  2. Brooklyn by way of North Carolina. Proud Alumni of North Carolina State University - "where the men are men, the women are scarce and the sheep are scared." i don't mis-spell "wicked" when i speak yankee. :D cheers! steve
  3. elisa, speaking as a housemate (and KKF survivor) of KenNETH's...please remember it's always much safer to be behind Ken on the slopes than in front of Ken on the slopes. big man with big board and no regard for human life. ask our housemate josh...he should be able to eat solid food soon. :D cheers! steve btw, ash...speaking as a son of the south...it's "y'all"
  4. 1998 grand prix GTP - pass-thru from trunk to back seat... 185 with bombers, 168 with cateks, pair of 183 skis and poles and room for 4 people in the car. box? we don't need no stinkin' box. cheers! stevep

    Hey Bob

...carving boards - tough to have just one. four plus a full sleeve...and closer to 40 than 30. steve
  7. gott jump in for a second - i'm 6'4", 195lbs and downright love love love my RT 168. this board took me up a level in riding. i borrowed one last season as a rockboard on the first day on the hill and never gave it back - bought the demo from vin that afternoon getting back to out of bounds. i have ridden that board in 5" of fresh powder, bumps, crowds, you name it. it's just like cranking a big skateboard - turns on a dime, snappy tail to pop you out of turns. i also ride a coiler 169AMX which i reallly like, but i miss the edge hold that the RT168 gives me. i rode an oxygen proton 185 yesterday for the first time and offered to buy that one on the spot as well...damn, so many fun boards out there to ride! get the RT...ride it, have fun. cheers! steve
  8. skis, snowboard...didn't matter - they were were billing me no matter what. 9" snow last night, 6" fresh thoughout the day...more on the way...must run - hot tub and beer calling. cheers! steve btw - new coiler 169amx...downright badass!
  9. at 6:30am on saturday morning on my way to vancouver - i was informed that my boardbag was longer than 157cm and would be subject to an $80 excess baggage fee! and me without coffee...needless to say, i almost went over the counter and took out a luggage handler. then i was informed that this fee only covers ONE WAY! $160 just to take my board with me!!!! http://www.continental.com/travel/policies/baggage/excess.asp? please make sure to call ahead or check your carrier's website prior to flying with your rig. must go - looking at 12" fresh snow tonight at whistler and just found out that my hotel room has wireless internet access!! NOW THIS IS A VACATION! cheers! steve
  10. hey simon - ping me offlist to see about hooking up on the night of the 15th - are y'all in the village or creekside again? i don't think we will fresh tracks on the 16th, but later in the week.

    GS or SL?

i have the renntiger 168 and 178, i have to say the 168 is one of the downright most fun boards you can ride - snappy, quick, able to handle everything from groomers to bumps to moderate powder (only board i had at the house during the 24" of new snow this weekend). the 178 rides like that as well, just more edge for more speed. buy the 173...you won't regret it. cheers! steve
  12. i'm hard to miss as well - 6'4", full face helmet, blue flame topsheet coiler 169AMX, grey and orange jacket...red and green chairs and then up to alpine when it opens. the 2 skiers i go with every year haven't been on snow yet this season, so i am assuming they will want to take it easy on the 16th...i may have to leave them and go play in the alpine. <g> cheers! steve
  13. hi there- i am a broken wrist without proper care survivor. broke my left wrist while riding, didn't realize it for almost 2 months (high pain threshold and low IQ)...ended up with a Ti screw in my wrist, full cast to my upper arm, bone graft to hopefully knit the bone together (took over 2 years to start healing and it's still not fully grown back), missed most of the season that year. please go and have it checked. cheers! steve
  14. anyone gonna be out and about? i'll be at the whistler delta suites and holding residence at The Boot... ping me if you wanna hook up for riding or beers. steve
  15. i picked up a pair last season and love them after 4 seasons with burton. but the internal support is a bit light-weight and really didn't inspire any confidence in me. i'm sticking with my glomming-gear wristguards (held together with faith and shoe-goo). cheers! steve
  16. hey ladia - right there with you on the mixed TD's. one of my reasons is if i am riding in powder or something like that, i can't get my front foot to click in (happened at whistler and didn't like it!) i'm up for trading a Step-In TD2 for a regular TD2 - ping me offlist. cheers! steve
  17. ...steve sits quietly...knowing the custom flex coiler 169AMX he ordered last feb is in lamination right now and should be seeing it in the next 2 weeks... :D

    newbie setup

i started out the same way - picked up a set of td's used for $100, spent the $$ on boots and learned (and broke) a $75 used burton alp 171. best way to go - you don't have to upgrade the boots or bindings and upgrading boards is half the fun. cheers! steve
  19. board looks great, the site looks great...the TD2's really look great! congrats fin and michelle! cheers! steve
