  1. I started in the Head's but found them way too roomy and generally a higher volume boot despite the correct mondo sizing, 27.5...just lots of slop. I switched to UPZ RC10's (mondo 27.5) and found the fit just right for my foot (regular "D" width, not a particularly high instep either). I ditched the stock Flow liners as they were causing major pressure points. It's too bad because the construction is superb and the liners fit very well at home but didn't perform well (for me) on the mountain. I'm using old Raichle wrap thermo's now and that seems to be a good combination, although I'm still thinking of investing in some newer Intuition liners. I also really like the flex of the UPZ but I'm very curious to see how a BTS-type mechanism would perform on the boots. Only real negative I find with the boot is that I find the 5 buckles very annoying. I usually end up having one very loose (doesn't impact performance) after getting the boot snugged down to my liking however I suppose it's nice having the option for different shaped feet.
  2. Was just following the Carving Masters thread and came across the link for 19.94 and was surfing around and saw this! http://www.snowboardbinding.it/?page_id=147 Did anyone know about this yet?! I know Arnaud was experimenting with his ACSS on the UPZ RC10's but this is the first I've seen of a seemingly complete system. Curious about price and effectiveness compared to the stock spring mech. I find the stock one sufficient but perhaps this is night and day difference. Only thing is, is that it appears some drilling is required for the t-nut. Wonder if this could be converted back to stock. Either way, this is progress!
  3. FYI - Edelweiss is the last mountain open for nights this week. Tickets are half price $18 when purchased online. Definitely spring conditions but hardly anyone there. Hardened up nicely once the sun went down. It was still pretty light out at 7:30....weird.
  4. Thanks for the update. Hopefully they get that groomed in!
  5. Cascades...be there. I'll be with two softbooters.

  7. ...and recovered Another heelside by Khanh
  8. Two planker copycat. Taking over Upward Trail Mr. B nice heelside
  9. Okay, Okay...sheese! Powdah scratchin' tech 12s, fiki-fiki Did he recover?
  10. Exploding Board Wall...there was no shortage of sticks You will be missed... Board Wall
  11. ROTFL! Awesome...I was trying to get a pic to do this last night, thanks! Powdah's heelside mantra, "Just pet the kitty, pet the kitty". I noticed in all heelside pics that upper body position is very consistent and you're ripping it so you might be on to something Powdah!
  12. MR.K tearing it up! Prime example of "C" shape.
  13. Lots of flat light for some of these shots so no side lighting for texture, contrast and it doesn't have that pop but the great riders made up for that:D...that's my excuse for my amateur photography skills;) More to come...
  14. Wow, great job again! The quality is outstanding with great pics and articles and a variety of writing...ie a mix of gear reviews, sessions, and the "headspace" piece that is really valuable to this sport. Can't wait for the next issue!
  15. Indeed a great week! We had a great variety of terrain and conditions and we all survived in once piece! That chalet was awesomely creepy, cool, and eclectic...a bit of a throwback that added so much to the atmosphere to go along with the great people there. FYI - I'll be getting pics shortly and will send you the link. In the meantime I was thinking of posting a few in the "pictures" section on the forum so let me know if it's okay with you. Is there anyone that does NOT want their picture posted online? Please let me know either way.
  16. Perhaps a thread jack but still on subject...Corey, I see you have 27m. How are yours set up, ie toe/heel blocks relative to plate and edge of board?
  17. To begin I have size 27 RC10. As for boot centering, I have fiddled with trying to get it exact to the center of the binding disks but it never worked out. I got to the point where I was trying to center everything, boot to center of binding, toe and heel blocks equidistant (relative to holes on plate) but I found that my toe and heel from the boot never lined up to the edge quite right. So I estimated the binding angles first by aligning my boot toe and heel to the edge without overhang with about a 5 degree splay, then adjusted the toe and heel blocks accordingly. The toe and heel blocks are set quite different on both bindings and I have them biased ever so slightly however the setup so far has worked great. As for the bolts, I've never had any problem with mine coming loose. Perhaps some loctite is in order?
  18. And it keeps coming...too bad it wasn't a tad cooler though. Snow is better than no snow right... Powdah, you bringing those Osins regardless? Can you ride those with plates?
  19. Not shameless at all...I've been eyeing that 3800 for a while especially after all the snowfall. I'm only worried that it will be too short and possibly redundant given I have a Coiler AMT 171 that Bruce says rocks in the pow. Please bring it and convince me I need it ;)
  20. Looking good folks... Owl's Head Jay
  21. Beautiful place indeed. Awesome graphics...nice touch with the jodeler. Keep at it with the board; once you get the hang of it, it's a very forgiving board IMO.
  22. Speaking of Jay... That report was from this morning. Owl's Head also got a fresh 20cm over the last 24hrs.
  23. I'm cranky...this weather sucks. Boo.
