  1. MS flex and stiffness has certainly been interesting for me to explore this season having switched from UPZ to MS. I have been through all 3 brands Deeluxe T700 to UPZ with medium flex tongues and custom BTS ((stiffer springs) to MS 120 WC C shell flex. For reference I am around 185lbs. I think the struggle a lot of us have is knowing around what the stiffness flex is for T700 and UPZ and trying to compare that to the MS boots. Since there is no standard for flex stiffness because of shell design and material the flex numbers don't translate exactly. Same thing with ski boots.

It took me a while to get my boots dialed in. I finally got them working after having ordered a 110 tongue from I-carve with softer blue strings. This reduced the stiffness a lot and took away the shin pain I was getting from the stiff 120 tongues.  I am curious if they are now similar in flex to a standard 100 flex boot?  I can't see who the hell would ride the 130 flex boots 🙂

  2. So very sorry! Having  planned 5 ECES events with a team over the years I know how much goes into planning an event and the stress that comes with it. My heart goes out to Dave and Kristen. Weather is the biggest stress leading up to the event that you have no control over.@dredmanhand in there buddy we all love ya!  Burnout is a big concern for events like this, enhance why there is no more ECES on the East Coast.

  3. I don’t recommend them on a Contra, they go against Bruce’s design of the Contra, and his point about stiffening up the board under foot is true, I experienced that . I tried them last season on my Contra and didn’t like it. However they work great on my F2 WC SL. Contra’s don’t need anything fancy, slap some bindings on it,  lean over and let the board do all the work.
