    2 OES 161cm Decks

For sale: 2 OES 161 cm, 18cm waist and an identical 161 cm with a 19cm waist. Titanal. The 18 cm waist was ridden for four runs. The 19cm waist is brand new. Both decks are stone ground, looks like a fine cross. High camber profile on both and a very damp ride. These are not the Bulat model. Side cut - 9.2 M. $599 each. May negotiate slightly, no trades.
  2. One of the things that made The Madd so successful was its dual flex pattern. Torsional twist is important, tuning it to where it works is another ball game.
  3. Robbie White Glove..are you going to get one? Just do it.
  4. Realistically, any form of physical exercise will keep the positive mental state ready for the snowboarding season. include consistent stretching with the chosen physical activity. Even with intense physical training, unless you are doing the same movements in the summer as you would on a snowboard in the winter, the body still has to acclimate to those new movements. Being is some form of physical and mental shape will lesson the recovery time from the 1st day on the snow. The other important aspect that many fail to recognize is to stay hydrated. A dehydrated muscle (very common), will fatigue very quickly and performance will rapidly decline.
  5. Glad you liked it George. The Mk is definitely quicker edge to edge if done right..almost like it isn't even there.
  6. MK is up! http://www.donek.com/product/mk/
  7. John, The graphic of the "stoned midget" was created by an 11 year old at the time. Neither JG, MC, or Banker created it.
  8. Precisely. PSR is a top notch coach. I know from experience. He coached me with racing slalom skateboards back in the late 90s and continued to coach me through the years. 1st race was the Worlds in 2001, Morrow Bay and countless races after that. I achieved plenty of awards as a result. I've beat some fast racers and been beat as well. More importantly, PSR dedicated his time and knowledge to help me and many others because that is his passion. He didn't ask for anything in return. A true coach. You could even see the sparkle of excitement in his eye when teaching.
  9. Great response Beckman. I think the question that Jack should answer: If Jack were on tele skis, would he grunt like a tennis pro? ;)
  10. "Crap I need one. Edge hold is unreal. I can't get it to chatter, I keep thinking it will, but it holds an edge when the ******* would give out on me". "There is plenty of ice to test it on. I may need to sleep with her tonight..."
  11. Good question Roro. It is the perfect balance of dampness and liveliness. I've found this balance is key. I have some great boards in my quiver--Oxess, OES and then some that cant seem to get that balance perfect. They are either too damp with a poor response or too lively which tend to chatter on ice.
  12. No decreased ability to skid at speed or going slow. Transition response is lightning quick..if you want it to be.
  13. Canuck, we may have an idea of a production schedule very soon.....and the base will be plenty fast. Also, if you are having stance width issues, certain binding disks can be rotated to achieve wider widths along with minimizing toe/heel lifts. ...unless you were referring to waist widths.
  14. No 170 has been tested. We ran an 18cm waist, no wider waists have been made or tested --the original 158 had an 18cm waist. The original madd 158 and the MK were/are cable of wide stances..20 inch plus. Will it perform in hero snow?-of course. It will also perform in powder, like any board, but would not be efficient or optimum. The speckled base is no longer available and hasn't been for awhile. The Madd 158 base was just as fast or slow as any other base out there...the beauty being it's durability and ability to be almost gouge proof and have a high resistance to base burn/oxidation.
  15. Another great rider got on the board and I sent him a message asking him how his love affair went with the MK--- "Hey Curt, so I got 4 runs on the MK before my legs gave out. I also followed **** on it through solid ice SL course, and the MK held a line in the ice while I was losing grip in my 163 10m Proteus. Given that I have had several Madds and still have 2 58's I liked that I did not need to change my riding style and the MK suited my style. The MK blows any Madds I have ridden out of the water. It has a bigger sweet spot, is not as nervous but still gives you the pop you want when loading the tail. I found the MK more forgiving to ride on firm/icy conditions. My statement about the ice is so true and **** confirmed this as well. It is honestly amazing how the MK holds an edge on ice. This is the first board I have been on where I was literally looking for ice to rail on. We had plenty of spots with glaring blue ice that I railed on. I need some more time on it to gather my thoughts around the side cut. I could only handle 4 runs before my legs were toast. I am not trying to figure out do I want one and do I sell my 163 Proteus that ****and I have. We are both in the same spot". This is the type of board that will continue to saturate your thoughts after riding it. You will blow off lunch just to get a few more runs in. One run and you wont want to give it back. Two runs and you are already figuring out financing to purchase. Three runs and heads are turning on the lift. Four runs--you are delirious with excitement. Five runs and you are grunting like a tennis pro.
  16. Corey, I have owned 5 original Madd 158s and an original 170 in addition to any reissue that was made. The originals were rode 5 days a week for years. I know the originals inside and out. The MK delivers a performance that surpasses what the original Madd 158 had offered. The MK also surpasses my $2k Oxess. It is not just another board in the quiver, it is the bomb.
  17. I believe we have come to the conclusion that the MK is ready. This board is the best carving board I have ever ridden. Massive edge hold on ice, nimble, lightning fast edge transfers, liveliness and much more user friendly than the Original Madd 158.
  18. Still available. Weight 6lbs 4oz Effective Edge 122 Sidecut radius 8.75 Nose Width (cm) 29.6 Waist Width (cm) 25.5 Tail Width (cm) 29.5 Nose Height (cm) 6.0 Tail Height (cm) 6.0 Stance Options (in) 15.5-24.5 Insert Pattern 4x4 Camber Height (mm) 10
  19. Very happy to say the end is very near. The 3rd proto delivered. Massive edge hold, nimble, agile, responsive, and quick. Temps were between 21 to 23 degrees. Surfaces skiid off, firm, and spotty NE chalk. High fun factor. Couldn't get enough of it which is what I was looking for. Still thinking about it. I ran an OES 161cm prototype as well. Board for board, there was no comparison. The OES held an great edge and the craftsmanship was elite. Yet, it was too damp. That is not to say other OES boards are the same way as many boards are built differently. The key is finding the balance with the right amount of dampness and pop. Donek is on par.
  20. 3rd Proto is ready to rock. Not sure why it is 52 degrees here today.
