  1. How about you guys that were lucky enough to go, pick 2 or 3 of the favorite demo boards and let us know why. Maybe a hard condition board, soft condition board and an off-piste carver. Glad you guys had fun.
  2. Raichle 123's. Pretty much same characteristics. 3 Buckle boot, forgiving, and I think a little better made. What size?
  3. Just ran across this. Has most all the Burton Boards that have been produced by year, model, and size. Pictures of Top Sheet and base. Pretty cool to be able to call up anything and see a picture of it. http://burton.emptybottleworks.com/
  4. Ski's are now being touted as reverse camber. This is simply reverse asym. This allows for quicker heelside initiation and more balanced toeside layout.
  5. Base goes to the end of the pads on my fingertips underneath the file and the side bevel is 2. I'm almost always in the air or on edge, so I don't usually worry about riding flat.
  6. Carverchick what do you think of that? Let's not insult our female bretheren with comparing them to a whining sack o chit.
  7. These are thermoflex liners that have only been molded at the factory. They were not molded to fit my foot, they fit just fine the way they were. The factory molds the boot to a model of the average foot. These are the thinnest thermoflex liners, so they would be best suited to someone who is getting to the time where the shells are getting a little too small. These do not have enough volume to fill my new boots. Also notice the material above the ankles. If you have a skinny calf or too much room between you calf and the shell (especially if you're on the last notch on you straps) they probably won't work. These liners have an achilles filler, so you don't have heel slip. These liners are not the wrap type, they have a tongue, and I've shown the left one with the tongue in and the right one with the tongue out. With all this in mind, the liners are "like new", but have been used a couple of times, but never molded aside from the factory. $90 shipped.
  8. Truly sorry. Hopefully it will heal quickly. It's nice to see a community that is willing to help each other out. You guys are to be commended. Fischer/Bumpy
  9. Literal translation: Scrub brush protruding above fresh snow with branches below that lie in wait for a stealth attack upon the unsuspecting off-piste adventurer.
  10. Sorry, all of those have been sold. I'll check with my son to see if he has any though. I do have the step-in race plates though.
  11. Rice it. Rest (Depends on how sore) Ice (Brrrr) Compression (ace bandage) Elevation (over your heart). When I'm running trails, I usually manage to twist my ankles on a irregular basis. If I stop it swells more and hobbles me up for a week. If I run it out it swells a bit and doesn't bother me. Hey, we'll be up at Whistler starting Monday the 25th for a week. Let me know if that coincides with when you'll be there.
  12. When installing Intec heels, use a blow dryer to soften up the plastic sole in the boot a bit before putting in the T-nuts. Then as somebody said use and extension drive from a ratchet set to start and set. I use a slide hammer (specialty carpenters tool for mine). You never know how valuable a set on Intec bindings are until you break a rib in the middle of a steep bump run. I'll never go back to anything else, just way to much fun especially if you install an extension so you don't have to even reach down to release. You can do it flat on your back when you can't even breathe. Another note. When you're up to your buttocks in alligators off-piste where it's so steep you don't dare bend over-the Intecs are literally a life saver.
  13. It looks like it's going to be a bit longer before it's great, but it's getting good. Much better today than yesterday and no problems with a big cough, am on the Rollo Board, and pretty much bouncing around without landing hard. 12 Days till a week in Whistler, which reminds me to call Jon Dahl.
  14. These are solid and in good condtion. Soles and liners are good. I would have to say that these are a size 10. 10 1/2 would be snug. I wear a 9 to 9 1/2 shoe and they are too big. I'm otherwise wearing Raichle mondo 26.5 with thermo liners.
  15. Here's a couple of full length pictures. The bindings are Proflex Intecs, that work with the new heels. Bindings are in excellent condition. Price of F2 Speedster 168 and Proflex Intecs would be $350 + shipping. Please don't ask if bindings alone are for sale. They will only be for sale if board does not sell. Thanks
  16. I'm over any pain when doing just about anything, I only feel it when I put pressure on it, and it's just a little bothersome when I inhale fully, and then just for a minute. I might have thought about going to see someone earlier, but I'm quite on the mend. Note to all those reading. Do not break a rib,eat a really big meal, climb into a 4 wheel drive Toyota and sit while driving down a bumpy road. Also don't expect to shift a stick without needing windshield wipers for your eyes. Funniest story I've heard to date: Friend was ice skating on a lake with his 2 boys. There was a small rock sticking out of the lake, and he told his boys to "Watch me jump this". He proceeded to skate in ever widening circles to get his speed up when all of a sudden a lead opened up. He skated full speed into the water and caught the edge of the ice square in the ribs. He was kneeling in the freezing water unable to move or breathe with his kids yelling "Dad are you alright?"
  17. Maybe water and Bananas. Keep hydrated, all your joints depend on lubrication. Lack of potasium will cause some aches. Also check on your diet in general. Google Potasium.
  18. All bindings are either sold, spoken for, or I will relist when the bugs are worked out. Thanks. Bumpy
  19. This board has about 40 to 50 hours on it. There isn't a scratch on it. I used this board strictly in Duluth. I can get a guy set up in bindings also, plates, intecs and heels, or step-in Burtons. See my binding post which will be coming in a bit.
  20. Jon, That sounds like an idea. We won't be grooming at all. Whistler is the off-piste playground, and we'll be staying at Creekside. Let's stay in touch, and contact me off thread and I'll give you a call or give my phone.
  21. Any of you old farts have experience on healing times for broken ribs? Broke #8 rib 4 weeks ago. The rib was x-rayed and showed an off-set break with some shards floating around. Right now it's progressed to be pretty OK, but is very noticeable when inhaling deeply. Haven't started running or boarding yet, cause I don't want to snap it. I've got a week of boarding in Whistler starting on the 24th of Feb, 2 weeks from now, which would be 6 weeks from the injury date. What's your experience with healing times. I know that it varies, but some info would be appreciated. I'm pushing 60 (Oh damn), in very good shape, both aerobically, and physically. The last time I broke a rib was when I was about 40, and then I think it was just a fracture, and as I recall it didn't take anywhere near this long. Old jokes will be tolerated, but you will be expected to back it up when I heal, especially those in the Pacific Northwest. PS. Intec bindings with long enough leads to not bend over when releasing are invaluable with broken ribs.
  22. The 3d maps that kmartshopper just showed have percentage of slope and the degree's on the guage at the left of the picture. At least on the Jackson Hole map. 100% = 45 degrees. http://3dskimaps.com/
  23. When installing the discs is a bear to get the plate to set flush to the board. Work it hard and once you get one screw started it will start to sink into the binding, and those short screws are just fine. I have several F2's and they all work that way. Also try wetting the plate, and if that doesn't work try dish soap.
