  2. shaggy helped me set my new MADD up at stratton in early jan. i'm not as accomplished as some of you folks here but between him and kurt? (dont know) they hooked me up w/some pointers. cant beat having the guy that built and tuned yer board tell you how to set it up!! i'm a lowland guy and going to a semi-real mtn 4 my first ride of the year was different. having some cool people 2 ride with was also cool. (kurt?),willy-whit, dude from jersey, dude from u-conn(w/dog)...i dont get that at home. stuck here bcuz of career. do what i can, have fun. hope to see some carvers soon.-later-chris PS-I LOVE MY MADD (THE MIC-TRENCHER)
  3. i had 2 put sumpin cuz i finnnaly am classified as member instead of jr member-yeeeeayyy
  4. im jealous you bastards!! you guys all look like shred. chris
  5. factory primes are def more race have a 167 (blue top w/green bottom) it just wants to go down hill FAST. cant really carve it. buddy has a 165? ultra prime much softer/wider waist easier to carve and better on crud. if yer set on aburton go w/ the up. better yet get a madd or coiler :). littele more $$$$ out of pocket though. good luck-chris
  6. hey all. i think im gonna try to set myself up for feb8-11. try for two days in that span. my girl works at a holiday inn here in b-lo so maybe ican get a discount at that hol. inn xpress. i'll try to get shred (who kinpa was wit in mont./hes a 1 man demo tent) but i know he works weekdays so weel see. i'll keep yas posted later-chris
  7. reliable racing is having an online sale thru feb1st i believe. u could easily get the essentials for under a c-note.
  8. nice, never been to pknpk. lookin forward to ridin with someone other than my skier buddies and my once in a while carvin partner(wit no job??) just give me some lead time i got a weird schedule(b-lo fireman) even if its just a day trip- later chris ps 11" natty + manmade in e-ville! yeehah! pps if my superbowl pools play out maybe i'll buy pknpk!
  9. lake erie trenchin convention whaddya think? early feb would be perfect for holiday valley or holimont(private but open to public on weekdays) best bet (read cheapest) would be to get a minimum of 6 people together and get a condo with tix included cuz ellicotville is EXPENSIVE. theres no dive motels availible. i would also be willing to go to peeknpeek if someone could get me prices on a place tio stay (~2hr drive from b-lo) also going to holiday or holimont this mon morn if anybody interested: underdog@buffalo.com later chris
  10. i have an archos(?) Gmini 20gb player. it has slots for flash media can store photos, data etc. can be used basically as an external hard drive. does req. i cable interface and software upgrade for radio reception. you can also get an upgrade to connect directly to your home stereo for direct recording (at normal speed, but if you have tapes or vinyl to archive and transfer) its pure drag and drop, open 2 windows and move simple! i'm really interested in this upgrade for bootlegging purposes; dont know if it would work but.....it also comes in a 40gb size. not as small as an ipod but doesnt bother me on the slopes or treadmill.:) overall pretty happy with it.-chris
  11. i used to get shin pain also. @ the eces last year they had a set up clinic and i took some great things away from. mostly heel or toe lift and lean and angles. i was so set in my stance, angles etc that i didnt want to change- but tried it (cuz these folks really knew their stuff) lo and behold!! no pain. i was like, you anren't supposed to have pain when boarding? i thought it went with the territory. personnally, toe lift in front and heel lift with a slight cant in rear made a world of difference. btw. what was that guys name from the eces? (the guy with roboboot?) -chris
  12. trying to get there hopefully 2 of us from b-lo (we went to eces for 1st time last year) i was just wondering if we get something from a hotel or condo that includes lift tix is that ok or do we have to get a package from bomber? i know we would at least have to pay for the banquet and demo tent. ps. i know this is a month after thier post but, toronto people: buffalo to denver is around 250.00 (last time i checked) and with the exchange being more favorable to you guys right know, it might be worth the 1hr drive and customs at the bridges here rather than at the airport? just my .02. oh yeah- we would be flying into denver also so if anybody thinking of catching a ride or splitting (whatever) we are looking at mon or tues till sat or sun. later-chris
  13. i checked that "plans now" site and now im gonna have to drop some greenbacks to get like 40 of those plans! really cool site though thanx for the linkage! -chris ps. i needed that $ for beer and my madd. :)
  14. hey shred- me and bflo bob may go. email me we'll discuss specifics.----chris and jack- last year was my first eces and it was top notch-way above what i was expecting. hope something comes together.
  15. thanx for the tips everybody. the old thread was helpfull (sorry i didn't check back that far :) ) i do mostly endurance stuff- i play ice hockey and bike as well- but it just seems like every time i get on a big hill-ie:anything more than my home mtns 750vert- i go to jelly after about 8-10 hrs riding (not all at once-that's usually 2days) all i know is i cant ride or play golf cuz in bflo weve had like 16 days straight of rain. ps. i'm 240lbs- those sissy squats make me feel like a sissy-aptly named! :) later chris
  16. anybody do weight training over summer? (or year 'round) looking for any snowboard specific stuff other than squats-squats-and more squats.:) later-chris
  17. hey guys checked back on some old threads and was wondering if the video was done (for sale etc.?) i know i didn't make the cut but i need to show it to a couple of people cuz they didn't believe me how much i was raving about it. :) thanks - chris
  18. coming from a city known as the snow capital of the us (bcuz of one measley storm in the 70's\ & and maybe those 2 days in 2001 when we got 7 feet) it still amazes me that people don't snowboard or ski. i started skiing in the eighties to alleviate boredom between hockey games during the winter(i hadn't discovered drinking yet). i think snowboardings boom came in the past 3-5 years when every little grommet wanted one(and mommy usually boght it) i also think it will come to a grinding halt soon, alot of people of all ages try it and just give up. "it's too hard, too cold etc..." but the thing that got those people out there to begin with was the media coverage-xgames, olympics etc. my problem with the media is every kid with 500$ (or parents with 500) wants to jump on a board and do 1080's without learning how to 'ride'. that's where we come in boys and girls. take the time to teach someone on a lunchtray how to turn-not even carve-but turn......it will make the slopes a more hospitable place for every one. what a round-about way to make a point. chris
  19. fall\winter: dark beer (sam' winter/ or brooklin black choc. stout) spring/summer: lighter fare and gin year 'round: captain and ginger, myers and tonic, molsin canadian(served at most dives) capn 'n red bull favorite shot: chilled jager, chilled baileys close second i'll also pretty much drink nail polish remover:) chris
  20. well, summer in buffalo lasts 2 months so here's my suggestions: mtn bike-drink-golf-drink-drink-pass out. occasionally find time for work. if you repeat the above enough times the entire summer will be a blur and when you wake up you can go snowboarding:) did i mention drinking?? chris
  21. sorta like the cobra 3000 anti-theft device in robocop? x-cept it simultaneously releases their bindings......shred-get to work on the tech specs for that! chris
  22. does this mean i can fire up a butt on this thing?:)sweet-one less thing in my pocket to perforate me. ps hey shred-you're spoda be midwestern-quit bein all smart :) ya gotta dumb it down for us civil servants. fireboy chris
  23. hey give it a shot and let us know. that zardoz is some great stuff when its wet. i figure you're not really getting base protection with it so why not try something else? they both repel water.....i'd try it mark but my season is kaput,:(, so you'll have to be the guinea pig. chris
  24. put down the cash yesterday. love payin fer stuff i can't use for 8 more months :)
  25. hey jim were goin night skiing at holiday tonite. call my cell 536-1060 if any interest. leaving 6:00-ish. didn't miss much yesterday-too much powder!!! never thought id say that-but you know these hills too much fluff and they turn to velcro. hope to hear from ya theres gonna bethree of us (4 if you go) later-chris
