  1. I'm not a pro (nor a really good rider), but I managed to do it a couple of times, and my board is a Nitro GTX 166 (agressive freecarve). I also was thrown enough not to be able to get in another carve because I loaded up the board too much. And also, I don't get as low as these guys, so I don't know if that counts.:( Derf
  2. I like like my Burtons with a spring AND 3 lean settings. I think Head and DSM also have this, not shure about UPS though. Derf
  3. Popups? What popups? Try a popup blocker, like Free Surfer, or an alternate web browser, like Mozilla.;) Derf
  4. I'm not the one who know the most about step-ins, but there is the Performance Step-In on klugriding.com. It bas an aluminium base plate underneath the plastic, and it works with ski boots. I use regular Performance plate on my board and I am satisfied with them. Derf
  5. Mont Ste-Anne is more 45 minutes than 30 minutes from Québec city (depending on traffic and conditions). It's pretty much the mountain where you'll find the most carvers in the province. Québec is 2h30 minutes from Montréal. Tremblant is 2h to 2h30 from Montreal (I never remember). If you're going to Ste-Anne, a day at Le Massif is a must. The place to go for carving equipment is Ski Bazar André Bouchard 10950 Bd Ste Anne Beaupré, Quebec G0A 1E0 Tel: (418)827-2148 Email: ski.bazar.andrebouchard@qc.aira.com They have ScottUSA boards, Raichle bindings and Deeluxe boots. They also have some used euipment. And from what I heard, are very good bootfitters. But I don't know about renting. If your passing by Montreal, stop at Sharks in Laval, it's another shop that actively support carving. http://www.sharksco.com/ That's pretty much it. Derf
  6. Tremblant is very highly overrated in my opinion, it's overdevelopped, very artificial. Add to this lots of people and long lines. And mountainwise, I don't like the layout, lots of flats where you have to skate. For carving, I'd recommend Ste-Anne, a little further, but much nicer. And even better is Le Massif, but now where pretty far from where you are. Derf
  7. I have to disaggree on that, not all gloves wear out with hand dragging. I've had my Ride mitts for ten years, dragged them plenty on snow, ice and trees, carried my board by the edge with it, still nothing wears it out. That's because they're made out of Kevlar (palm, fingertips and thumb). Derf
  8. Don't forget, most of the people here are talking about carving boards, not freestyle boards. And especially here, people like long boards. Derf
  9. Mozilla Firebird + Tabbrowser extensions blows anything out of the water. Derf
  10. I like my tabbed browsing with Mozilla, so Reload does the job for me. Derf
  11. To expensive to carve in the US or out West, so I carve in the province of Quebec!:D
  12. Local stores. We still have some stores that carry new and old stuff here in the province of Québec.:D

    where are you

East coast, Ice coast, whatever it is called. Derf
  14. 26 and still counting. Will be 27 in January. Derf
  15. I also use Mozilla. What I did for the attachments was change the "%5C" in the url to a "/". Derf
  16. I ride a 166. My previous board was a 155, and was way to short for me. 166 seems to be a good sweet spot for me. Derf
  17. I think the member type is in relation with the number of posts. Derf BTW, great new site Fin & Michelle
  18. Right handed, right foot in front. So it's normal to be goofy!:p Derf
  19. I guess the good person to answer this would be Nils. Frow what I know, this is a good price for this board, and I think it's a good one, but, like I said, Nils is the person who would know. Derf
