PGS - AOS point series (you can register at the race) - all curious and or wannabe racers are welcome - Ridge Run, the course we use for NorAms - the "pro" start gates are in - per all our races, a friendly, relaxed and helpful environment - volunteers are most welcome and receive a very custom T shirt
  22. and snow rocks! As a Cdn. we fulfilled our duty of enrolling all three (2 girls) in hockey programs. With the kids at 8,11& 13 we made the family decision to drop the hockey to favour full time skiing; which quickly became skiing and snowboarding and now pretty much all snowboarding. Mom (level 2) and I (level 3 and 2 coach) must be lousy ski instructors. At 46 I crossed over to the "dark side". I love having one foot in each camp - ya, skiers suck; oh ya snowboarders suck too. For the last 11 yrs our winter social and sport life as a family has revolved around riding on snow. We have made so many lasting frienships through the snowboard programs. Our oldest daughter made it to the Nationals for BX and now lives in Whistler. Our middle daughter was Provincial GS champ, achieved a 6th place GS at a NorAm in California, 10th place SL at 2003 NorAm / Nationals in Quebec completed a 4yr kinesiology degree and is living in Whistler for a year. Our son happens to be the Cdn. under 20 BX champ - riding hard boots and GS racing was a big part of his soft boot success. He is riding the full NorAm circuit this year. Mom and I are very proud and very broke!
  23. Congrats to the old man. Shawn Palmer, 2nd - 39 yrs young Stian Sivertzen, 4th - 19 yrs old, Norwiegan wunderkid Its not even the "big brother" image. Whats next, father / son WC racers?
