  1. Crickets huh? Well, Palmer is the most interesting track in the Northeast imho. Just got back from spending two days there and it's absolutely incredible. Lots of big elevation changes it it's a long course. Pretty Spartan amenities (no running water yet), but who cares when you have a pristine, super-grippy surface. Needs some air fence before you could race there. Tony's Track Days is the only org doing track days on it this year.
  2. It's track time again! New one in Palmer Mass with the first motorcycle days late this month. Anyone from here going to be there this summer? http://www.palmermotorsportspark.com/
  3. My annual Mt. Snow trip has me on the hill Sat. (4/4). Any conditions reports this week from locals would be appreciated :-) If conditions aren't carve friendly, I'll probably just bring a gutter stick and softies.
  4. Looking to buy TD3 ONLY step-ins in great condition. Email me at bassomaticus at g mail. Thanks.
  5. Anyone gonna be at Loon Thurs or Fri 1/15-1/16?
  6. Do the heels used with step-ins interfere with using non-step in TD1, 2, or 3s?
  7. Hey Alex Very cool. Saw Paul K at Thompson this past July (he came by to say hi and check out the new track they have there) when I was there for a weekend. I've been out of carving since a street bike crash about a dozen years back and had gone back to skiing. Looking for some new carving gear this season to give it another go. Paul had said there was a crew of sportbikers here. If you haven't seen the new Thompson track you gotta give it a try. Tony's Track Days already has a load of days scheduled for 2015 and both Fishtail and Penguin do days there too. Anyhow, if any of you guys are going to start doing some days at Wachusett this winter, post it up . I haven't been on Bomber in a while and would love to find some local/regional hard booters to ride with occasionally. Is there still a daily crew at Stratton?
  8. Anyone else here do track days in the Northeast(Loudon, Thompson, NYST)? I haven't been on this forum much in the last 10 years but am getting back into carving and there used to be quite a few track people here. Cornering and g-forces are fun no matter what you're on! :-)
  9. Interested in the orange set . Email me at bassomaticus at g mail . Both three AND 4 hole discs included, right? Paypal?
  10. Thanks for all the input folks... Sean, when will you have pics/stats on your site for your new Flux board? It seems that the Razor is just about exactly what I'm looking for. I'm East Coast, so the powder days are WAY outnumbered by groomer days....and I really don't care much about anything in between. Lots of friends have and love the Donek Freecarve boards which is another plus in Donek's favor.
  11. good vid, thx....Was considering the Donek Axxess.
  12. In a fit of stupidity I sold my three boards, boots and two sets of bindings a few years ago following knee surgery. Last year I picked up a softboot setup to use while I taught a kid to snowboard and realize that the knee is OK for snowboarding and regret having sold my hard-boot gear. That said..... I'm looking for recommendations for a board to use for carving in softies that won't suck on the occasional powder day. Should I consider boardercross boards? Prior 4wd? Others? Any specific recommendations would be appreciated. I'm using Flow's stiffest bindings and boots which I love, and don't want too go back to a full hardboot setup. thanks!
  13. The Factory Prime has been SOLD
  14. Since having the knee scoped a few years ago, I haven't been able to get back into carving. Three boards and two sets of bomber bindings with 3 degree cant plates and purple bumpers. Best offer for all. Pick up in Amesbury MA. Burton Factory Prime 167 less than 15 days on it. Oxygen Proton 168 with about 30 days on it and a Sims Premium with about 20 days on it. The Sims is the softest and a great beginner board and the Factory Prime is the stiffest. Factory Prime is like new and the other two are in very good shape. MAKE AN OFFER!!! lasermetronome@gmail.com
  15. Here are a couple of clips.. 2001 and 2005 http://lasermetronome.com/video/CMC_PK.mpg http://lasermetronome.com/video/PK.mpg
  16. I picked up my first snowboard (a beat, burton supermodel) in a neighborhood yard sale for $50. Had some old ski boots (ridiculously stiff Lange Tii model ) and discovered that I could use them if I found some plates. Not a particularly good setup to learn snowboarding on but it worked.
  17. I'll be at Loon on Sunday and have a couple of extra boards and an extra set of Bombers that have just been collecting dust. One is a Oxygen Proton 168 with about 30 days on it. Excellent condition and the other is a Sims Premium 167 which is a nice, relatively soft board to start out on with probably 10 days on it. If you're interested send me a private email and I can bring them up so you can have a look on Sunday.
  18. Jim, I'll say it again 'cause nobody else is... take the rest of the season off. For me, the collarbone was surprisingly the most troublesome of any injury I've had (and it's a pretty good list) ... long recovery when the bone ends look like that and you're not 20- something. Watch for back or neck stuff starting (from everything being out of whack) just about the time the bone-ends stop bugging you. Anyone gonna be at Loon tomorrow? (Friday) Under the slow chair early....
  19. Jim, Don't rush it.. I did this to mine a couple years back and took the season off...I'm 44 now and the bones take a LOT longer to heal up than they used to. Take calcium supplements, especially if you're taking a lot of advil (and you will be for a long time), since it lots of advil changes your blood PH and your body uses calcium to try to keep it balanced (something I read when I had a lot of time on my hands) . Better not to risk a non-union and have to do the surgery, pins etc... especially with the stats on success. Keep the figure 8 on nice and snug and get those bone-ends joining...
  20. Anyone up for hitting Loon or Waterville this Wednesday?
  21. Bricky, (per the request for vid in yyour initial post) I have a bunch of vid on dvd from a couple early eces' and other days that I'll bring up if this thing is gonna go off. Anyone gonna be at Loon this Sat (2/26)? Nice hard snow at 8 am, no crowds on North or the basin and I'll have the cam in case anyone's feeling photogenic.
  22. Barry, subject was the guy I was riding with, not a random carver... only saw two other boards with plates on the whole mt. that day.
  23. Video of Public Enemy #1 at Loon Tursday among the cattle..... Seen later heading for the woods again...another close call. Anyone know this guy?-)
