  1. Just had to post this pic' of me and the boy from the end of last season. I'm looking forward to getting out with him this year and really getting some "good days" in. My youngest daughter has now expressed an interest in learning to snowboard, so maybe by next season this photo will have another addition! I can't think of a better way to spend quality time with my family. Have fun everybody, enjoy it with someone you love :D Paul
  2. The only reason he was alone was 'cause I can't get outta work yet! I'm thinking about going tomorrow, it just depends on the weather. The runs he's taking pictures on are sweet little greenies that are a blast on days like those when no one else is around. Damn Bill your killing me! How do you like your Prior? I'm really hoping to get up there soon, I'll have the kids with me but we can still get some runs in together. The boy can go down the Marmot runs, we'll just make 2 to his 1! :D Pray for sunshine! Paul
  3. I hate hearing about all this good riding of your's while I'm stuck at work, but hey, somebody's gotta do it right? I can step out the back door of my store and see Shasta from my parking lot. It's been a real test of will staying at work the last couple of days knowing your tearing it up on the mountain. I'll get up as soon as I can, hopefully next week some time after my Grand Opening. Make a run for me! :D Paul
  4. $50.00 plus $20.00 shipping and handling Mike, here's a picture Thanks, Paul

    Need FP 135

we may have to ask the collective brain trust here about that. My 9 year old son currently rides a FP135, but is going to try one of the 149's I bought this season. We haven't had a chance to get out yet, so I can't say from experience what it will be like. I think it will depend on how much your little guy weighs and how aggressive he'll ride? Anybody help us out with this? Thanks, Paul
  6. I've got some 149's for sale brand new, Thanks, Paul

    Need FP 135

I've got 3 149cm Protons and one KR 149cm. They're all new, just worn a bit from being moved around the shop for years. $50.00 plus shipping will put one in your quiver, Let me know, Paul
  8. how far bikes have come. That's a sweet ride dude, wish I was more into it, I'd love to have another reason to spend money on toys! Have fun, Paul
  9. I've ridden with Bill and he can definitely carve! We hooked up for some runs last season and I did some of the best riding of my season on that day. He was on his Swoard and was carving beautiful lines all the way down the run. I thought I was doing pretty well for my age, but after trying to follow him, I figured I'd better step up my game, then only to find out he was 17 years my senior! Don't take offense at the last statement Bill, you've inspired me to keep going on days when I too wanted to chuck my gear in the car and go back home with my tail between my legs. I just remember that day we rode together and tell myself I've got alot of good years ahead of me to sharpen my riding skills. If I didn't tell you before I'll tell you now, thanks for taking the time to stop and give me some pointers and let me ride with you, you gave me alot of "good days". See you on the mountain! Paul
  10. I just got my AF's last season and have been riding in them as is, but would like to learn more about the canting mechanisms too....anybody? Fin, Jack, Baka.... Thanks, Paul
  11. about 1 hour south of Mt. Shasta. It's been snowing this last week and I'm hoping to get up there Sunday. Randy thanks for the offer, I'm hoping to get down your way sometime this season, I'll let you know and maybe we can get together and make some runs. Where do you board? Thanks, Paul
  12. Your the man! My son was pretty ticked when I stole a T-handle off his boot so I could go a couple of weeks ago. The weather just got good again so we're planning on going soon. I sent an e-mail as you suggested, Thanks again, Paul
  13. Anybody know of a source for T handles? I broke one last season and need a couple for replacements. The Bomber store says they're all sold out.....:( Thanks, Paul
  14. I've got an '04 Silberpfiel and put a Conshox on it I bought from CJ4 here on Bomber and I love it! I think it made a great board even better, it took my carving to the next level. IMHO the F2 is one of if not the best board I've ridden yet. (previous boards include Sims Burner's 162 & 178, Rossi Accelorator 171, WD World cup 158) Give it a try before you dismiss it alltogether, Good carving, Paul
  15. That I'm going to be selling soon. They're all new/unused, but several model years old. I've got 3 Proton's and 1 KR model. The base and edges are in excellent condition and the topsheets range from o.k. to great. $50.00 a piece plus $20.00 shipping will put one in your quiver..... Thanks, Paul
  16. Being a drug store manager and a registered pharmacy tech, I'll echo the comments on the subject of vicodin. Use this sparingly if at all as an alternative to ibuprofen or other anti-inflammatory's. Repeated use of this drug can have adverse side effects and can also lead to further injury due to the deadening of the pain to your problem area causing you to "ride through" a possible injury. If your pain persist's for more than 3 days, use should switch from ibuprofen to tylenol or a like product (acetaminophen) due to the adverse effects constant use of ibuprofen can have on your system. As with anything you take it's always a good idea to consult your local Pharmacist so they can explain the effects all these drugs have on your system, both good and bad. Bring on the snow! Paul
  17. "Surfin' with the alien" had to be made for carving, just listen to the background tracks....sounds like a carver slicin' through the corduroy to me!!! "Flyin in a blue dream" is my warm-up song as I ride the lift up for the first run of the day. We need someone to put together a kick-ass carving film with a really good sound track.....any budding producers out there? Still waitin' on snow :( Paul
  18. Which one do you prefer and why? I currently ride with AF700's, but am thinking about picking up some new boots.....even though I should just be happy with what I've got.....always tinkering :D Thanks, Paul
  19. It's Paul from Redding, we met last year at Shasta......been looking for you ever since, Paul
  20. My son started snowboarding at the age of 6. He had been skiing since 3, but wanted to try boarding from about age 5 on. He started out on a freeride board, but made the switch to an Alpine set-up midway between his second season. This will be his second season on his Alpine gear and he's doing great. I started him out on a used Rossi Accellorator 136cm with Burton carrier bindings and a pair of his sisters old ski boots. This worked fine to get him use to the "hard boot" style of boarding. He now has a new Burton FP 135cm with F2 step-ins and Raichle 225's. He can turn both ways and actually laid some tiny little arcs in the snow this last season. IMHO you should try what ever you feel comfortable with. You know your childs abilities/limits and are the best judge at this point as to what they can/can't handle. I'm very proud of Zach and you can't slap the smile off of my face as I watch him gliding down the slopes cutting back and forth on his Alpine rig:D He was also a "straight down" type freeboarder with no fear what so ever. This was another reason I got him on an Alpine set-up as soon as I could. Either way be patient and remember how little they really are, Good luck, Paul
  21. That was cool!!! I love puzzles, and have done all kinds of "brain teasers" but this thing was the best I've ever experienced! He should have one for us hardboots were you get to find a new board at the end! Have fun! Paul
  22. Great pictures guys, good to see someone else passing on the carve. I'll try to get some new pictures of my boy up after this weekend. He's on a new rig this year, Burton FP135 with F2 step-ins and real carving boots (Raichle 225's from Bomber) He's not quite carving yet, but catches a heelside carve every now and then. Just the fact that he can ride the set-up down the green circles and link turns is good enough for me right now. I figure if he keeps it up by the time he's 13-14 he'll be a holy terror:D Start 'em young I say! Good carving, Paul
  23. if you ad it all up I spent over $2500.00 just this season alone. At least $1000-1500.00 was spent on myself and/or my son. Our personal gear includes (bought this season) 3 new boards, 4 sets of bindings, 2 sets of boots, Intec kits, boot bags, board bags and various other odds and ends. I was also looking at purchasing a custom board, but have changed my mind for the time being. I usually get at least one new board a year, but kinda went off the deep end this season. I feel good that I also provided 10 other people with either new/used boards, boots & bindings this season as well. I was lucky enough to make money on my sales this season which supported my "alpine buying explosion". I'll spend this off season finding new sources of merchandise and hope to be able to provide good deals for those in the alpine community next season too. This sport isn't dead by a long shot, and I'm hoping to contribute to it's betterment and advancement while having the time of my life!:D Good carving, Paul
  24. Unless Ben is willing to give up the split tail pictured, your outta luck on getting Bruce to make one for you. I enquired about having him produce one for me after seeing a comment here on Bomber in another thread about a Coiler "split tail" and was basically told that he wouldn't do it unless I was willing to "make it worth his while". I was kind of put off by his initial response to my request, and even though he made attempts to explain his reason for not wanting to do one for me in subsequent e-mails, I had already decided to take my business elsewhere. I'll probably regret not owning a Coiler, but he made me feel bad about even asking him to consider building one, as if he "would do it, but wouldn't like it" and only if I was willing to pay heavily for it. Even though, I still turned a friend of mine onto his website and he's ordered a new board for next season. Guess I'll just have to ride my 178 Burner and wonder what it would have been like......:( Paul
  25. I have 2 pairs of F2's with Intec's and the thing that seemed to make sense to me was the simplicity of the Intec set-up over the FAST. Unless the heel on a boot set-up for FAST bindings was made out of metal, it seemed less durable as well (slop that would occur over time/usage). The FAST system seemed bulky looking too, and as mentioned above the availability of parts was a concern. Dan Yoja's a good guy, but in the end the product I chose was the one that seemed easier to maintain......FWIW, Good carving, Paul
