  1. Just watched #4 all the way through.Great riding overall and smooth footage! It's usually hard to sit through that long a video, but I enjoyed watching this one. Thanks for making the video and making those of us not in attendance even more jealous, John !
  2. I suppose it depends on one's access to either activity, but Longboards make an activity that is nearly as good as the 'other thing' even better ;-) (Disclaimer;I've got two kids and been married over 20 years)
  3. That info sounds about right. Now,I'm starting to want to keep it again ;-) Curious to see how it would ride with a Boiler Plate! Still for sale though.
  4. Based on Trent's shot of Riceball,I vote Riceball to win Carvefactor ;-)
  5. Sold and ready to ship to 'teach'. @teach,I couldn't make it to the p.o. before 5:00 today but the kit will go out tomorrow via priority mail. You'll likely have it Monday or Tuesday.
  6. Thanks Russ! Ironically, the last comment on that thread could hurt my chances of selling it...'definitely a board that must be tried before buying'.I respectfully disagree as it is easier to ride than many shorter boards I have tried.Besides,if someone is seriously interested in a long, high performance board, they should either be prepared to adapt to the board or pony up the 1o00.00 or more it would take to have a new custom built :-)
  7. Here is a TD3 2nd board kit with 3 degree cants and Blue e-rings.I bought this kit from another member but never used it as it turns out that my small boot size(25.5) makes it so that I have to remove a toe or heel block to access one of the base plate bolts when removing to change boards-so the convenience factor of having the 2nd kit is not there for me. I believe these were not used by the previous owner much as is evidenced by their appearance. The price of 80.00 includes shipping/insurance and paypal fees to the lower 48 states. First person to paypal 80.00 to stevepro65 at gmail.com gets them :-)
  8. I am tearfully selling the 195 Coiler that I bought from Mike T about 3 or 4 seasons ago.I do not remember all the specifics of this board's construction and tried to look up the related threads but there is a four or five year gap in the archived threads here on bomber(could find nothing between 2007 and 2012)Perhaps Mike T will be able to provide more specific info, but I believe this board had 'Superboard' construction (rubber dampening, etc ?) My own measurement shows the waist width to be 19.1 cm across the narrowest point of the base/edges. This board rides surprisingly easy for such a monster;in fact it would be a great board for someone looking to get their first truly long ride to experience what those of us who favor the long boards are hooked on.I weigh 155 lbs and, while I do ride aggressively,I found getting around on this board to be a breeze for such a big board. The sidecut does feel in the range of about 16 meters but I am not positive.I really liked how it rode on steeper runs as I could bend it into a turn without a struggle. With this board's combination of smoothness, stability and rediculously fast ride,I can't imagine anyone being disappointed. The topsheet is a 9 out of 10 with only two very small chips that are pictured. There are a couple of light marks that are not scratches, that don't show on camera and,of corse the light evidence of binding marks. The base is also 9 out of 10 with zero gouges or scratches. The edges are also 9 out of 10 as they are nearly pristine and have no noticable flaws.I am not positive but it appears that they are at about .5 degree base and 2 degree side.I never filed them and never had the board ground. I think Mike T had put only a few days on the board, and I only put a few half days on it myself;probably has a total of about 10 days of use. I am not in a hurry to sell this board;I just have other priorities at the moment. The price is firm and it will be expensive to ship.I will spend an hour or more packing it very well for shipping and it will be insured.Shipping, paypal fees, and insurance are included in the price of 475.00 If you happen to be in the region I live in and would want to buy it in person I would take 375.00 cash. Edit-Trade Option-Beside the fact that I have two other longboards I ride all the time,my boys(7 and 9 years old) and I are getting into archery and have joined the local Archery club.So I am open to trades for good quality archery equipment.Examples of what I would consider for full trade, or part plus $,are; Genesis,or similar youth compound bows(low draw lbs/no letoff type)-we need one left hand and one right hand),or an adult right hand compound bow with a draw range of 50-60 lbs(would trade straight across for a bow with an original retail of 500-650 depending on condition/age.I know it's a stretch, but I thought I'd put that option on the table since that's what I'm raising $ for.
  9. Here in North Idaho we have had the best snow of the season late the last few years. Our base is solid and we are still getting snow right now.Schweitzer is usually great and at Silver Mountain, where I live March is my favorite time of year. The easily accessible and cheap to fly into Spokane airport is only 1hr 10 min from Silver and about 2hr from Schweitzer.Silver has hired back the best head groomer we ever had too!
  10. @DiveBomber, I'm wearing Atomic B-80 ski boots in the vid. I really like them as they fit my foot shape very well,(and I got them very cheap).I now have Technica Air-90 boots I like even more.
  11. The times being what they are;there would need to be boobs-and bulges ;-)
  12. I rode one run with Marco at SES 09 during which we traded the lead a few times from top to bottom at Buttermilk.I had never met him before then, but we were so stoked about our collective run we hugged at the bottom. His riding style and skill really struck a chord with me;as impressed as I've ever been.Great way to meet people!
  13. Sorry to read of your injury, Theo. Like Bryan said ,it's good that you're young, though boredom is probably worse at your age;or maybe not, since I didn't have video games when I broke my heel at your age ;-) Was it a fluke/mishap or in a blaze of glory?
  14. I have emailed him as well as notifying him in this thread that I will take the plate if the two members ahead of me bow out and they have.Rosencranz has not gotten back to me yet but I believe I am now first in line, and I too am ready with paypal.
  15. Not totally sure this is what you need but it is an example of what's available on youtube. Most factories have tutorials on youtube. When I got back into the bike biz after being out of the loop for a few years,I referred to youtube often for rebuilds where I worked. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Yl0GdF0w5hI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  16. SEJ,the Squaretrade warranty can be a good thing as the company has proven it will honor it's policies.Usually,it is offered as an option in ebay's auctions and fixed price listings.I usually go for the option that has accident coverage as well as malfunction warranty. For a 200.00 item it runs about 12.00 to 40.00 depending on the length of warranty you choose.I may be exercising the one I bought with the Replay XD if this latest defective camera is not replaced quickly. If Squaretrade can't get it fixed or replaced within 5 working days they will refund my original purchase price.Ironically,I have not had to use it for the Drift(my first Drift was defective also) or the Replay XD yet ,because each company replaced the defective cameras after I contacted each of them on facebook, the best use for facebook yet. :-)
  17. The new H3 Silver edition is probably the best seller of the new models, at 299.00 but the H2 it replaces has nearly the same features except for the H3's built in wifi, which according to reviews can be finicky. The H2 can be found new on ebay around 200.00 bucks shipped. The coolest thing about the new models, in my opinion, is that they are smaller and lighter. The H3 Black edition has fantastic image quality and numerous format choices at 399.00 but does get mixed reviews for the finicky wifi like the Silver edition. There is also a 'White' edition at 229.00 that is basically a smaller H1 with wifi. Overall,if I was wanting to stay under 300.00 I would be buying the now discontinued but widely available H2 as it is great bang for the buck and aftermarket warranties are available pretty cheaply(Square Trade for example)if the camera is new. If cost is not a major concern then the real answer is the H3 Black edition for it's amazing image quality and choice of formats and frame rates as well as a few other features. I have been experimenting with Drift and now Replay XD but the low light ability of the Drift is awful(the new Drift Ghost at 399.00 is supposedly much better). The Replay XD1080 i bought for it's incredibly compact size and weight stopped working after one dayand was quickly replaced on warranty but the replacement does not work. My,point?they all seem to be pretenders when compared to GoPro. The more I try other cameras the more I wish I had stuck with Gopro. I am hoping that Replay XD gets the bugs worked out,as the image quality is great and the form factor is best for how I want to use it.
  18. If scrutton or ursle do not take it I will.PM me through bomber if that happens. Thanks!
  19. @ Eurocoffee;I might be able to get you set up pretty cheaply.I'm thinking around 225..00 shipped from here in North Idaho to Mass. for a board with bindings.I may have boots for you too.Obviously shipping cost makes things less cheap than they could be.PM me through bomber if you're interested.
  20. Finally ponied up for Sidewinders and I'm glad I did.I demoed them at SES 11 on a couple of different boards and immediately knew I needed them.I have been riding the poor man's version(SnoPro) for some time, always thinking about getting the real deal under my boots.I use ski boots for a variety of reasons(variety being the main reason;-) These bindings work very well with both the Atomic B-80 and Technica Air-90 ski boots I use.I also have old Raichle Freezone ski boots with BTS installed but have relegated those to powder day use with my Rossi Jeremy Jones board that still has SnoPros on it. The pros and cons of Sidewinders -Pros;instant response to input from heel to toe and toe to heel.Great lateral and medial movement capability without feeling sloppy (like SnoPro does).I am going to get the yellow toe and heel elastomers soon to play with still more ease of movement than the blue ones I have currently.I like the solidity of the blue base pads ,so I don't think I would like softer base pads but do think I will have fun with softer toe and heel elastomers. I can see using yellow in the back binding and blue up front for my style of riding.Interestingly, the bindings feel so much more solid than SnoPros that I thought initially that I wasn't getting much movement, but video showed that I am indeed getting as much movement, but without the slop and or delay in response to terrain changes or my input.I'm getting Great performance overall from these bindings. Cons; It's not enough to keep me from buying another pair someday, but the way these are designed makes a second board kit useless for riders with smaller sized boots like mine.I downsize from my street size to use size 25.5 boots.Even though they are ski boots with slightly longer soles than snowboard hardboots of the same size' they require the toe and or heel blocks to be adjusted inward to the point of obstructing at least one of three bolts of the base plate. This means that to use a second board kit I have to remove the toe or heel block that obstructs the base plate bolt-thus making it a lengthier process than just removing the whole binding setup to change boards. So,I have a lightly used second board kit I bought here from another member for sale.(80.00 shipped to lower 48 states) Overall I highly recommend Sidewinders as the highest performance binding with the most responsive and best feel of any I have tried.I can see(or feel) how a stepin version of these would appeal to stepin users, as the lateral/medial stiffness of stepin systems that makes many riders choose to ride standard bail bindings for their inherent flex instead, is pretty much addressed in the best way possible on Sidewinders. Note that I didn't list the price as a con. They are expensive, but they're WORTH IT! p.s. I meant to mention that I bought these through Hardbooter.com so I could use paypal. I've bought other stuff through them and Hardbooter.com has always treated me right :-)
