  1. Hey guys-Is Nastar running yet at the Schwizz?
  2. The best way to do Vail or any of their other properties is the Epic pass.I'm seriously considering that option for a planned visit to see lots of good friends for a couple of different weeks next season.Should have done it this season, but the snow up here is too good to leave;-)
  3. Haha,I watched it while setting mine up yesterday, and thought it was some weird google translation thing at first.Funny as hell.
  4. Two of my best ever buds are talking about coming up from Texas for NICE.I'll update once they nail down flights.I hope Sandpoint is ready for them...
  5. I changed the original title of the thread so we can post Silver updates throughout the season.Silver's off to an incredible start with Opening Day today(Dec7).Later than we faithful had hoped of course, but today was a bonified powder day! So good in fact, that it made up for the late start all in one storm! Yeeehawww!
  6. Even though it has the fewest views, this is my favorite of the four.We had such a fun time despite the low visibilty and had a great vibe going all that last day. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/T4kkPoGUVXI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  7. Part 3,in which there is a spec of something stuck on the lense of one of the cameras used to take photos.None of us claimed to be professional so please just enjoy the subjects and story, lol. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Aucu2lYWBmI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  8. Here's part two. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/nyWdudWILXw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  9. It's only a bit more than a month until N.I.C.E.2013 so I thought I should put these back up toshow what a great little event that Russ,Mark,Troy and the rest of the NICE people put on.This season's edition is January 14-20. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/e9RyqPHP-H0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  10. I'm going to do a little racing this season and need to aquire body armor and leg protection.I have a variety of older carving boards in very good to excellent condition I am willing to trade for the right stuff.Examples;185 Oxygen Proton(blue/silver model) in excellent condition,166 Nitro in good condition,160 Nitro in very good condition,Rossi A153 in excellent condition,Rossi Race 156 in very good to excellent condition. I'm as average sized as they come-always medium with clothing etc.
  11. 2nd in line if zenyogi4 doesn't want them.
  12. Especially since Lookout opened on a Sunday,I had plenty of room for carving 'til people got out of church. The mountain crew did their usual excellent work of preparing the slopes with very limited snow.Only the bottom 50 yards was very sketchy.A great day!
  13. Great video.Liked and subscribed on youtube.Looking forward to seeing what your team can do!
  14. Just got back from a 10 day trip to Toronto(relatives) and New York City(head office of wife's employer) and rediscovered stair climbing. The New York hotel we stayed in had 23 floors and I came home limping from the 'good'soreness in my quads after a few workouts that included climbing stairs at two to three steps per stride for strength and power development and descending quickly at one step per stride for leg speed. This used to be one of my favorite cross-training workouts for velodrome racing.Healthclub Stairmasters are excruciatingly boring and do not provide nearly the core strength benefits of actually climbing stairs or bleachers.Stairs with a steeper the pitch are even better for developing range of motion and strength in addition to the obvious cardio benefits that can transfer well to heavy duty carving. That and 'pool running' in a swimming pool, which is not only theraputic but can be very effective for low impact strength, cardio and increasing range of motion, are two of my favorite ways to stay in shape for all the high impact fun my boys and I are into. Disclaimer- Descending stairs and particularly, bleachers, can be very dangerous.Common sense dictates using stairs with hand rails, and avoiding quick descents on bleachers;or just avoiding decents on bleachers and walking down some stairs before the next ascent of the bleachers, which is what I used to do on stadium bleachers. Oops;had to go and forgot to mention the other three in my top five; #3 Built a backyard bmx track and I ride it as much as my kids do;#4 I jump on our trampoline as much as my kids do;#5 Ride a fixed gear bike or 'direct drive' indoor spin bike regularly. The trampoline, bmx track, and pool-running have been 'revolutionary' for me the last couple of years. The other two have been part of my lifestyle for many years.Another one has been cyclocross racing, which,as a fall season sport is perfectly timed for snowboard conditioning, though I don't get to do it as much I would like.
  15. I mentioned on my fb page that his was the first brand I sold in my little shop back in '85.What I didn't say is that the order I made for Sims boards came on time and sold out quickly;the order I made for the main competitor(guess who),after being guarateed a 1 mile radius of exclusivity, came 4 months late and was already being sold at a bigger shop that pulled the rug out from under me just a few blocks away. In this era of adversarial relationships between the different factions of snowboarding,no one in my memory represented the purity of snowboarding more while at the same time influencing surf style, race style, and freestyle.Pure...Juice Ride In Peace,Tom Sims
  16. Family stuff gobbled up the weekend;not that the NICE crew aren't like family,but...Maybe we can shoot for a fall get together? Lookin forward to groomer-gouging with everybody.
  17. I basically get to wakeboard once or twice a season;watching Mark and John water ski looks way more like what we like to do in winter.I'll have to try that next time:-)
  18. Here's a vid I made of Depot Day in Wallace this spring.I'm a Mopar fan myself.It was a good show this year! <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/cpqwR84iIdY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  19. Hey Bryan.I've been out and about all weekend, but I am game for whatever the Sandpoint guys want to do.So I can drive up to Sandpoint if everyone wants to meet up there.Otherwise Coeur d' Alene is fine too.I know Mark Miller would like to join in but I don't know if he'll be able to go to sandpoint.Maybe a couple of early evening beers in CDA to finish the day?It was beautiful at the lakefront this evening.208-682 five three seven one.
  20. I got a hall pass to come up to Sandpoint on Monday as I'll be in Spokane on Sunday and staying overnight in Post Falls. It would be cool for the NICE crew to get together with you, Bryan. I'll plan to be up there or in Coeur d'Alene.Whatever works best for everybody..Meeting up with carving brothers and sisters is always a great excuse for beer and food:-)
  21. There are quite few bomberites up here.Maybe a few of us could meet you in CDA or Sandpoint for some food and beer?
  22. second part as my avatar quote? Except that there is Curling in winter, and it looks like anyone can give it a hurl, er whirl;and anyone can run fast for a short distance-just depends what the motivation is,a cheeseburger perhaps;-)
  23. Awhile back I did a fair amount of research for a couple of cycling/fitness related ideas and was amazed at what had already been invented.I've always thought however, that the biggest roadblock to my receiving a patent would be my own administrative laziness. It's difficult to stay focused long enough to see it through, let alone do a complete search on my own.As a fledgling artist long ago,I found it much more fun to do the art than try to sell it;same with developing or improving upon ideas.
  24. As the father of two great little snow sliders myself,I'd like to wish the other Bomber dads a Happy Father's Day.
